This is a charming hotel with lovely staff. It's a little tricky to find as it is not on the street, but thru a little alleyway and the sign on the main street is very small. However, it is worth the effort! Because it is off the street it is very quiet. The room was impeccably clean and very comfortable. I love German bedding! If there is any complaint it is with the size of the bathroom. Everything is crammed into a small space. However, the room itself was a very nice size. We were lucky and got a room on the ground floor. There are no elevators, so if you have heavy luggage the stairs could be an issue. It is a circular staircase, and the steps are wide and carpeted. The breakfast room is on the top floor and is wonderful, as are the breakfast offerings. A carafe of coffee at your table, lovely loaves of bread & rolls, meat & cheese, tomatoes with mozzarella & basil, smoked salmon on toast with a piece of lemon, soft-boiled eggs, yogurt & cereals. The location is perfect. A short walk to 2 different metro stations, and a grocery store close by (we did have a refrigerator in our room). It's a doable walk to the major shopping center or zoo (about 35 minutes) if you don't want to take the metro and an easy walking distance to some of the popular tourist sites. We used the hop-on-hop-off bus and the pick-up spot was nearby, but once we got to know our way around we found it was easy to walk or take the metro wherever we needed to go. We were on a month-long vacation with this as our last stay and it was my favorite. We loved it and would happily stay there again.

I don't have any complaints. We liked everything about this hotel.

I loved the way the hotel is completely hidden away from the main road via a pretty ropey entrance way but dont be put off by that as it comes out into a little oasis of peace and quiet. Very chilled hotel indeed, breakfast of good quality meat, cheese, bread and salad options on the top floor with optional open air terrace.

The rather rough looking entrance road which you completetly miss initially but then enjoy the mystery it holds!

Staff was very nice and made arrangements for me to get into the room even though I arrived late. Breakfast was solid. Not very varied perhaps but a good solid breakfast. The room was really pleasant with more than enough hot water, nice and clean and spacious for a solo traveler or couple. Pleasant neighborhood during the day, not too far from the center.

Late at night the neighborhood becomes slightly less pleasant, a bit seedy. There isn't an U/S-bahn really near, which can be a bit tiresome if you've a lot to carry or go often to the center. The rooms do not lock automatically when the door is closed, and housekeeping once forgot to lock the door after them - I came back to find the door unlocked. To be sure, there is also a locked front door but this is not very reassuring. Hopefully they will find a solution.

Other than the breakfast missing some variety, everything was wonderful. Friendly staff, clean and beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, quiet neighbourhood.

The breakfast could have had more variety, of the healthy kind. In other words, more vegetables and freshly prepared fruit, and "vollkorn" (whole grain) bread. And less meat!

We stayed at the hotel for a Coldplay show at the Olympiastadion. Although the hotel isn't right in the city centre, it is within walking distance. Better yet, it is only a few hundred yards from the Nollendorfplatz subway station serving U1, U2, U3 and U4 lines - so you can get pretty much anywhere in Berlin easily. It was about a 15 minute ride on the U2 to the popular Alexanderplatz (TV Tower, Berliner Dom, markets and shops) and 10 minutes to Zoologischer Garten for Berlin Zoo, Tiergarten and connecting trains to Berlin Brandenburg Airport, Frankfurt and other destinations. The hotel is set in a small square off a nondescript, quiet commercial street. For its city location, it is very quiet. It is a lovely setting, even if the surrounding area isn't the nicest part of Berlin. There are supermarkets and lots of bars/cafés in the nearby LGBT quarter. We enjoyed having breakfast (fresh, continental style fare) on the rooftop terrace and our room was clean, spacious, airy and comfortable with a private shower room. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and we had a great stay.

We thought (and a sign in the room also stated) there was a vending machine in the basement, which there wasn't. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room would have been a nice touch too. An iron and ironing board would also be useful in the rooms, or at least available to use in the hotel.

Nice Breakfast and big room. Quiet, comfortable, quirky and well located. This hotel is a big city mansion house, full of character and a welcome change from normal business hotels. No problem finding it, you just need to check on google maps and be prepared to walk into a driveway passing through a building. There is a sign on the wall at the entrance to the driveway. Just keep your eyes peeled and you'll see it. Staff are really friendly. I left by phone charger in my room after checkout and they even came chasing down the road after me to give it back. That was very kind. If you can't manage stairs this isn't for you as breakfast is served on the top floor accessed by a beautiful curved staircase.

Friendly staff. Nice location. Near underground stations. Near many sightseeing points. 20 min walk to Berlin Marathon Start point. Restaurant staff was so nice. Warm welcome every morning. Nice food. On Marathon Day, they even packed breakfast for runners. So caring!

No lift. Mind the steps when you move heavy luggage upstairs or downstairs. Pillow was too soft. Mosquitoes inside room that irritated me at night.

The room was clean, bright, and comfortable. The only problem was that the only one socket worked in the room, but there were many sockets. The staff was kind and hospitable. Good location, close to the city center, malls, and green parks. Different U-bahn stations and bus stations are close to the hotel.

Incredible old building in quiet leafy cul de sac. Some renovations going on in nearby buildings but didn't notice when we were in the hotel. Lovely, spacious room with balcony, simply but stylishly furnished. Clean and comfortable. No lifts but the stairs were fine. Some lovely paintings and artworks.

Nice hotel, possibly a bit underrated. The breakfast could provide a bit more variety for my taste, but I am rather demanding in that respect. Enjoyed having breakfast outside on the terrace.

Some people may claim that it is not easy to find. So I recommend to carefully study the map before you go there. I myself had no difficulty at all.
