Breakfast was classic French and very good. The staff responded very precisely to our wishes, although the menu was quite manageable, everyone was able to find something to start the morning with. Everything was very fresh: mini crossaints, baguette (a bit hard) but still delicious, freshly made eggs in all variations, freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee and hot chocolate to lay in. The staff was always very careful that we didn't need anything and responded to our every wish, no matter how complex it seemed. My wife has back problems, so she generally has trouble sleeping, but in the two nights she slept like on clouds 10 out of 10 in terms of sleep quality.

My wife comes from the area of facility service in hotels, bars, accommodation etc. and through her many years of experience has developed a very meticulous eye for cleanliness in these facilities. Unfortunately, not only she but also I had to realize that the bathroom wasn't really clean: smears on the doors of the cabin and mirrors, water stains, make-up residue around the sink, dust in the corners or on bulges above the heads that you can't see directly true. In addition, the WiFi was in short less than modest and I had a better connection on my personal cell phone. At such a price, I expect that at least the room is in perfect condition and that there is no dirt in the bathroom. I hope u can improve in this areas for our next visit in Paris!

My brother and I travelled to Paris from London and stayed at Maison Souquet last week. The hotel is exceptional. From the moment you walk through the door, you are greeted by friendly staff. Upon check-in, we received a tour of the hotel’s main rooms. It is an intimate and lavish setting. You are transported back in time by its 19th century decor; the Hotel had once been a high end brothel and the Hotel honors that history by its efforts to decorate in the style that would have been used at that time. The guilded walls, stained glass and marble surfaces give a rich inviting feel. There is sort of an Egyptian vibe in the lobby which makes sense for the time period in France. The hotel bar, well adorned in red velvet (as is the rest of the hotel’s first floor), is run by an attentive bar staff who expertly craft all manner of drink. You feel as if you’ve found a secret spot, because you have. Breakfast choices were more than adequate and the food was excellent; for us the cheese plate with fresh bread was the favorite. The guest rooms are beautiful, each one slightly different and honored with the name of an actual former woman of the night. Honoring these women seemed appropriate and necessary. It is located in a great part of Paris, right down the road from the Moulin Rouge and metro stop, but far enough away to still be quiet. If you don’t know about the Hotel, you could miss it from the street. The Hotel is small (just 20 rooms) but that enables the staff to provide the guests they have with extra special care. We can’t wait to go back!

This hotel is in an great location very close to Moulin Rouge and it's unique feature is that you can book their private pool and steam room (they call it a spa) for 1 hour a day while you're staying there. It's located under ground but is very nicely decorated, although a bit bare. Book it before you travel as the slots get filled every day and you won't want to miss it. Our biggest issue with this hotel was that we expected much better room facilities from a five star hotel. I mean you don't even get tea/coffee facilities and no iron or ironing board. Also being a spa hotel you would expect better toiletries in the room and some options for the "spa" even if you have to pay for them. So if you're planning to use the "spa" then make sure to take your own products as none are provided. In the spa there is no option for background music which in my opinion is another shortcoming to make the guest experience better. In one evening we dined at the lovely restaurant and that was great. All the food was prepared from preserved produce so no cooking but it was still very delicious and the decor is just lovely.

No tea/coffee facilities in the room, just two small bottles of water and no iron or ironing board in the room.

At first I was unsure. Whilst the hotel is decorated throughout like something from a previous century, it is beautiful. Dark velvet drapes soak up sound, and it is always quiet which is amazing as the hotel is around 100m from Moulin Rouge. The staff are wonderful. We were assured most rooms were occupied but it felt like we were the only guests they had. There is a lovely private spa in the basement which is can be booked for an hour at a time. We took advantage of this facility, which was lovely.

The building itself is not very large, and consequently rooms are really quite small which is of course something they can't change. It is what it is. For me this hotel only works as a place to relax and unwind, preferably with a partner in beautiful surroundings. If that's what you want, you won't be disappointed. Therefore it would not be my go-to hotel for a business trip when one needs facilities for working in the room, but that was never the objective for this trip. In our room WiFi signal was poor, but fortunately we didn't need that.

The hotel is very nice and the atmosphere is really different from any standard hotel. The spa is nicely maintained and very pleasant since it is private. Staff really try their best to help and accommodate any need.

For that price, the rooms feels a bit small and the breakfast is good but not up to the standard of the hotel. Also it was quite disappointing not to be able to book the time for the spa before our arrival (I tried), which led to us having to plan the day around the only available slot. This was even though we arrived at 10am, in other case we would have basically been left without spa at all… which is difficult to understand in my view.

We were treated like Royalty from the very start. I have never experienced such amazing service from staff. Everyone was so kind, friendly and professional and they all went out of their way to accommodate us. The decor and attention to detail within the hotel is amazing. It's worth just sitting and soaking up the luxury! We had a few games of cards and snacks abd drinks at the bar which was so fun and enjoyable. The facilities are amazing. Everything you could possibly need is catered for, you need only ask. I genuinely didn't know it was possible to feel that relaxed and pampered!! The spa pool and steam room was just the most relaxing and luxurious experience, an hour of swimming and reclining in the steam - perfect. The history of the place was so fascinating. The fact we were basically opposite the Moulin Rouge was soooo exciting! Everything about this hotel was what dreams are made of. I really couldn't believe such a wonderful experience exists and we were lucky enough to experience it.

I wish we had stayed another night and I wish we'd understood the rules of luxury travel a bit more. We kept doing things ourselves when actually the staff were more than happy to do things for us. For example there was a service that they'd unpack our bags for us while we went out exploring! Next time we will know.

What an absolutely lovely hotel! The properties beautiful. The staff all went above and beyond for any request. The interior design is so well done. The cocktail bar was so charming with fantastic drinks and you can see locals would come in for drinks not just tourists. All in all this hotel is a great find. It was a wonderful way to spend two days in Paris for my birthday! Would definitely come back.

We liked it all!

central location. perfect for exploring Monmatre and Paris. uniquely furnished and decorated property. staff were truly wonderful. cautious and friendly and helpful. absolute professionals.

did need more lighting (eg - wardrobes we’re lit up however it was still hard to see due to the general darkness of the style ) wonderful staff - so polite but they did have difficulties with service at breakfast ( eg - hot chocolate / cereal may arrive but milk may take another 20 minutes ) also by the end of the visit , summing up the whole visit , I have to conclude the price was exorbitant for what the guest actually received. ( eg - water not replenished in bedrooms which I would consider standard )

The decor was very quirky. Not a place I would recommend for families with young children due to the nude paintings around the hotel but for couples it was a very romantic setting. The private use of the spa made our stay so very special. A unique hotel we will definitely stay in again.

The room was either too cold or too hot. This wasn’t something we felt was an issue as we were staying only staying 2 nights. Breakfast could be better. Maybe a variety of cold meats and a more substantial fruit selection. Again this did not spoil our stay more of a suggestion.

One of the most unique and beautiful stays. The decor is incredible. The staff were amazing, especially Sarah and Emma. Rooms are on the small side but apparently that's just Paris. There are tons of cafés, restaurants and bars in the surrounding area and The Moulin Rouge is a 2minute walk. Loved it. The hotel bar has some amazing cocktails and worth a visit, although the service we experienced was quite poor. The food at the hotel bar was great.

Service at hotel bar left much to be desired. Started off well, but towards the end of the night it fell apart. We were made to wait over 30min for a drink after ordering while other orders were being fulfilled that were placed after ours. When we asked about it we were told to wait until the people that had just walked in had been served. Won't take away from our overall experience of the stay but left a sour taste in our mouths (not from the cocktails).
