Staying in a cave setting with the private pool was magical!! Room was comfortable and stunning, and the complementary drinks were appreciated. The in-room pool was one of my favorite parts of the trip. On top of that, the staff were ABOVE AND BEYOND INCREDIBLE. Not only was the food (breakfast and dinner) amazing and the service excellent, but when the photographer my boyfriend hired for my (secret) proposal canceled last minute due to car trouble, they asked one of their contacts to come in and help him out, leading to absolutely stunning photos and the most amazing experience of us getting engaged. I am blown away by the location of the hotel, the amenities and room, but most of all, the care and dedication of the staff at every interaction. We will definitely be back. <3

Beautiful views and fine attention to detail from the bed linens to the aromatherapy type products included in the room. The restaurant provided one of the best dinners we ate in Matera and the cave ambience is a plus! We booked the junior suite and the closest space was a nice bonus I wasn’t expecting both because it was cleverly and discreetly located behind the bed and kept us organized during our stay. Staff was very helpful in arranging our shuttle service and a person to help with our luggage (which I highly recommend doing)

Awesome room. Super unique and cool and the staff was excellent. This is a great location, an unusual hotel and a new experience in guest accommodations for most travelers. It's not easy to reach and getting luggage to the hotel could be difficult, but they make it work seamlessly with the porter service. Hotel really is worth the extra effort and if you can stay in the room with the private terrace, do it - it's worth it. Awesome views.

This is an experience destination. That said, it can be considered difficult to reach and challenging with luggage. Definitely not an ADA compliant place to visit (USA standard), due to steps, roads, and physical effort needed to reach destination. However, that said, if you are able just go - it's super cool and the people at the hotel are awesome.

Unique and special property. Extremely clean and tastefully decorated. Everything went smoothly from check in to departure. Breakfast was highlight for us, everything homemade and delicious :) Plus, sitting in a cave was very cool! The luggage porters were wonderful, even met us off the beaten path with cold waters. Reception and staff were so helpful. Truly and experience that we will forever remember!

Stayed 5 nights which coincided with the Festival of Madonna Della Bruna which was a very special time to be in Matera. Amazing location with well appointed unique cave bedroom. Dinner was so good that we returned another night. We used the car parking service and it worked really well. All staff were professional and friendly. Special mention to Angela at breakfast, Isede's barista skills, Erika and Christine on the front desk. We will definitely be back.

The hotel is located in the heart of the old city (Sassi) and is well appointed. The staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay. The breakfast buffet had many options within the hotel's restaurant with a great atmosphere.

We had experienced difficulty in transferring our luggage to reach the hotel due to the terrain and multiple flights of stairs. Once we arrived, the hotel did not notify us that they offer luggage service but we were notified or this prior to our visit.

Thanks to you, the three days and two nights in Matera were very pleasant, with the best view from the door of the room, and my favorite Fanta and natural water in the refrigerator. Even if we booked only one of the cheapest standard double rooms, the view was very good, we wanted to upgrade to a larger room type for the second night, but it was booked out. The sheets and bath towels were the cleanest I had been on a 10-day trip. We took a lot of good photos, the staff were warm and friendly and made us feel relaxed, the dinner was delicious, suitable for Chinese tastes, the breakfast was rich and exquisite, there were many kinds to choose from, the cave hotel and cave restaurant were very special experiences, it would be a pity to miss! I will introduce this place to our Chinese friends. I wish you all the best

Gorgeous hotel in a fantastic location. My wife, who is high maintenance (love her ;) and who doesn't do any of the bookings when we travel was super pleased and impressed with the hotel and the room. Breakfast was solid as well! We only stayed for one night but I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Matera!

A bit more info about parking would have been nice to know prior to arriving. They did send a very informative whats app message they day before but prior knowledge would have been great. Parking is only available via a public lot that is not super close to the hotel. This means you need to carry your luggage through flights of cobblestone steps and streets in order to get to a place where cars are allowed. Not a dealbreaker for us but could be for those who are older or not super able to carry luggage for a longer distance!

Wow! We booked a suite with terrace and the view from our private terrace was unbelievable with views over the Sassi and the caves. The room was very spacious, gorgeous decor with a roll top bath in the room and a separate bathroom with walk in shower. The staff were very friendly and spoke good English. We used their partner company to park and taxi to the edge of the Sassi where we were greeted by a porter to take our bags and guide us through a short walk in the winding old world to the hotel. They communicated in advance of our arrival to arrange everything! This stay really made our trip and was my favourite part of our holiday. This beautiful city is right outside your door and you’re able to forget about the modern world the entire time. 10/10 thank you!

Beautiful room. It is important to note that some rooms face the street which happen to be the same street that the walking tours use. This can be a bit awkward, as you can see people passing by and people could potentially see you. Having said that, this hotel does offer the opportunity to stay in a converted cave which is what we wanted. We used the car park and transfer which was arranged by the hotel and it worked perfectly and without hassle. Continental breakfast was good. They had a small menu for cooked items (like eggs) which was extra, but reasonably priced.

No coffee making facilities in the room. There were dinner tables set up literally outside the room (103). It’s not a huge issue, but it definitely feels less private.
