I liked the bed, although my husband found the mattress a bit too firm for his liking. The room was clean and had the standard amenities. The shower was great with very good water pressure. Good room size overall considering how very small everything is in Paris given the older historic buildings. We also enjoyed the balcony area which was lovely. The location of the hotel is excellent and we walked to the main atraction points. The receptionist was very friendly and curteous. On our last day the receptionist offered to store our luggage at the hotel so that we could enjoy the last hours in Paris prior to our departure. We could have also used the toilet facilities if we needed. We certainly appreciated the gesture.

The breakfast was quite limited and was the same every morning, but it was good quality, fresh and overall enjoyable. Unfortunately the person from staff who was supposed to clear the breakfast tables after hotel guests was not tackling this task with any sense of urgency, thus every time we went for breakfast there were 1-2 tables available to sit at and the rest were uncleared even though there were no other hotel guests around.

Location was the reason behind choosing Hotel Volney Opéra - located around the corner from Place Vendome, next to Opera Garnier (and CDG airport Roissy Bus), very close walk to Tuileries Gardens, Louvre, Palais Royal, perfect metro connections to any parts of the city - could not wish for a better starting point for enjoying Paris. The staff of the hotel was very kind and attentive. Room upgrade to top floor room (51) with a spacious balcony was unexpected surprise and made the stay extra enjoyable. Lovely decorated room featured very comfortable bed and exceptionally good pillows, making sleeping experience a delight. Highly recommend Hotel Volney Opéra, and will happily book here again when next time in Paris.

It's not the first time I get a room in Hotel Volney Opera, I appreciate the location, the simplicity of the place, not being a huge hotel. The room are a little bit small when you take the basic ones, but usually I'm just there in transit. It's one of the best compromise in my humble opinion when it comes to the cost vs value. Unless they are full or that i have to stay more than 2 days in Paris. I'd not choose any other hotel

It's not that I didn't like but I really miss a restaurant service in this hotel, being able to have food in your room would add another value to the hotel itself. Of course you can still order by the other means... But I'd wish of a room service.

Room was clean and smelt really good, even had a little balcony looking over the street. It is on the small side, but it was perfect for just one person or a couple looking to spend most of their time out exploring the city. The location is excellent - very close to Auber and Opera metro stations and walkable to everything in the centre. The staff were very friendly and efficient - reception is manned 24 hours and the front door is locked overnight (someone has to let you in, which is nice for security). There's also a little convenience shop literally around the corner which is open really late - perfect for snacks!

The hallway leading to my room was a little dark and I couldn't find the light. Walls are a bit thin (had noisy neighbours one night) and the bed was not very comfortable (quite hard and could feel the springs), but these are not deal breakers. It is otherwise a very good hotel.

Pretty tight space in the rooms although that comes with being in the center of Paris I guess and not a concern for us as such :) Nothing important not to like really as far as everyone was concerned

The room is new and comfortable. L’opera and department stores are in walking distance.

A female staff was extremely rude while checking-in. The other staffs are pretty friendly.

Well located in a quiet street (outside business hours anyway). Close to Madeleine and Opera metro stations. Plenty of restaurants and brasseries around. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Good window/balcony doors insulation.

Building work opposite hotel very noisy, as was the endless daily parade of garbage compactor trucks. Bathroom quite small, as was the door into it and even the room entrance door.

The location of the hotel is great! Everyone in reception was extremely helpful, the room was perfect - I have no complaints.

The street outside can get a bit loud in the early hours of the morning - but that can’t be helped by the hotel of course

Loved everything about this hotel. Friendly, helpful staff, comfortable, well equipped rooms and a wonderful location. We traveled as a family of 4 and booked two rooms for four nights just before Christmas. Lovely hotel in a beautiful city.

As I get older, I get a little less confident stepping in and out of bathtubs for a shower but I was aware the showers were like this before I booked.
