We met Joel at reception when we arrived and he was extremely helpful and friendly, although confused because our small lad has the same name and we kept calling him! We travelled as two groups with separate rooms and we were kept to the same floor which was great! The pool was amazing and really well laid out. Suited us perfectly as a family with a teen and a toddler. The kids part of the pool was lovely and the lifeguards nearby to it was a great addition. The girls down in the leisure centre were also fantastic. The room was a great size and there was plenty of space for all 4 of us, inclusive of the hyper mobile toddler! The smaller of our children was extremely pleased with the tv in front of the bed, nothing like at home!! There was a nice sized bathroom and I liked the fact that there was a separate bath and shower, it made it quicker and easier to get ready in the morning, popping the smaller child in the bath while we had a shower. The restaurant/bar in the hotel was lovely as well. We used the terrace and sat inside in the evening. The cocktails were nice and there was plenty of options for drinks. The location was perfect for our needs, being so close to Douglas town, 20 mins for fota and close to family to visit! We really enjoyed our stay!

The restaurant was quite expensive and we opted to drive down to Douglas town and have breakfast in a local cafe instead.

My mother, 2 daughters and myself booked this hotel for 1 night. We were very impressed from the moment we arrived. Service with a smile. We paid for room on check in which was fine with us. Room was very warm buy the air con was exceptional. Ordered food for the girls before they headed to concert. I went to collect it as it was €7.50 to get it brought to room. Had a great night sleep. Though the fire alarm did wake us up in the middle of the night. We had a la carte breakfast which was a cheaper option than the other breakfast which was €17.50 per person. Would definitely go back still

For 4 people staying in the room there was only enough towels for 2 people and a half a roll of toilet roll

I liked the room and everything about the place! The staff, particularly at reception, were lovely, informative and kind. In the restaurant, the food was delicious! I had the chowder starter and a beef main. There was bingo loco on one of the nights, we did not attend but the staff did invite us to join when we asked what was going on which I thought was nice! The pool was also really good! It was big and spacious with a sauna room and the staff there kindly provided towels! There was a cool shower in the room and a huge mirror on the wall beside the bed. At the reception there was a computer which showed what events were on in Cork during the weekend!! The grounds were nice and it seemed really lively. Lots of parking available on the grounds!!

The spa wasn't available during our stay as a member of staff was on maternity leave! This can't be helped. but hopefully will be back running soon! The elevator was quite creaky so someone nervous of elevators may not like that! The hotel was quite child friendly which is not a bad thing necessarily but a bit overwhelming at times with all the kids everywhere constantly especially running in the halls in the morning!! Also, this is not the hotel's fault, but Booking.com's - I sorted my "Cork" search results by "breakfast included" but breakfast was not included in my package at the hotel! I found this confusing, but as I said, this was not the hotel's fault!!

Lovely comfortable room, good size and very comfy bed and pillows. Bar food was lovely, I couldn't see an option for room service but we ate in the bar and the service and food was excellent. Overall a lovely stay and more reasonable than other Cork hotels. Would return.

The Reception was not the most friendly service to be honest, and twice someone cut in front of me in the queue and they were helped, whereas the queue should be prioritised? One person at Reception seemed very friendly and helpful, the person I met was not overly friendly or helpful but did the job (but dealt with 2 queue jumpers before the queue).

The location was beautiful. I was blown away by the size of the hotel when we drove through the gate. Our room didn’t have that great of a view as we were to the right of the building overlooking a car park and some houses and the first night we stayed there was a wedding downstairs so found it very hard to get to sleep with the noise but night two was so much better - the beds are insanely comfy and we’d definitely stay again if visiting cork.

View from room was not great. Noise in room on night one due to a hotel downstairs made it difficult to fall asleep. Did not like that you have to buy a cap to use the pool. Wearing those should be a personal choice I’ve not come across a pool where these are needed before

Bed was amazing. Never slept on a more comfortable mattress. Staff were excellent, place was in a great location son reception for the phine was full bars. Thats often a problem in some hotels. Breakfast was to die for. Was attending a wedding there. The meal was amazing particularly the black pudding starter. Gordon Ransay would certainly swear but only to say how effing good it was. Beef with the garlic and thyme gravy, I can convinced that that is what food made in heaven will taste like.

At check-in I got the impression the person who checked me in wished I didnt come to him. I get it being busy, but as a current hotel employee myself I can tell you that you have to give the impression to the guests that they can come up to the desk whenever they want. It makes them feel like they are welcome and that you are happy they are here. Believe me as a person whose worked the front desk I have had many times where I wished when I saw a guest was coming to the desk that they would turn 180 degrees and walk the other way and just keep walking until they were a mile away because i got ten things going on at once. But you can never let them know that.

I like most of the things

as much as I enjoyed the place and the attention from most of the staff members, there was one particularly staff that was extremely rude. He walked away when we were talking to him. I am guessing he was just finishing his shift and seemed very dismissive. We only asked him for direction to the swimming pool. I couldn’t get a chance to see his name because he walked very fast ahead of us. I have decided to give the hotel a good score because I believe it won’t be fair to mark them down based on one bad employee but at the same time, they need to pay attention to this particular employee because he will cost them bad business and money if he keeps treating customers that way

The location of the hotel is good, we walked for 15 mins to Douglas shopping centre and took a bus to some places. But there is also a bus stop not far from the hotel. We always used Google maps, and didn’t have problems with public transport. My children liked the swimming pool most of all, it was really nice.

We didn’t know how to turn on the shower, so used bath all the time, which wasn’t comfortable sometimes.

We had to move room after first night, ants in bed, bathroom and bedroom table. But got moved to a lovely bright fresh room, staff at front desk were so friendly and helpful and apologetic, straight away offered refund for first night. Beds were very comfortable.

Food was lovely, but a few staff didn’t understand menu and it was confusing trying to get her to understand our order, steaks came out with no steak knives, I had to call the girl over and ask for them, also so side dishes were late coming out.
