The Old Dispensary is very atmospheric. Renovated so that it has the comforts of modern life while keeping in touch with its historic character. There were good clear instructions about how to check yourself in. My wife and I stayed for 3 nights and appreciated the way our privacy was respected while we are there. The location is great. You are really close to the centre of Kinsale with all its renowned restaurants and attractions but are not bothered by traffic noise. On Friday and Saturday nights, we heard the occasional group of revellers as they passed by. The noise didn't last long and wasn't too late at night.

Can't think of anything.

It takes a lot to get my wife excited about a room as we travel lots, however the room we had was like a film set from a victorian drama. High ceilings, chandeliers, and shutters on the windows all added to the experience. Location could not be better and on street parking outside the old dispensary was a bonus. Communication from Varun the owner via booking.com was excellent

We booked late on one of the most expensive weekends so paid more than usual for the room. That said, I cannot fault the room and the facilities.

Very nice room. Bit of a climb with lower rooms apparently empty. Nice bathroom. Good ventilation. Lots of places in EU have no window or fan in bathroom so to have a window is a treat.

My one complaint was that there was no daily service by cleaning lady to swap out the cups dishes and silverware. There was a small fridge and toaster but after eating a small breakfast with tea all our silver and dishware were dirty. we had to ask to have them replaced. I didn’t need fresh towels or my bed made but you really need to replace dirty dishes.

Location is ok. Close to the town not many steps Good for people arriving late as it’s self check in Had a decent iron in the room Water in the fridge

Nowhere to store luggage after you need to check out at 10am. No one at the property Squeaky floorboards Damp smell around the building Pigeons sound like they are sleeping with you through the wall! TV signal cuts out Internet connection not very stable Didn’t feel like great value for money - assume we were charged a much higher price than ‘normal’ rates as locals are aware that people are coming here for weddings.

Beautiful, spacious room with large bathroom, a short and convenient walk from the town centre. Nice information included about things to do in Cork and Kinsale. Helpful directions to available parking.

Parking was difficult (though that is an area-wide issue, not specific to this property, it is worth noting that dedicated parking is not available and nearby parking spaces become filled quickly and may be hard to navigate in and out of on narrow streets). Be aware the top floor apartment requires climbing several flights of stairs!

We love the location, close to restaurants, pubs and harbour and the great covertion made of the former dispensary to a warm and inviting space. The handy parking just 20 steps further up above by the old bowling green is great since parking can be at a premium in Kinsale

We stayed here some years previously and had a room with a great view. Sadly this time we had a window looking over some rooftops but we weren't there to take pictures so no harm done.

Very nice indeed. Room was spacious with plenty of storage and a nice size bed. En suite very modern - lovely shower. Our room had a small patio, but we couldn’t use it much due to the weather. Peaceful and quiet location less than 2-mins from the main centre of Kinsale. A small selection of amenities were available upon arrival which was nice.

Check-out was at 10:00 which seemed early given that the host did not seem to be based onsite. We personally would have preferred this to be a bit later, but we didn’t request this directly with the host as it wasn’t imperative to our stay. Just a consideration :)

The place is conveniently located in the heart of the village. Our room was spacious and comfortable, bathroom was well kept but old, with separate faucets for hot and cold water. Instant coffee and tea, and a kettle are in the room.

It's unattended: on check in you get a password to open a box at the doorstep which contains your room key. Being unattended, should you need something you need to call a guy.

Location to everything was great. Room was clean and efficient. However, we were not expecting a 3rd floor walkup which was only an issue on arrival and departure with luggage for a 2 week trip. Town was wonderful and the walking tours (day and evening) were exceptional. Fishy, Fishy was a wonderful seafood restaurant. Call ahead for booking as we lucked out with a last minute seating.

Owner/Manager seemed a bit gruff when I called him for pass code to the lock box when I could not find it in my email.

We had an apartment in this property and really enjoyed the extra room and amenities. The kitchen was adequately stocked though not abundantly so. We had access to a private patio, an electric fireplace, and a spacious living area. We enjoyed the property and would definitely return.

It had been a particularly busy day for the limited staff on-site and we were not able to receive an orientation to the apartment and its unique features. It took us quite a while to figure out all of the electrical switches and hot water controls, which were not well marked or easily located. A simple "walk-through" upon check-in would have resolved these "mysteries," although we do understand the demands upon the staff. Such a walk-through would be particularly helpful to those who are a bit less experienced than we were, since we have a background in construction and could figure out the controls eventually.
