Stayed at this hotel many times before. This time we upgraded to a boutique room, which was nice. Very spacious. . Comfortable bed. Nice decor. Quiet. Close to Cork City. Friendly staff.

Bathroom could have done with updating. On first inspection it was lovely, however the grouting in the shower was very stained and the seals around the shower needed redoing

The property looks even better in person, with a huge parking space and a 10 min drive from Cork’s airport. The room, even thought it was in the basement with no view, was spacious and gorgeous. I just loved the interior design. The cleanliness of the room could be better . We found spider nets in the corners of the room, the tissue box was almost empty and the diffuser in the room was empty. The restaurant was really beautiful and the food really good with decent prices. The stuff is friendly and ready to help . The breakfast had all the basics you need and more .Although if you book late breakfast ( meaning 30 min before the closing) you may not found everything ,as they don’t always refill the food station . Like the pancakes for example. The breakfast room is extremely beautiful with a view of the nearby fields ! Overall it was a good experience.

I’ve stayed here numerous times over the last 3 years and will return again. It’s a great location, not far from the Cork City. There are good restaurants and bars nearby (TradeHouse and Anglers). It’s also not far from Cork airport if you’re flying in. The staff are friendly. I’d booked the most basic room on this visit (as it was just a two night stay), but on arrival, we were upgraded to the Executive Room which was really lovely. Was a good size with the usual tea and coffee making facilities. Plenty of storage for belongings. The waterfall shower was powerful with plenty of hot water. The beds were comfortable and rooms have easy to function heating. The entrance is always decorated beautifully during the Christmas period. Plenty of parking out front with an overflow car park if needed. Thank you Oriel for the upgrade. It was a really lovely surprise for my husband and I.

Great location for access to Cork City and region by car, but also to local restaurants on foot. Generally a clean, comfortable, well appointed hotel with friendly, helpful staff, Bedroom was large and suitably equipped, furniture in good condition. Plentiful range of breakfast foods. Evening meals in the bar pretty ordinary but convenient if we did not feel like going out. All very good with the exception below.

Bathroom hot towel rail did not work (so towels did not dry fully); shower dripped constantly and quite loudly; bath and washbasin taps were very stiff.

Excellent location to the City Center of Cork, and a friend's home.

We had a problem with the smell in the bathroom (room 252). It was sewer gas because I know I had this same problem in my house back home. We informed the front desk, told them we would be out for the day. Came back later in the evening, and was given a key to 256. We were not informed by the front desk if the issue was resolved. I would highly recommend this place if you plan on coming here to visit family, friends or by yourself.

Loved the room, we paid for an upgrade & stayed in an Ellis Collection room. It was beautifully decorated & the bed was very comfortable. Car parking at the hotel was brilliant. The location of the hotel is perfect for a trip to Cork City & The Blarney Castle. Reception staff where lovely & friendly.

On our first night we where woke at 1.22am by people walking, talking & moving, what sounded like furniture, above us. I did mention it to reception the following day & they said it was probably staff setting up for a function the following day & if it happened again just to ring reception!!! We had dinner in the Bistro the first night, didn't seem to busy but we found the wait to be served quite long. Starters where fab but mains disappointed us. We had booked breakfast for 8.30am, we found the food had been sitting since the start of service & the eggs we in a bad way, it was the same on the second morning. Alot of the chairs in restaurant & room where in bad need of a clean & there where cobwebs in our bathroom.

Room was good and staff were friendly . Particularly Graham at reception. The sauna and steam room and jacuzzi were good too.

Laundry service was terrible ! It went on a Thursday and I didn’t get it back till Monday despite saying same day service. Also it included someone else’s underwear ! Did I lose any of mine ? I don’t know ! No laundry list! Also a supervisor I believe is required in the dining room to ensure correct running of the dining room. You will wait as requested to be seated for a while , give up and just go and sit wherever you want . Also the staff don’t seem to keep an eye on the food running out. The food was excellent though.

Very flexible booking. A much bigger hotel than we're used to, so some pluses & some minuses. Large room & excellent bathroom. lift to all floors. Big carpark, good breakfast & dinner. Only about 7 miles / 20 mins from Blarney Castle (in superb grounds, but long queue for inside the castle keep). 5 miles / 20 minutes from the centre of Cork (and Cork hotel prices). Breakfast quoted at £14, but the room plus breakfast for two was just £14 more than the room without breakfast !! Policy? Faulty website? But it meant that breakfast cost only £7 pp.

Organisation was a little haywire. A charge advised if we wanted bedlinen & towels., no reply to our query via Booking.com. Only a couple of euros, but something we've only ever come across with cheap holiday accommodation, and it created entirely the wrong impression of the clientele. We had booked dinner at reception when we arrived, but were told at the Bistro door that we weren't booked & there was no table available. Very badly handled by the young lady at the bistro, who clearly believed we'd not booked. and would have turned us away if we'd not insisted. It turned out that the guy at reception who had booked us in for the next day's breakfast had booked us in for dinner the same day. Inefficient & badly handled, but that's not a reflection on the rest of the staff.

The hotel is lovely. Facilities are great. Complimentary use of the pool and gym which was a bonus. We were in the Ellis collection rooms downstairs and it was lovely and peaceful. Reception staff are lovely made to feel very welcome

A few things The €150 security deposit - doesn’t really make sense. The breakfast staff !! Our first morning was terrible , there were no eggs , mushrooms or bread I had to ask for some felt like I was constantly asking for things should have been prepared. A pot of coffee would have been nice rather that the big boiler full but even that was empty had to ask to be refilled. The girls working there , 1 in particular just didn’t really care and her attitude put me off going the next morning. It’s the only thing spoiled out stay.
