Came across this hotel by accident and what a jem I found, I arrived early from work the girl in reception Aislinn said no problem we can sort a room for you gave me fine big room with a double bed. This is a family run hotel, I later found out while chatting to Ais mum, and you can see how much effort they put into running the business. Breakfast starts at 8 am but I need to be leaving then so again no problem no fuss or drama just said come down at 7.30 for breakfast lovely fresh breakfast, I also had dinner here for the 3 nights I stayed. I most definitely have no problem recommending this hotel should you be in the area, and it's not far from other places, should you decide to base yourself here as I did. I look forward to returning soon so to all the staff thank you for a wonderful stay Bill (bus driver) 🚌

A lovely family-run hotel just on the edge of Kilmallock, an ideal base for seeing the Ballyhoura region with more than enough parking on both sides. Margaret was very welcoming at reception, and immediately picked up on my interest in history and seeing the local area on check-in, recommending I visit Lough Gur, the Grange Stone Circle and Bruff before dark, before spending the rest of my stay in Kilmallock itself. Dinner in the Cloister restaurant was included – a welcome surprise! Nadia and Ella were efficient and friendly staff on the night, and not afraid to engage with the guests on a busy night at the restaurant. The room was spacious and exceptional value for money, with a good stock of tea and coffee. The bed was also very comfortable, with extra pillows provided if needed, and the window view across the River Loobagh was a lovely way to start a new day. A very comprehensive breakfast was also included in the price, with a wide range of cooked options complimenting a large continental selection. Like dinner, breakfast consisted of locally sourced products which was a nice bonus for sustainability. Moya was friendly and well-informed about what was on offer, and while it was quiet when I was having breakfast (between 8am and 9am), it was still a warm atmosphere for a December morning. I would happily return for a longer stay, as Kilmallock is a gorgeous town and a family-run hotel as well-run as this one is a valuable asset to have.

I didn't think the television in the room was working as it should have – I could only pick up a handful of channels before giving it a retune, but it worked out in the end. The only minor fault I had with the room was a green light beside the bathroom, which made it a little difficult to fall asleep. However, once one is mindful of it, sleeping is no trouble at all, not least in such a comfortable bed.

The staff were really accommodating. We stayed here as my sister was doing the Charleville half marathon, they put out some breakfast at 7am for people who were running and when we checked out Margaret asked if she would like to shower after the run which was such a nice touch and very much appreciated!! We also ate dinner and the curry I had and the burger my sister had were both delicious and the restaurant staff were friendly. Would definitely book here again if she enters the next Charleville half! ☺️

Food offered on arrival and order taken as we settled in. Good parking on site, lovely food served swiftly, staff very helpful, informative, very friendly . Very spacious room and bathroom, spotlessly clean and tidy. Great position for strolling through the town. The lady at reception Margaret ? i think, was especially helpful and friendly. All staff professional and friendly, nothing to fault, wonderful experience, will definitely stay again.

Nothing , it was great

A great hotel, with large comfortable rooms and ensuite bathrooms. The staff couldn't be more friendly, welcoming or helpful. Exceptional service and a really friendly atmosphere. The evening meals and breakfast menus were gorgeous. High quality food and service. We chose this location for a 6-night stay, so we were well placed to explore Ireland and it didn't disappoint. Definitely recommend this hotel if you want a location away from a busy city and want a friendly, welcoming stay.

THE most comfortable bed I’ve slept in the whole trip. Huge upstairs room with a Queen bed & lovely white cotton sheets. Very quiet peaceful surroundings & unlike other hotels we’ve stayed in this trip we weren’t waken all night by doors banging, talking etc. staff very friendly & helpful.

the shower head had been tied on with a blue rubber glove! realised why when it fell off & the jet of water hit the wall where there was a leak in the pipe. it would be a simple procedure of replacing the shower head & pipe rather than using a glove. The extractor fan in the bathroom was Sooo bloody loud you could not hear the TV! d aren’t put the light on at night because of it. You could do with an isolator switch so it can be used just when you’re having a shower rather than come on with the light at all times.

The room was very spacious, comfortable and clean (could do with carpet update soon though). The breakfast was excellent- full irish with other options available too. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. And a nice surprise was that there is a pub onsite that you can get a drink or snacks from at any time! Less than 5 minute walk into town center and also very close drive to Charliville for more restaurants and nightlife. There is plenty of parking available in front of the hotel and more just across the road. I would stay here again.

The bed was very comfortable and the staff was amazing. I checked in late in the evening as the dining room closed. The man who checked me in had the kitchen make a quick take away dinner that he brought up to my room so I didn’t have to go back out in the cold. Also: the water pressure in the shower is amazing

There is very little soundproofing. I heard kids rough-housing in the room above me for at least an hour

I eat in he restaurant one night - mussels- sea bass - mussels a bit on the small side and the sea bass was superb. The white pudding needs to be looked at as it was poor. Still overall good value for money

Everything was good. I stayed in room 213, the hot water is not plumed in right. It should be Hot water on the Left- it comes out of the right side. It’s always hot on the left and cold on the right so a blind person does not get confused.

Warm reception from Margaret and family in this lovely hotel in the heart of Kilmallock. My room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfast each morning was divine. Bar food in the evening was also very good. And bonus was the complimentary glass of bubbly to celebrate International Womens Day! Staff also went out of their way to organize a hairdressers appointment for me after I mentioned wanting to get a blowdry in the morning when I was checking out. Could not have asked for more. SUPERB.
