A wonderful small family-run hotel between the train station and the old town of Heidelberg. Everything can be reached on foot. The room was very comfy, the breakfast very yummy, and the staff super friendly. There is also a restaurant downstairs, with excellent food.

All good!

The hotel is in a quiet residential area. The room itself was large and spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. The room was very simply decorated and the whole hotel I think reflects that it is an older (4th generation) family run hotel. I don't tend to spend much time in my hotel when on holiday so or me, the family feeling was a pleasant change from a chain hotel and gave everything I needed. The location is good for anyone coming by train but is a good 30+ minutes walk away from the Altstadt which is where most Heidelberg visitors will want to spend a lot of their time. But it is very close to bus and tram stops and the Heidelberg public transport network is superb so you can easily get to the Altstadt in 15-20 mins.

Some would say the decor in the rooms is a little sparse and basic but really my only minor observation is that the hotel has no lift and so is not very accessible for those with mobility problems. It's an old early 1900s building and there is no easy way to have added one. But that may rule the hotel out for some potential guests.

Friendly and helpful staff. Our room was in the first floor and was pretty spacious. The room was really clean. We had a double bed (actually two single beds side by side) and a sofa. We also had the option to have a parking spot (at extra cost) in a nearby location. Considering the various regulations for the parking in German cities, this was really convenient and would recommended it if you are not familiar with the local regulations etc. The neighborhood is really quite and you can totally relax. There is no elevator (for the first floor at least), so if you have heavy luggage, this will be a small problem (we knew it and we were ok with this)

The breakfast (at extra cost) was not that satisfying. If it was included in the price I would be ok, but at extra cost would prefer the local cafés nearby, which would cost the same or less. There was no AC in the room, however there was a fan. The hotel was built in 1898, so it is a historic and beautiful building. However I would consider that a renovation would be more than welcome in the interior and the furniture, considering the price for the rooms.

It was good to have a fan and a bath. Very clean, spacious room, nice décor, TV worked well. I used the restaurant one night. Location near to tram stop and also walking distance to main station. Mainly quiet. Good breakfast and coffee in pleasant room.

Hard to squeeze gels out of their containers. Soap dish (no soap) needed a scrub. No-one at reception after 9pm. No street plans seen until I enquired on last day: there were some but with no useful detail.

Staff are very helpful and friendly. We got delayed on the way and the way and arrived at the hotel after the check-in time ends at 11PM. but the reception was very nice and waited for us. And helped with the bags that we had. the area is very calm and quiet and very safe.

I just wish there was an elevator. although the hotel is only 3 floors.

Very friendly and helpful receptionist, good basic room on a quiet street just outside (but still quite close to) the main tourist area. Nothing fancy, but very pleasant. Enjoyed the view of the church and access to the supermarket just down the street.

Our room was right over the restaurant so we got some chatting sounds into the evening, but it was low-key enough not to bother us. No lift, as is common in old buildings, but the stairs were wide and accessible (and we traveled light this trip) so no big deal on that score either.

The personell was very nice and were available for any questions. The hotel is located in a good neighborhood and within walking distance of the interesting areas of the city. The room was nice and quiet.

The breakfast was quite simple and could have a little had a little bit more fantasy. It would have nice to have a separate room or area to park my bicycle. The hotel gave me the oppurtunity to park the bike in the stairwell, so at least the bike was not on street.

They gave me a double room, even though I booked a single, which was very pleasant. The double room is very spacious, has a lot of natural light, though there are curtains to block it if you want. It was very clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the historical feel of the hotel. Its history goes back 4 generations. The staff was very helpful as well. The location is convenient as it is located between the train station and the city center, so everything is in walking distance.

One minor issue was that the ventilation in the bathroom keeps going long after you turn off the light, and it's quite noisy. Even if I didn't take the shower but just went to the bathroom for a couple of minutes. In the morning, there was some noise from the street because of the garbage truck.

Historic, quaint, comfortable, good restaurant downstairs, great breakfast, nice neighbourhood.

No elevator, had to haul our luggage up the stairs. Did not know we had to book ahead for parking spaces so we had to park a few blocks away. No AC but had a fan.
