It’s very much a self contained holiday resort with SPA facilities. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Food was very good with generous portions and reasonably priced. Our room and bed were also very comfortable. A TV and WiFi was provided in the room. There is a pleasant garden with seating and a bar - useful on warmer nights. This backs on to a small lake and continues to a walk along the sea front. What looked like a sandy beach is about 1km away. There is a large lounge with comfortable seating. Drinks, cakes, etc., available throughout the day. There are two restaurants in use and conference facilities available. It seems popular with families, locals and as a party venue and for business meetings. Accessible for those with mobility problems in most of the hotel. One wing would prove difficult. So, it would be best to specify any specific requirements. A busy clean hotel that maintained a quality service without service delays and excess noise.

Some furnishings (e.g. corridor carpet) looked a bit tired. Some of the infrastructure (e.g. sealant around the basin and bath) was poorly finished.

The hotel was extremely friendly and relaxed yet the customer service was really responsive. We asked to swap rooms as we felt our original room was quite basic, tired and disappointing and this was carried out very smoothly and quickly. The replacement room was much better and seemed to have been refurbished, as it was a higher standard of furniture and fittings. The restaurant and bar were both outstanding with a great menu, ambiance and service.

The tea and coffee making process had to be carried out on the floor of the room as the sockets were located out of reach of the counter services. Bad design here.

Evening meal was excellent, very tasty. Location with both a lake and sea view and easy walk into town really good. Busy hotel but was able to park car without a problem. Really pleasant friendly staff on reception, in bar, restaurant and breakfast room. Pretty garden area with seating and coffee cabin for drinks. Would recommend hotel. Great drive out to Glendalough and walk around Upper and Lower lakes.

Minor issue with tv in room (picture okay, but sound kept going off) not sorted despite staff efforts. Bathroom was clean but a little tired, but good shower and easy to use.

This is a lovely hotel with a large and warmly welcoming foyer with a fireplace, several sprawling sofas and little tables. Located just past the foyer is the spacious bar which serves till late and does very good food, reasonably priced too. The rooms are nice and clean, well thought out with space for your ‘stuff’. The beds are super comfortable with great pillows that don’t collapse. The reception staff, breakfast and bar staff, and housekeeping personnel, are all very very lovely as only the Irish can be. I’d like to particularly spotlight Becki on reception with whom I dealt with most of the time, a warm, gracious and very highly service-orientated young lady, always with a smile, an impeccable can do attitude and a temperate nature. I ended staying an additional night and Becki rewarded me for that by relocating me in a room with a view. Wonderful to be seen and heard, and thank you Becki! Across from the hotel you’ll find the leisure centre complete with fitness equipment, spa, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. It was an absolute treat to be able to spend a couple of hours having ‘me’ time. Just beyond the hotel building is the duck pond, the bay beyond that. Take a leisurely walk into Arklow, a very pretty little town, 15-20 mins on foot. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, first time in Arklow and I’ll definitely be back again now that I’ve made new friends.

Some of the noise from the bar can travel if you’re located above.

Our room was clean, comfortable and reasonably spacious. The meals that we had at the hotel (breakfast each day, and 1 dinner) were well-prepared, generous, and very enjoyable. The main thing we were impressed by were the staff - not only were all of the people we encountered very efficient and professional, but the were also very chatty and welcoming, in particular Sue at reception, John in the breakfast room, and Will at the garden coffee hut.

I can't think of anything that we didn't like.

Leisure facilities are brilliant! Staff were great, especially Ava in the lounge. Nice clean room with comfy bed.

Would be better if at breakfast time you were brought a basket of toast instead of having to stand and put it through that toaster contraption at least twice to get it toasted properly. It was quiet this morning when we were down for breakfast, but would hate to think how it would be on a busy morning!

Very clean and well maintained throughout. Friendly, helpful and professional staff available 24hrs. The breakfast was superb with plenty of choice, even pancakes made to order. We had one meal in the hotel which we had in the lounge. The food was perfect and so was the live entertainment. A very positive and memorable experience for our family.

Everything was good

Staff, Service , Facilities and Breakfast Choice & Quality all good.

The heat in the bedroom at night was very uncomfortable even when leaving the window opening. The rooms could do with air conditioning given the heat we have had this summer so I would think this is something all hotels will have to consider going forward. They were traditionally built to keep cold out, different story now with climate change.
