We booked a 2 bedroom suite and it had so much room for our group of 3 to spread out. It was great to have 2 bathrooms too. The hotel feels like you are in an old palace, but with modern amenities. There is a piazza just off the hotel which is convenient for grabbing a coffee, meal or afternoon drink. About a 10-15 minute walk to main attractions like St Marco and Rialto bridge, but the walk is through beautiful canals and tiny streets.

The palace is sumptuous, the suites well furnished and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is great too.

For me it wasn’t a problem but the palace is old and some rooms like suites are up and there’s no elevator. For the luggage no problem since the staff manage it but if you don’t like steps it might be a bother.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived that we were upgraded to a larger room with a full view of the Grand Canal. They had a last minute cancellation and let us take advantage. The dining was an amazing experience. We paid the upgrades to have breakfast and dinner on the balcony overhanging the Grand Canal, magnificent. It wasn't an inexpensive upgrade though, but for the trip of a lifetime, we decided to go for it.

We changed our dinner reservation, they didn't open until 7PM, and we had plans at 8:30PM. We asked if we could change to 7PM, and the man at the front desk said that they didn't open until 7PM. We said no problem, 7PM was good for us. You could tell that he wasn't pleased. As we walked away, he said in Italian to his coworkers that we probably wouldn't even show up. I made sure to tell him when we got there at 6:55PM, "Wow, not only did we show up, we're 5 minutes early."

Room was fantastic, spacious, comfortable bed, quiet, great amenities e.g. fridge, tea and coffee, hairdryer, view of the canal.

Stairs were steep and not a solid rail to hold on main staircase or up to the breakfast room.

It was exciting for us to arrive by water taxi, directly at the door of the hotel! The bellman assisted us off the boat and we were welcomed into this very unique property, once a 17th century home (actually previously two homes), now a hotel! It transported us back in time, helping us to envision what life might have been like many years ago. We were excited to be able to check into our room early, as it was ready upon our arrival. Our room was spacious and well-appointed, and we enjoyed the modern bathroom facilities. There was a fantastic common area, with a view of the grand canal. Though this common area room could be set up a bit better, we enjoyed it, nonetheless, sipping wine while watching the boats go by below us. We felt that the location was very good, walking distance to St. Mark's Square, though we initially needed directions, as it is very confusing to walk within Venice until you get your bearings! There were so many historical buildings and things to see nearby, and we walked over the Ponte dell' Accademia Bridge to Dorsoduro on both of our evenings for dinner. It was close and very accessible. Our reception desk assisted us in our day trip to Murano, with a complimentary water taxi to a working glass making factory. We truly enjoyed this experience (the boat ride and glass making demonstration) and appreciated this service and trip very much! We also visited Burano, a few minutes away. Both are must-dos! Overall, our experience was very good, and we would recommend the hotel.

We were surprised that there were so many stairs (no elevator)! We handled them ok, but for those who have mobility issues, this could have been a major issue. It would have been helpful to have been advised of this in advance. Also, thankfully we had wonderful staff to assist us with our heavy luggage! Also of note, the beds were a bit firmer than our taste, which made it a bit uncomfortable for us to sleep.

The staff at the front desk is absolutely amazing. When we arrived they somehow managed to make us feel really unique. They gave us recommendations, were extremely nice, attentive and welcoming. Conservatorio suite was amazing, the location of the hotel was the best and palazzo's interiors took our breath away. The way to the hotel from the square through the school of music was something special. This place definitely has genius loci.

Breakfast was a huge disappointment, for 40 euros per person there is almost no choice of food. Basically the money that you pay are for the view from the balcony. Definitely don't have breakfast, there are lots of different places in the neighborhood, you can enjoy the view from the balcony in the evening. Be ready for multiple stairs on the way to your room (we didn't mind but if you have heavy luggages and/or problems with your health this might be a huge minus) The bathroom was pretty bad - tiny, very old, no hot water sometimes, no pressure in the shower The bed and pillows could have been more comfortable Overall a little overpiced but you'll definitely remember it.

The Standard room is quite small, but well equipped. If you like the experience of living in old noble buildings, then this is the place to stay. Rooms and halls breathe with antiquity. Nearby are majestic churches and palaces, but kinda quite area. The breakfast room and halls have wooden ceilings, old paintings, antique furniture. The breakfast room has a view of the Palazzo Barbarigo and the Academy Bridge. There is a safe in the room, the shower cubicle is small and located in the middle of the room, completely made of wood and not curtained on one side. Be prepared for the floor to be cold and the heating not working during the spring/summer season, there are slippers in the room. Location 15 minutes walk (slow) to Piazza San Marco. Romantic, noble, quite location.

Wow, what a unique place. Each room a little different. We stayed in the Biblioteca. Huge room with view onto a courtyard. Restaurant and bar on the property with great views onto Grand Canal. Staff were very friendly and helpful to organize water taxis.

Our sink didn’t drain. We were just there a night so I used the bidet to brush my teeth. We let them know when checking out. I find there is never enough place in bathrooms to put things. This place was no different. Please put a small shelf or storage by the sink.

Our room was enormous! We were in the annex of the hotel because we booked the room only a few days in advance. The breakfast was the best one we had in Italy, The view from the balcony located in the dining room was beyond breathtaking. My husband and I had a glass of wine on the balcony overlooking the Grand Canal. It was so emotionally moving, I began weeping at the majestic beauty of the canal. My husband in reaction, booked us another week in Venice.

Our room was actually too large. I know sounds strange to complain about a too large room in Venice, but it had 2 bedrooms and a huge living room. Also, the spiral staircase spooked my husband. I liked it, but it was a tad tricky to navigate and at first we couldn't even find the room due to so many hallways. Still, it was a hotel like no other and we've stayed in Venice many many time
