This place is the best kept secret on the Amalfi coast! I wish I could tell you not to come just so I could have it all to myself whenever I come back but the truth is you'll miss out on an amazing experience if you don't stay here. Luigi, Federico, Daniela and Alessia made our stay remarkable. If you want Italian culture, this is the place to get it. Their history and ties to the coast go way back and their food at the restaurant is the best we had across the coast. The family was so helpful in planning our trip- we wouldn't have known where to start without their daily guidance. The hotel was so clean, I would have eaten my pasta off the ground in the bathroom floor. Great location and views are to die for. THANK YOU!

No complaints at all!

An amazing property with an impeccable view in the perfect location. Avoid the crowds in Positano and stay next door in Praiano. The absolute best part of this experience was the AMAZING family that runs the hotel. The kindest family you will ever meet that will help you with absolutely anything you need. The best part of our Italy trip! Rooms were spacious with large patios with a view of the water - perfection! And the food - delicious! Luigi and his family want every guest to leave with wonderful memories and we did just that! Do not hesitate to book this wonderful family-run hotel, you will not regret it.

Fantastic, sparkling clean, enormous rooms with a terrace facing the Coast. We happened to travel during a heat wave and the air conditioners worked at level we are used to in the US (absolutely not trivial in this area of Italy). The insulation is great and we had the piece and quite we were looking for. Above and beyond service. Think Four Seasons and then some. Assistance with EVERYTHING we asked for, even when some requests were extremely unusual (my mom wanted mani padi in the room). They researched, recommended, booked and drove us! Really unparalleled service. It is a family business and you can tell they really really care about it and go out of their way to make the stay unforgettable. Dinner and breakfast were great as well.

Only because we stayed for 6 nights, the breakfast felt a bit repetitive towards the end. But this is a pretty unusual situation since most do not stay as long as we have.

I was very pleasantly surprised by my stay on this property. The rooms were clean, modern and spacious and the sea front views from the balcony as well as the restaurant are impressive. The biggest highlight was the friendliness and attention provided by all the staff, everyone was extremely helpful helping with all of our questions and requests (such as suggesting places to visit, arranging transfers, booking parking spots and dinner recommendations). They made our stay and overall experience very pleasant. I would not hesitate to come back to this beautiful hotel.

Nothing, everything was perfect.

What an amazing experience! My wife and I have been fortunate to have traveled and stayed at some incredible places throughout our beautiful planet and we must say this was heaven on earth and hands down one of the most delightful stays we have ever had. Luigi and his family are all amazing. Luigi graciously drives you around (within reason/close radius) and he drove us and picked us up from Positano which we weren't too impressed with as it was a zoo and overrun with tourists. Hotel Pellegrino was the perfect oasis to escape all the craziness of Amalfi coast. This family truly understands service and makes you feel like welcome guest/family. Everyone from Alessie, Daniele, Genaro, Guiseppe to Luigi are amazing. From the moment we arrived, we felt like valued guests. We were greeted warmly by the patriarch of the family, Luigi and his daughter, Alessia who oversees reception. Alessia was ubiquitous and responsive on WhatsApp, a pleasure with whom to talk. As we arrived later than we had anticipated we had asked if they could move our dinner reservations and they did. Then we quickly changed and were graciously driven by Luigi to our wonderful nearby restaurant. Our room was amazing (room 21)! It had terrace and million dollar view of Amalfi Coast. The furnishings were simple yet refined. Ambiance: They have done a wonderful job with the plants and appearance/decor of the hotel that this place feels like a high end hotel. They really shine in terms of service. An amazing place to stay and highly recommend!

If we had one complaint or quibble it was the lightening in the restroom. This is more a pet peeve of my wife's as she prefers warm softer light in particular with a dimmer function so if you prefer surgical lightening you can have it but if you prefer warmer calmer light you can dim the light to your preferred light intensity. This is such a simple fix so did not detract from our experience.

Look no further, just book it! Hotel Pellegrino is BEAUTIFUL and the views are breathtaking! Such great value for your money. Family owned and managed with so much care and love by a wonderful family. The breakfast was excellent - it’s simply a dream and you just have to experience it. I also loved the location - away from Positano crowd but close enough to get wherever you need to go and the local private shuttle service is an added bonus. Thank you Luigi and family for an unforgettable experience!

I have zero complaints. Loved everything single thing about my stay here.

The family team at Hotel Pellegrino goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable and everything is taken care of. I don’t have enough to say about how wonderful Luigi and his family are as hosts - and they truly view you as their valued guests, similar to having friends in your own home. They helped with so many details large and small. Special praise is due for the amazing breakfast on the restaurant terrace as well as the gorgeous ocean facing balcony in the room. Would stay again!!

A little difficult to get in touch with prior to the visit to confirm a transfer and a few small details but in the end, every detail was attended to.

Family owned and operated. They treated you like family. The rooms were awesome and we had an amazing view from our balcony. Only 10 rooms in the entire hotel so we loved how laid back and chill the place was. The restaurant was on the top floor with an amazing view you could eat outside or inside. The breakfast was the best of all the 7 different hotels we stayed at in Italy and Switzerland. We ate dinner all 3 nights here because they had a great selection and they catered to you and adjusted the dish to your desires!! They even split the different meals for us so we could all try different dishes!! Truly a highlight and a gem of a hotel stay!!!!

Nothing. it doesn’t have a swimming pool, but we own our own pool so we didn’t care, we came to spend time along the Amalfi Coast and see the sights.

We stayed at Hotel Pellegrino in late May 2023, our first time to Amalfi Coast. We found the other reviews we read on Booking to be very accurate. Hotel Pellegrino is exceptional – very clean, nice room, and with great, personalized service from the owner. The staff is friendly, speaks English (which is not always the case in Italy), and they can help you with planning and logistics for some of your activities in the area. The breakfast was the best we had in our time in Italy and Switzerland. Don’t worry about not having a view of Positano from your room, you’ll get to see it plenty of times if you are in the area and the view from the jasmine and wisteria covered balconies is beautiful and unique. Definitely walk around the nearby town of Praiano if you are visiting, the views are really nice. After experiencing, we recommend take the hotel’s advice and spend more to get a private transfer from the airport or other areas when bringing luggage, it will just be more pleasant. We got to the hotel using the bus from Sorrento which was an interesting experience and cheap. But, the bus can be very crowded, you might have to stand, it swerves a lot on the curvy roads and people definitely get car sick, and the bus doesn’t have much space for luggage for all passengers. Given the crowded bus, getting off with luggage can also be stressful, they usually make a quick stop on a fairly narrow road with mopeds speeding around. Taking the ferry between towns is also highly recommended, it’s more scenic and less crowded, and we didn’t find bringing luggage on and off to be a problem. When we visited, the hotel will shuttle you to the main road at the top of Positano, which is about a 10 minute drive (they will also take you to the town of Praiano), which was helpful. Overall Hotel Pellegrino was our favorite hotel experience on our trip, and we would definitely stay there again!

Our stay was fantastic. The quality of this place was 5 stars. Comfortable room, bed, and everything we needed daily. The family that runs it is amazing. Their level of customer service and attention to detail were outstanding. We stayed four nights, and the location of Praiano was perfect for us. It allowed us to visit Positano, which is only 10 to 15 minutes by car, and also head the other way and go to Amalfi and Ravello on other days. However, the town of Praiano, although quiet, is underrated. We went out for very nice walks, down to water or up to town. The restaurant inside this hotel is great as well. We didn't even bother going elsewhere for dinner, and we ate different things daily. One of the best things about this hotel is that they have a private parking garage, so getting our rental was an easy decision.

Nothing. It was all wonderful.
