This was one of the best places we stayed in Ireland!!! The cottage was huge with 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths!! The scenery was breathtaking from the two decks. We were there for two days and ate at the Hotel restaurant both days for dinner and breakfast!! The best word to describe the entire staff was professional and friendly!! The best hospitality we experienced the entire trip!! The waiters we had were outstanding their names were David and I think his name was Eoghan. The young lady Lucy we meet at breakfast was very friendly as well. I will definitely be back next year with friends and Aherlow House is a MUST stop on our travels!!! Thank you Aherlow House for a memorable stay!!

A wonderful tranquil place away from busy life! Nestled in the Glen of Aherlow with fantastic views of the mountains and surrounding valleys. The house hotel maybe a little dated in places but that is to be expected in a place like this and doesn't take away from the wonderful stay we had.... honestly haven't been so relaxed in years... The staff need to be bottled up and shared to all hotels , they truly were fantastic and couldn't do enough to make the stay wonderful, service with a smile that wasn't faked and service was always quick. The food at the Hunters Lodge was 5*, couldn't fault anything, breakfast was self service and had everything you want from hot breakfast to cereals/pastry etc (our second morning was much busier at breakfast but staff were quick to replenish food items, plates etc.)

Only fault would be the bed and pillows were quite firm, not to my personal preference but my husband was quite comfy!

Loved the location… beautiful setting. Although dated the hotel was spotless. The breakfast had good choices and we would stay again.

Staff were pleasant but not very engaging. They could have been a bit more chatty and interested in the clients. Just a bit more chit chat with people makes it a more personable experience. Would have been nicer to have ceramic cups or mugs in the room which are reusable rather than single use compostable cups. Views were amazing although the shrubbery could have done with cutting back from Room 107.

Good sized room with lovely big bath in the bathroom. Plenty of options for breakfast. Disposable cups in bedroom for tea/coffee

The bar area was busy & noisy - we felt it was more like a restaurant than a bar where you could sit and chill. Kettle with tea/cofee etc was on a slide out tray underneath TV unit, the power lead going through the rear of the unit was a bit short so it made making drinks a little tricky, more so because the tray couldn't be fully pulled out as it then bumped in to the dressing table. Shower curtain rail could do with being a little further away from the bath - when the shower was on full, the draft caused the curtain to move inwards and stick to your body

Staff were welcoming and happy to answer our questions about the area, including directing us to a laundromat and supermarket. Were warmly welcomed to breakfast each morning and loved the meals for dinner each night. A great selection at a reasonable price on the menu. Our room was spacious and had the most glorious view of the mountains. The location was stunning and I truly wish that we had more time there to explore around.

Nothing that I did not like! Thankyou for the wonderful stay.

The views from this hotel are unbelievable. It is surrounded by many fantastic walking and biking trails. Bedroom was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. Food was very good also.

Stayed in room 101. The water was, in my opinion, dangerously hot coming from the shower. We could not turn down the heat. We reported it to the staff who came straight away and adjusted it. Unfortunately turning the controls next time sent it back up to a high temperature.

I had a fantastic experience at this hotel! The spacious bedroom offered breathtaking views of the Glen of Aherlow, and the comfortable, large bed made for a great night's sleep. All the amenities I needed were provided, which was very convenient. The highlight of my stay was the delicious evening meal. The food was not only mouthwatering but also served in generous portions. The staff's politeness and attentiveness added to the overall positive experience. The lively crowd at the bar created a wonderful atmosphere, making my stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for a memorable and delightful getaway.

While my stay had many positive aspects, there were some downsides to note. The hotel's decor, featuring classic Mahony furniture and a burgundy carpet, felt a bit old-fashioned and heavy in the room. Additionally, I encountered a broken window handle, which, although I could still open the window, was not ideal. I was also disappointed to find stains on the throw blanket, which affected the overall cleanliness and appeal of the room. Furthermore, the presence of mould on the silicone sealant was a concern, indicating a need for replacement and better maintenance.

Location is beautiful. We stayed in one of the lodges and the views of the Galtee Mountain are gorgeous. The atmosphere is tranquil and relaxing. Lodge was very clean and well equipped. Ensuites are great. In general could do with a little updating but excellent value for money. Our biggest problem was lack of wifi - we were able to use hotspot but we really expect wifi nowadays. Staff are lovely and will try to help with things. Hotel needs a bit of updating also but if you want to go hill walking or just relax away from it all, this place is lovely.

Food was really nice, big portions and good value. There was lovely bar with a fire and nice lunch food too. Great location for walking. The manager and staff working in the evening were really helpful, good service.

The staff at reception & at the bar during the day weren't very helpful or friendly. Lots of them standing around chatting and we were told we had to go to the bar to get drinks instead of ordering from them. The receptionist saw us walk the wrong way to our room and didn't correct us, when we walked back and said we went the wrong way she said yes and then told us the right way. Really silly things that impact the experience overall. We spoke to the manager who was really helpful and must have spoke to them as service improved afterwards. The rooms were very warm, would suggest turning off the heaters.

Overall, this is a lovely place to stay and our experience was quite delightful. The hotel room, with its comfortable ambience and thoughtful amenities, left a positive impression on us. The room was tastefully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The bed was comfortable, providing a restful night's sleep to the well-appointed bathroom that was clean and well-maintained. The room's cleanliness and tidiness added to the overall positive experience. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating, with a good level of professionalism and genuine hospitality. Breakfast and dinner were really good. The hotel lacks veggie dinner options, but, the sole option was really good! The location is in the countryside, meaning lots of opportunities for walks and a quiet existence. While there's always room for improvement, the minor shortcomings were overshadowed by the overall quality of the room and service. With a score of 9 out of 10, I can confidently say that this hotel provided a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I would certainly consider returning in the future and recommend it to others looking for a pleasant and cozy place to stay.

Not much we didn't like. The view from our was non-existent, but, we only booked our room that morning. This isn't a complaint. It's just a shame because I bet the view from some of the other rooms would be amazing! As mentioned, breakfast and dinner were really good. The hotel lacks veggie dinner options, but, the sole option was really good! No doubt if more options were put on, they would be to the same high standard.
