I loved my stay at Casa Baj. Laura is an amazing host and it was such a pleasure to meet her precious little boy who came with her to work that day. The bed was one of the best I slept in in Italy. Laura has thoughtful touches like fresh jam cake in the kitchen and the best part, an idiot-proof espresso maker. Her lounge room is comfortable and serene. When it was too hot outside in the heatwave I was happy to relax in the spotless, air conditioned apartment till dusk till the temperature outside went down. I'll be back.

The check in was a little frustrating. I confirmed my arrival time and when I got there no one was there to let me in. I had to be let in by two other guests on their way out. They gave me Laura's number and I got a hold of her. It worked out in the end but still could be frustrating if your'e tired from traveling.

Laura was an incredible host and very communicative from the start. We felt very assured that we would be well looked after, which is exactly what we wanted after 24 hours of travelling to get there! Laura arranged an airport transfer for us and had the room set up waiting for us when we got there. The memory foam mattress was very comfortable for the two of us. The property is in a great location in Trastevere near some exquisite food, and close enough to walk into the heart of Rome. While the property is on a main road, the rooms are fully soundproof and we didn’t even know there were other people in the property let alone the traffic outside! Laura even arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the end of our stay to get us to our intercity train on time. Overall, a perfect start to our Italian adventure and I would love to come and stay at Palazzo Baj again! Grazie mille, Laura!

Very close to main sights and local bars. It's really comfortable and quiet. Lots of local buses and trams if needed. You can walk to places like the Coliseum and the Roman Forum. There are plenty of herbal teas and espresso coffees in the guest house and cake. We had the whole place for our family, and it was lovely to have a sitting area for us all. Laura was very welcoming, quick to answer queries, and she was really helpful in recommending transport and restaurants

There wasn't anything we didn't like. Some of us would like more fresh fruit for the breakfast bar

The rooms and facilities were great. Loved the little cakes and drinks in the foyer, such a nice touch. Laura was helpful and really lovely when booking us in. Loved the area where it was located, easy to walk to all the main sites and Trastevere was a charming place to stay and see hotels lots of lovely meals there.

The hotel would have been perfect except for the road noise. It is based on a very busy main road, and although they’ve tried their best to sound proof the rooms I found it really loud all night long and our first night it kept me awake most of the night. I went out and bought earplugs and the second night slept much better. Also Laura booked transfers for us and was quoted 50 euro each way but was charged 60 euros each way. She was very good to knock 10euro off the tourist tax, but something no to be aware of as it is a third party company.

Everything! This was our second visit, and we will visit again! The location, the lovely accommodations, the beautifully baked goods with caffe’ and water always available, to the amazing sites and restaurants within very close proximity! Laura and staff are kind, generous and friendly! 🧡🧡

We loved the different cake offerings each morning. We appreciated the local restaurant recommeded listing. Location of the nearest taxi stand was a short 2 minute walk. The fact that bus number 23 from Vatican City stopped right outside our accommodation, extremely handy when traveling back from the Vatican Museums. Also easy walk to the Colloseum from this location.

The location is absolutely perfect - walking distance to all the beautiful sites of Rome, and around the corner from all the best restaurants in Trastevere. The interior design is beautiful and the cakes and coffee in the lounge were a lovely bonus (I didn't get breakfast vouchers as mentioned in some other reviews, but the croissants and muffins set me up for the day!). A large, comfortable bed with good quality bedding and impressive sound-proofing on the windows. Laura was friendly and welcoming and I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends. As a lone female traveller I felt safe in the guest house and the area. The airport transfers Laura arranged all went perfectly too. Thank-you!

The shower head in my room could do with a clean - built up limescale means the water sprays in all directions and the water pressure isn't consistent, and it's too high up to reach it yourself to wipe it off. The plugs by the bed didn't work with any of my adaptors so I could only charge my phone on the other side of the room.

Palazzo Baj is situated in a great location. The rooms are very clean and very comfortable. The decor is modern and feels very well maintained. It was a lovely surprise to find the common area had daily snacks and a pod coffee machine for everyone to enjoy. The room was cleaned each day and it was a really lovely place to stay. Laura was incredibly friendly and recommended some amazing places to eat.

The only improvement could be to include some additional amenities e.g iron/ironing board.

The room was just beautiful and the location could not be beat. While it was right on the main road, the windows were truly sound proof, and it meant that it was both close to everything (ruins, Vatican, historical centre, Travestere dining), but not in the middle of all the Trastevere tourists. As many many have mentioned, Laura was simply lovely and most helpful. It was a bit of a splurge for us, but totally worth it.
