Wonderful localisation. Beautiful beach with a great view. We once went to a Voulisma beach (reportedly one of the most beautiful on the island), which was crowded, no changing stations and loud, and we stayed there for 10 minutes tops and decided to go back to "our" Candia beach to have a nice swim without being worried that our stuff would be stolen. We booked a superior family apartment and for 3 people it was really spacious and comfortable. Maybe a bit outdated, but at the bathroom was renovated. The terrace was big enough to play ball with my daughter or do yoga in the morning. The staff was mannerly and helpful.

Two things - uncomfortable bed with hard pillows; and 2nd - the hotel has no policy regarding 'booking' sunbeds with a towels on the beach. Each time we got there, there were many sunbeds 'booked' this way and we ended up leaving our stuff on one of those risking a fight with someone else, as there was no sunbeds available; once I got to the beach at about 2 pm - since it was lunch time there were perhaps 10 people there and yet no available sunbeds! I finally found one in the full sun. That was very annoying.

Cliff "beach". It looked as boutique hotel. Hotel for families Quite good drinks in pool bar Amazingly friendly staff Serenity Rooms are very nice. Still keep in mind they are highest quality of the hotel. Rest of the hotel is nice but not as nice as those rooms. Keep in mind there is small path in front of them and they have 2 levels (ground level have good shadow thanks to a terrace but people above you). In general highly recommended especially with family. Taxi (10-20Eur to nearby villages) always quite new Mercedes.

Quite crowded main beach. And people tend to "book" sunbeeds with towels Food is good but nothing extraordinary. Rooms are very clean in general but hotel is not doing advanced cleaning even when you stay for more than 1 week so with kids it would be great to have at least once more advanced cleaning.

This was our second time in this hotel although I am an explorer of new things. We were so happy in the first time, we have not think of another hotel in that area. It is super child friendly, nice and large village that one does not feel to be stuck in a hotel. The food, sea, pools, green areas and rooms are beautiful. I can strongly suggest for families with babies and toddlers. There is also a great facility for kids.

In our room on the ceiling (although it seems they cleaned and painted again), there were signs of mold in a quite a large area which bothered me. In the first time our room was much better in all senses. I asked to do late check out like 1 or 1.5 hour (I am travelling with a kid), they asked me to pay extra money, although I spent already for my expenses in this hotel x50 times more than what they have asked. yes, it is their right to ask for it, but it felt a bit weird, neither I stayed more nor paid the money.

Everything was just great. Location is perfect since its close to the city center of Agios but at the same time secluded and private. Its not overly crowded and we liked that there were 2 different beaches in the complex: one sandy and another rocky. Its great for kids but also for the adults to relax and enjoy. The staff is really nice, special kudos to Marija, who really made us feel welcome and taken care of :)

Some staff memebers are great but there is no consistency in service. For example at the gym the lady did not want to give my husband a towel to use after taking a shower - which is a no brainer. Sometimes the cleaning ladies would come to clean in the afternoon although we told them few times that our daughter will be sleeping.

We enjoyed our stay very much, and the staff were all ready to help and approachable. There were various options for dinner, and you were even allowed to bring your own food to the bar whilst watching the entertainment shows. The beach is amazing, with sunbeds on multiple layers, e.g., right on the beach or under the trees in the shade. The view is spectacular, the rooms and facilities are very clean, and the location is 10 minutes by car to Aghios Nikolaos and just over 10 to the picturesque Elounda. Walking by the road to Ag Nikolaos is possible, but there is no pavement, and it takes a good 30 minutes in the scorching sun. We went during August, and it seemed like a family-oriented resort with lots of young children and very quiet. We will definitely visit again. When I chatted with some of the locals in town and mentioned that we were staying at Candia Hotel, they all said that it was one of the best hotels in the area, so it sounded like it had a good reputation. The ice cream in the gelato parlour is amazing, but I also recommend Dodoni in Aghios Nikolaos by the lake - it's a must. The all-inclusive food options were plentiful, there was something for every diet and taste, and the quality was very good. A nice touch was the separate corner with local food only, so you can experience the delicious dakos, kalcunia, yogurt, and other local specialties. There is a separate tavern on site, which serves huge portions so have this in mind if you are with children. Overall we had an amazing and relaxing holiday, and we are looking forward to visiting again soon.

Not that we didn't like it, but every time we left/entered the resort by car, we had to stop by the barrier and report our room number to the person on duty. Perhaps it would be easier if they installed cards/tokens that we can use to lift the barrier ourselves. Regardless, we felt very safe everywhere around the hotel grounds.

The perfect spot for holidays with kids. The whole compound is so lovely (especially in comparison to other bigger hotels), designed in the way of a village. Kids can roam the place freely. Everything is oriented towards kids. The kids club had a different program every day and the ladies there were so sweet. Also there's a different evening program which we really enjoyed. We didn’t book the evening buffet and rather enjoyed the food options in the city. We once tried the Taverna at the hotel and it was honestly the only thing that was disappointing for us as it was very expensive for what we got.

So well set up for families, no parent shaming and everyone clearly felt so relaxed and safe. Great staff, always willing to help and take pride in what they do. We have a 2 year old who we would strongly consider bringing back when she is a bit older so she can enjoy the kids club etc (4+). Water crystal clear and great little private beach. Food pretty good generally especially lunch at Taverna. Also had the gelato daily!

By no means dislikes but a bath in the suite/apartment would have been useful especially with a little one and fitted bed sheets as mine came off every night! Smaller lollies for younger children, as well.

I thought that our reservation included breakfast but apparently it didn't. Nevermind - breakfast for parents with two kids (below 12) is at a good price. There's a good variety of food (both breakfast and dinner which we also had a few times) - I can't say that it was extremely tasty, but even the vegan in our family found something to eat and was happy. Lots of good fresh fruit too!

Two small things I suppose: 1. It would be nice to have more shade around and in the pools 2. The cleaning crew comes at odd hours. It was really hot during our vacation so we usually were in the room around noon and until the sun found another victim, but the cleaning crew would drop by at around 2pm which is an international nap time... :) we asked them to come later and they did, but it would be nice if they'd just come in the morning. (or at least have a dnd card to put on the room door)

the space and layout and location of the hotel is fantastic. the staff are friendly and helpful and the food was good. overall we had a great week and would recommend

the sofa bed in the kitchen was horrendously uncomfortable which meant awful sleep for my partner all week. Overall it needs an update, the kitchen facilities of the room are so basic for a family to cook. The one site shop is overpriced and minimal, not helpful for families looking to cook and eat but assume that’s the idea! lastly the pools are great but the little baby pool is popular and needs to be a bigger and a safer area. getting into Agios Nikolaos isn’t bad but I think I’d stay somewhere with walking access to town next time.

The accessibility of the beach was great and the staff at the scuba program were very helpful. Check-in went very smoothly even though we arrived earlier than expected due to flight changes. All the staff were very helpful and kind during our whole stay. We would definitely come back but maybe later in the season.

The pools were very cold at the beginning of the season. Dinner began so late (18:45) that we ended up eating off site every night because our young kids weren't used to waiting until that late to eat.
