Daphne was an incredibly lovely host who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. She accommodated my request for a vegan breakfast without any hesitation, provided great advice for an evening meal, and would have provided me with a packed lunch as well if I had wanted. The residents lounge was a lovely area to relax and meet other guests. The property including the garden are beautiful and steeped in history. I was expecting only a simple room but it far exceeded this. The bed and room were cosy and comfortable with a very will appointed en suite. I had a wonderful view overlooking the garden and valley and was woken by the sound of the dawn chorus which was fabulous. I travel a good bit and must say that I was blown away with how amazing this place (and Daphne) was. It was reflected when talking to other repeat guests and with Daphne herself of course. If you have found this review and are undecided where to stay for your visit to Wicklow, I can truly tell you to stop searching and BOOK YOUR STAY NOW!

I can honestly say that there wasn't a thing that I didn't like.

Wonderful breakfast with a great choice and quality ingredients and great attention to detail. We felt very at home and it was a wonderful introduction to a part of Ireland we had not visited before. Daphne and her family were very hospitable and knowledgeable as well as being approachable and friendly. Everything was clean, tidy and immaculate and it would be hard to find any fault at all. Would absolutely recommend. It is so close to some many beautiful places to visit as well as being in the centre of town which has excellent pubs and restaurants.

Daphne has been at this for apparently 24 years and knows what she's doing. Everything was perfect and the breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. Decor in our large room was modern and tasteful and the shower was good. Bed was large and comfy. Quite a few things to do in the area if you have a car and are willing to drive 15 or 20 minutes.

Nothing really. There was a limited supply of restaurants in the town but that was mostly due to the season and day that we arrived, but the two that were open were very nice and very close by for walking.

As soon as you walk in through the front door, after being welcomed by Daphne, you know you are in a place that is lovingly cared for and is all about making you comfortable. Absolutely spotless and beautifully decorated. Right down to the gorgeous hand towels, the cups and saucers, everything was just beautiful. The garden was so lush and beautiful. The weather allowed us a hour or so to sit outside, sipping drinks while enjoying the birds and peace of the garden. Breakfast was delicious and generous with great choices. Daphne also helped us out with suggestions of where to visit - including suggesting a gorgeous beach walk where we got to see seals playing close to the beach. This is why B & Bs are so good - the personal touch. A wonderful B & B. Highly recommend.

Found this lovely little b&b by chance but will return by choice. Daphne gave a really warm welcome to her lovely b&b. Our room had a lovely and tranquil boutique feel about it. Decor and furnishings to a high standard. Extremely comfortable bed aiding deep sleep. Beautiful shuttered window overlooking a well kept garden with a flowering magnolia on our stay. The room had everything you needed, with hairdryer, fresh towels daily, hot drink facilities that there replenished every day too. A lovely touch with fresh spring flowers to make the room feel homely. Daphne was a wonderful hostess. Home cooked breakfasts that were superb. By booking the day before breakfast was fresh and ready quickly, with choices of full Irish breakfast, pancakes, boiled eggs, French toast. The usual cereals, jams, yoghurts, fruit juices available to self serve. The style is quaint with furniture to match the properties age. While we didn’t use the sitting room, a lovely area to sit and relax if you need it. The garden is available to guests too with stunning views over the Wicklow countryside. We found the location fantastic, it had pubs and shops within walking distance but still managed to give a rural feel. A very short walk away you could find the train station which stops in towns and villages worth a visit like Wicklow, Waterford, Bray and of course into Dublin. We didn’t use the local bus services that we saw, instead enjoyed whizzing about the Irish county side in our car. Wicklow has lots to offer a holiday maker. Beautiful houses and gardens. Whiskey distilleries. Wonderful hiking; you must not miss visiting Glendalough with majestic scenery, with walks for experienced hikers, but easy foot paths from the car park to the lough it’s self for less able bodied people. We had an amazing holiday at stirabout. Definitely to return soon. Thankyou Daphne

We couldn't find anything.

Really enjoyed my stay here. Daphne is an excellent host and every room (communal and private) was immaculate. Garden is also stunning and very well-maintained. Breakfast included a variety of choices, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Also enjoyed a local restaurant called Bates Nua which is within easy walking distance and the Cartoon Inn was a lively pub you should visit with live music on a Tuesday evening.

I had a lovely stay in Stirabout Lane B&B the night before I had to attend a wedding last week. Daphne the owner is a gem. The room was gorgeous, clean, spacious and very luxurious. The breakfast the next morning was super and Daphne very kindly let me have a late checkout to prepare for the wedding. I will be returning to Stirabout Lane the first chance I get! On a side note Jacob's Well hotel is at the end of the street and the bar food was very good there too.

I could not fault one thing about this B&B.

Daphne was an incredible host, and the whole place was beautiful and welcoming from the start. She had another room open up before I arrived and offered me the switch at no extra charge. After much deliberation (her patience with me was astounding, as I was tired and struggling with even this simple decision, Lol) I decided to keep my original room and couldn't have been happier in it. You can select your hot breakfast from a menu of amazing-looking options and mine was delicious each morning. My room was clean, tidy and was the perfect space for myself, with an incredibly comfy armchair, fantastic bed and skylight. There is a stunning garden out back that offers incredible views of the Wicklow countryside and there is a Centra within a short walk down the road that has anything you'd need. Rathdrum is a lovely town and is lucky to have Stirabout Lane to accommodate guests. I know I was lucky to find it. :)

Great, cozy B&B in the middle of Rathdrum village, the place is comfortable, the owners very attentive and the breakfast options are brilliant.

One thing to note is the triple room we stayed in is right at the front above the main street. During the long weekend we stayed in it was a bit noisy with the pubs downstairs, but it did calm down early compared to other places, so all in all nothing too bad but good to keep in mind if you're trying to sleep early.

Lovely comfortable room. We only stayed one night as a stop over before catching the ferry from Dublin in the morning. The breakfast was fantastic, we both went for the Porridge option with berries. Also came with honey, syrup and cream. Very good portion, I couldn't eat it all! Everything is very well presented. Thankyou Daphne for a comfortable last night after our week long road trip around the south west coast of Ireland. Highly recommended.
