-the area is big, comfy. -the vibe is good. -the staffs are nice and kind. -the bed is comfortable to sleep as well. -the basic hygiene and tidiness.
-We don’t have the bathroom include in the room, which is quite inconvenient. -the cleaning is not that regular, often see trash overnightSSS in the rubbish binSSS in shared toilets and in my room. i always saw the cleaning lady playing with her phone and I wonder if she really worked😅. Compare to my previous stay in « The People - Marseille », which has a huge difference, they clean super regularly and I seldom see the same trash in the rubbish bins, and it never gets full! Actually I don’t have such high demand, but just don’t stay the rubbish overnightSSS… so was a bit disappointed to this cleaning thing.

Very good atmosphere and clean hostel
You had to pay for the luggage room and there were no places with locks to put your stuff in in the room

I stayed at this hostel in the middle of the city and had a good time. The hostel is super close to Galia metro and all the cool stuff in the city, which made it easy to explore. Getting around using public transport was a breeze, and all the famous spots were nearby. One thing I liked was that they let me store my bags for a small fee before and after check-in. It saved me from dragging my stuff around and let me enjoy the city hassle-free. They have an elevator, which was handy, especially when carrying lots of luggage. The staff was friendly and helpful, making the place feel welcoming. The common area and bar were nice places to hang out with friends or have a coffee. It was a chill spot to relax after a day of sightseeing. I had a small issue with the light in my bunk, but they fixed it really quickly. It showed they care about their guests. During winter, the rooms and bathrooms were warm thanks to the heaters. Overall, my stay was great because of the good location, useful amenities, and a staff that takes care of things. I'd recommend this place to other travelers.
I had a really nice time staying here, and there's not much to complain about. The only small things were the prices for hot drinks and soft drinks, which felt a bit high. Also, sometimes when I ordered a hot drink like hot chocolate or cappuccino, they just handed me the cup without a spoon or a napkin. I'm not sure if it's normal in France, but having to ask for these things all the time got a little frustrating. Despite that, I still enjoyed my stay!

Only half an hour walk from station I had heavy backpack but was an easy walk through a lovely city Place was very vibrant, people of all ages and cultures mixing together to create great atmosphere Breakfast plenty choice, quiche was nice change as solo backpacking through Switzerland i was having to eat a lot of pastries and I don’t generally eat carbs Shared dorms had little pull across blackout curtains which allowed people to keep on their lights without bothering anyone else in dorms, two pin charger ports in above each bunk and shelving for your bits Small problem as floor outside toilet was covered in plastic and I think it was covering a leak but this was a little thing Safe storage lockers but was 7 euro for night but this was backpack sized locker One of staff bugged me a bit,I picked up a tray which I thought was using and a staff member pulled a face as it was for clearing and I thought it would have been nicer if they had just explained instead of snatching remaining tray and pulling face but again a little thing Few minutes walk to lovely part of city with bistros bars and outside tables As a mature female solo traveller I felt very safe and had a great nights sleep before moving on to my travels I would recommend this place, funky and indie and all ages welcome
Outside of property was being dug up and I nearly missed it as entrance was hidden by polythene and tractors but guessing that was not the fault of the premises But we’ll worth a stop over

It's a very clean place and the curtains in each bed it's the best think, because give us some privacy once we are sharing the bedroom with other people. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good.
It would be better if we had a toilette in the bedroom. And I also think it should be some signs how to use the lamp close to the bed, I could turn on but not turn off. Also maybe a sign in the lift to say how it works, The staff told me I should use the card, but among the other information I forgot this one and I got stuck in the lift for a couple of minutes. The price was quite expensive but being in the Christmas holidays it would be expected that.

For hostel accommodation, this was one of the best! It is extremely well run, the staff are friendly and couldn’t be more helpful, and the facilities are excellent. I stayed in a 4 bed female dorm that included an ensuite. The beds were comfortable, linen excellent and each bed had a cubicle with shelving, charging points, a light and curtains for privacy. Towels are available for hire. Location, security, access to public transport and the on site bar/ snacks were all excellent.
As is unfortunately common with hostels, there were some people who lack respect for others’ need to sleep. Our room was awoken at 1.30am by a very noisy group of revellers who couldn’t remember their room number or perhaps which floor they were on. They insisted in knocking loudly on our door and calling out until someone answered. This sadly continued for some time. As they moved down the hall. The only thing I felt could have been a useful addition, was a larger bin for rubbish in the actual room as well as the very small one in the ensuite.

I stayed only for a night in the 4 women dormitory but with the comfort and location, it's a place that is definitely best suited for longer stays as well. Near to the tram and bus stop, so well connected to the central as well. Near to the cathedral as well and to visit the christmas markets, a good location to stay. Based on the previous reviews, I was apprehensive but it really deserves better rating. The washrooms were spacious, had toiletries, rooms were clean, staff were very helpful, the breakfast was the usual but good, the common area was lively, good people interactions yet cosy and calm as well . Overall, this is my second stay with The People and I loved it.
Not sure, why we don't have a guest kitchen but having one would really help. Even if for the basics like to boil water, a micro-wave etc.

During my stay at The People Strasbourg, I encountered several notable aspects. The shared rooms were a pleasant surprise in terms of space, offering a comfortable experience. A particularly thoughtful feature was the provision of curtains for each bed, ensuring privacy even in a shared environment. The aesthetics of the common room, which also functioned as a restaurant, were impressive. It was spacious and beautifully designed, contributing positively to the overall ambiance. Regarding meals, the breakfast provided was typical of French standards and met my expectations.
However, there were some drawbacks. The main inconvenience was the bathroom situation. Due to maintenance, the bathroom on my floor was unavailable, necessitating the use of a bathroom on a different floor. Additionally, this bathroom was frequently wet, which was somewhat uncomfortable.

The hostel let me leave my backpack for free after check-out. That's what most hostels do, but there were a few of them in my last trip that rented lockers for that purpose, and that kind of hostels are the ones that I'm rating negatively. You can eat your own meal at the chill out space, even if you don't buy it at the hostel. The hostel is at a walking distance from the coach station. The city exceeded my expectations.
It's a bit expensive. Others hostels include breakfast for that price.

Very comfortable hostel, in a great part of Strasbourg. You are well within walking distance of the city centre, as well as numerous tram/bus stops (even a 25min walk to the train station). The rooms and beds are awesome! Cannot complain. The breakfast is pretty good also. For the euros you pay per night, I can say that it is definitely worth every cent!
During my time there, there wasn't any daily activities posted (such as: walking tours, pub quiz, etc) that participants of the hostel could partake in. That is not to say that that is a absolute necessity, it's just something to consider
