Handy fridge yet the few items i consumed were never replaced. Shutters make room dark but dont keep out the constant noise from 3(!) tram lines, cars, trucks at work in renovations on 2 huge buildings next door. I could even hear passers by talking! Bed was wide but mattress far too soft to be comfortable. Lighting was fine.

Knowing area is busy I asked a higher floor room over 6 months in advance but they ''..forgot to file this into the system''. Ended up with a room on the 1st floor (thats much lower than other 1st floors in hotels opposite). They said, by email, they ''would block a nice room on a higher floor'' and this gives me second thoughts if i want to return. My sleep quality, among good design, was bad on all nights. They had no idea of how to compensate this replying '' we are fully booked''...( Just to show some concern...what about only one free breakfast?) Reception closes for 3 hours at noon and after 23.00hrs. Checking in is after 15.00.

Clean and modern hotel with extremely friendly stuff. There is a coffee machine and a stocked minibar in the room. Location is quite good - close to historical center of Munich and at the same time close to the train station so that you can easily travel to other cities as well if you wish. Due to its close location to the train station it may not always be a pleasant walk in the evening in surroundings, but still we didn't face any real problems with it. Will definitely choose this hotel for the next trip to Munich.

I recently stayed here for 2 nights with my adult daughter. It was a very last minute trip and I was concerned about getting good accommodation. I definitely did not need to worry. It was top class. It was spotlessly clean. We got a lovely welcome from the manager. We arrived early and were leaving our bags but the room was ready so that was great. I had requested a kettle in the room which was there. There was a mini bar with a couple of bottles of beer and water and juices. It was good to have a fridge in the room. There was also an nespresso machine with some complimentary pods. It was a 2 minute walk from the main train station ( Hbf) and literally the same from the Karlsplatz train station . It was so convenient coming from the airport on the S bahn. We did not feel unsafe in any way as 2 females travelling . It was a very busy area. We had the added bonus of having beautiful weather that weekend. We were also walking distance from the Marienplatz .We packed in a lot in our 2 days. Went to see the Nymphenburg palace and the English garden both beautiful. I would absolutely recommend a trip to Munich and would love to go back and see more. I would definitely stay at Design- und Kunsthotel again if possible.

Staff were very friendly and always said hello when coming or going from the hotel. I had problems with delayed flights and the hotel was easy to contact and arranged it so I could collect my key from a safe deposit box. They sent an email with all the relevant information. The hotel is only 5 mins walk from Munich Hauptbahnhof. The room was spacious and clean. There are shutters on the outside of the windows, so the room is pitch black for sleeping. There is also a free minibar and coffee in the room (but not tea). Also, as a bonus I was given a small birthday cake, which I thought was very kind.

The reception is not open 24hrs but the staff were very responsive to messages, so this wasn't actually a problem. I had no issues at all and would definitely stay again.

Fabulous hotel in the central of everything for Munich. We came for Oktoberfest and it was walking distance to that as well as the old town area. Very close to multiple train stations. Rooms were great. Loved the artwork!! Appears to have been renovated recently. Staff was friendly. Can’t beat this place if you are coming to München!! We really appreciated the free drinks in the fridge and the nespresso machine, both fantastic. Plus they had this bag you could put on your door if you didn’t want housekeeping and they would fill it with little surprises. The little touches set this place apart.

Nothing.

Lovely boutique hotel with 24 artfully decorated room. Great bathroom, comfortable beds and very large tv. Staff helpful and friendly and 10 minute walk to Old Town.

Nothing about property itself. You can book breakfast for 19$ through hotel which is at a coffee shop next door but you could also walk about 50 feet to the very bright, clean underground shopping center just down the escalator with more options for breakfast at a better price. This center also has a very nice grocery store to purchase very reasonable water, juice etc.

Centrally located, easy flat walk to neighbouring areas. Munchen Hbf is less than 10mins walk away, Karlsplatz Station was less than 5mins walk away and if you enjoy using public transport these two stations could take you anywhere. Lots of restaurants & shopping nearby the hotel, within the train stations and beyond. Tourist attractions including the Viktualienmarkt were easy to get to. Staff at the hotel (esp Alexander who was a wealth of information about Munich and helped us with local info and where to get a good schnitzel, beer & apple strudel!). The hotel is unique - very trendy and relaxed ambience. Love all the artwork in our room and around the hotel and we really appreciate the complimentary first round of beverages in our room's bar fridge. Beds were huge and comfy, spacious bathroom with large shower, having a balcony overlooking the main street was a bonus (hardly heard any traffic or noise from below during the night, we were on 6th floor). We didn't include breakfast with our accommodation but the breakfast cafe is right next door. We loved our 4-night stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

The staff, location, and bed were all great.

I think that the breakfast was fine for non-vegetarians or non-vegans. The hotel tried to accommodate me as a vegan, but in the end, the addition of breakfast to my booking was not value for money as I was only offered vegan cheese and vegan marmalades as substitutes. As a result, I was still hungry each day after breakfast. Again, I am sure it would be great for a meat eater as the buffet was quite large and eggs and other hot items were available. If you are vegetarian or vegan though, 100% stay at the hotel but spend your breakfast money elsewhere.

We were travelling by train and this hotel was 2 minutes walk from the station and near the historic city centre too. The late check in time suited us as our train arrived late and we had a very warm welcome. The room had colourful prints by Kandinsky and it was clean and bright with a balcony (great city view and good for smoking). It was air conditioned and soundproofed so it was quiet despite its location. The bed was super comfortable so we slept really well. The bathroom was modern and the shower had two heads, one like the rain and the other powerful. Also, we could leave our backpacks whilst we strolled around the city. We could not fault our stay, there is nothing they could do to improve it, it was perfect. I would recommend it to anyone.

Nothing - it was absolutely flawless.

Very convenient location for getting to/from the airport, as well as visiting the Old Town section of Munich. The reception clerks are extremely accomodating, with excellent recommendations for restaurants and local sites of interest.

It was the opening week of the European Soccer (Football) Championships, the first game was in Munich, and the Scottish fans were in town in force. Neeless to say, they know how to party. They were all friendly & we enjoyed their comradery, although getting to sleep before 1:00 AM was difficult.
