July 2024

Wonderful hospitality, lovely surroundings. We stayed at the Templer Inn for five days in June. There are only four rooms, really small apartments, in this Inn. The rooms were immaculate, with modern bathrooms and well appointed kitchenettes. Alon and Reveah, our hosts were wonderful, pointing out local attractions and helping us out with transportation details. They served a lovely Israeli breakfast in the courtyard each morning and graciously accommodated my vegan preferences. They really went out of their way to help with anything we needed, including cleaning my white pants after I had sat on something, well, colorful. The Inn is a historic building in the German quarter and Alon proudly showed off all its history, as it has been in his family for generations. Walking distance to restaurants, bus stops and local shops.

It was perfect.

The hosts were very helpful. They let us check in early. The building is a restored house from the Templers who lived in Jerusalem in the 19th century. The room we stayed in was in two parts, with a living room-kitchenette and bedroom divided by a few stair. It was peaceful and comfortable. We loved the outside grounds and perhaps the best part of the experience was eating the tasty breakfast outside under lovely trees. The property is a 25 minute, interesting walk to the Old City, and right in the middle of the German Colony's winding alleys, an amazing park along the old railway line and with many shops and cafes.

The pillows weren't that comfortable. (I should have asked for a different one)

The breakfast was absolutely delicious, very generous and much appreciated by all of us. We enjoyed the rooms, which were a good size, excellent shower and a pleasant sitting area that allowed us (two rooms) to sit together for a drink and chat. We all thought The Templer Inn was very good value for money, and that our hosts, Alon and his wife, were graciou and very helpful.

This is not the fault of the accommodation but the Municipality needs to limit the decibel levels of entertainment noise at the adjacent Tachana shop and restaurant complex. Completely exaggerated and unnecessary. Fortunately, it quietened down before bed time, but it really is unacceptable not only to visitors but also to anyone who lives on the adjoining streets or tries to operate guest accommodation.

The location is fine and the bedroom was perfect -cozy, big, with coffee machine, microwave, fridge, dishes and cutlery-. But what really makes this hotel an extraordinary experience is the family that runs it. Alon and his wife made us feel like if we were home, they prepared us some sandwiches and fruits to take during the days that we couldn’t have the breakfast in the hotel. They gave us the best tips to enjoy the neighborhood and the city, they even gave us towels to take to the Dead Sea. The only day that we could enjoy the breakfast with the other guests we were surprised, not only because it was delicious but for the care with which it was prepared and served. Amazing family and amazing hotel!

I don't often leave reviews, but this one's a must. The place is really very nice, all the comforts you'd want in a charmingly restored house in the German Colony. The rooms are larger than we expected, and very comfortable. The 20-minute walk to the Old City goes through a lovely series of gardens, and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. However, what's most remarkable about this place is the owners: Alon and Rav treated us like family. It was really like staying with caring friends (who never get tired of having you around!). The breakfasts were great, and Alon was always ready with tourism advice, restaurants tips, and historic information. We were going to Jordan, and he hooked me up with his brother, who just returned from there and gave us lots of pointers. And we forgot something there, which he made sure got to his sister's place in Tel Aviv, where we picked it up a couple of days later. C'mon! Where else do you get family-style service like that?! Stay at the Templer Inn if you're going to Jerusalem!

Internet was a little spotty.

We loved staying at this apartment. it is located in an interesting and tranquil part of Jerusalem within walking distance to the old city. it is also in front of the first station a lively eating and drinking area inside the old rail station. what made the experience special was the kindness and attention of Alon and his wife. they are lovely hosts, helpful and welcoming. we enjoyed chatting with them whilst having home made breakfast. we would recommend staying here and will come back

can’t think of anything. the walk to the old city is uphill so if mobility is a problem that made need be taken into consideration

The breakfast was EXCELLENT! We absolutely loved the property, its sense of history, and our wonderful hosts Revaya and Alon! Revaya and Alon went above and beyond the call of duty providing a great experience for both my Mother and me on our visit to Jerusalem for her 71st Birthday! Thank-you both very much. You made our Holiday a very memorable and happy one! :-)

Nothing. We absolutely loved everything. A great experience!

Working in the travel industry and having visited over 40 countries, I rarely end up as positively surprised as during my stay at the Templer Inn. The exquisite level of attention and hospitality from our hosts exceeded our expectations. We felt more like guests at someone's home (which in part it is) rather than guests at a hotel. The Inn is a historic house, well preserved. The neighborhood is quiet and gorgeous, even though it's not far from Jaffa Gate and the Old city. Breakfast is delicious, with homemade food freshly served. In conclusion: True hospitality.

We returned as a couple to the Templar inn following a memorable family stay a few years back. A beautiful intimate inn within an historic templar building at the center of the German colony within walking distance of everything. The templar room was a unique experience - elegant architecture, spacious and tastefully furnished. Breakfast was wonderful in a relaxed vibe in their beautiful garden. The inn is run by a fascinating, warm couple who patiently took care of all our needs. Simply good. We’ll be back.

This cozy four-room hotel is located in a historic Templer building in the heart of the German Colony. The thick walls and spherical ceiling seem to take you back a hundred years. However, the rooms have all the amenities, and even more than in the conventional hotel rooms (such as a kitchen with a full set of dishes, a microwave, a roomy refrigerator and a coffee machine). In addition I would like to highlight the exceptionally friendly attitude of the host, we felt like we were visiting old friends.
