The location of this hotel was smack in Matera Sassi, a fantastic city that I would highly recommend. The only drawback is there was a lot of climbing up/down cobblestone stairs. The way to get from the reception area to our room was a block away, then down 60 stairs. That said, I would do it all over again and enjoy it as equally as we did on this trip. Across the street from our room were unending options for eating. Morning, noon, and night. A+ to the gracious staff as well.

The room was very large by European standards and was perfectly cleaned daily. The staff was friendly, and the location was great. There are plenty of shops to visit, and the very best views of Matera are just steps from our room. Matera is an exceptional city that you should not miss while visiting Puglia.

Really lovely hotel, the room was beautiful, with great bed and shower. I really loved the aesthetic and the little details such as a modern take on renaissance art, the decor and overall vibe were great. The breakfast in the morning was also very good, overall, really happy with my stay here and Matera is lovely, I'd definitely come back.

Lots of steps to go up / down with 2 suitcases, but hey i farmer carried them and got a little work out in.

A beautiful property in the heart of Matera. We were delighted that we booked 2 nights. We upgraded to a Junior suite and had stunning balcony views. The room was big, bright, beautiful and very clean. We had a lovely breakfast each morning with plenty of choice.

Superb accommodation. Very helpful and pleasant staff. Extremely clean. Beautiful shower and bathroom. The bed is very comfortable.

Would not recommend for people with mobility difficulties. But then it applies to the whole of the city

Lovely big airy room with aircon; spotlessly clean; huge round bed which was a first! Staff really friendly, warm and helpful; the hotel is a contemporary modern place, perfect location right in the centre of town surrounded by restaurants and shops, but away from the noisy main square late at night. The breakfast was fit for a King, so much that we couldn't eat our way through it all! Any late night revellers or early morning van noise was drowned out by the air con, we slept mostly really well and we are light-sleepers. Again the staff were so lovely and helpful. i would definitely recommend this hotel and we will stay again when we return in September.

Incredibly helpful staff. The annex rooms are in a great location but up/down steps. The staff was totally willing to handle all bags for us, but we did it on our own. I left something in my room at check out.. The manager went beyond good service to retrieve it for me. An excellent little find. Highly recommended.

Some of the rooms are literally cave rooms. So there is a certain mustiness. Can't be helped.

Breakfast was delicious, staff were friendly and our room was clean.

We don't travel internationally often, and we didn't realize that we had to ring the bell to get someone to open the door and get service to check-in. Maybe they should put a little sign telling people "Please ring bell to notify staff of patrons"

Great location, two minutes walk from centre and easy access into Sassi. Overlooking a pretty piazza, lovely balcony and not noisy at all if you close the windows. Lovely bathroom and good continental breakfast. Lovely lady on reception.

The cave room is really nice, well decorated and spacious. Very wll located in the center of Matera with an easy access. Francesca, at the front desk, is super nice and helpful with lots of tips to visit the city.

Hotel in a great location, very central. It seems quite new with rooms very clean and well renovated. The staff were exceptional and very helpful.

This is not a criticism of the property but we found it very odd staying in a room that had no windows, and so no fresh air and no natural light. It was a but stifling. Also the stairs to access the hotel room is quite tricky with suitcases.
