It was located in a fantastic location. Very walkable distance from the Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station and to Siena Cathedrals. It was located inside the walls of Siena on a hilltop and the views of historic city from the bedroom and upstairs nook was spectacular. The property is very contemporary with high ceilings, neutral paint, and modern decor. The bathroom was nicely tiled and the shower, toilet, and sink very clean looking and modern looking. The bedroom was spacious and the bed very comfortable. I got a good night sleep every night. The host was very kind to us and thoughtful. He was quick to respond to all my questions and concerns. The breakfast was outstanding! It was such a good enjoyable experience staying at his place. I highly recommend it to someone who would like a good night sleep in a fantastic location with an outstanding breakfast.

The two nights we stayed at La Barriera di San Lorenzo were lovely. Nicolo welcomed us very well, he gave us several tips about the city, he helped us to book a delicious dinner and he updated us on the attractions open in the city on the days we were in Siena. He made the difference in our experience.The breakfast options to be served in the room were varied and it was all very fresh and tasty. The room is very well equipped and we loved the lodging. The location is great, around 7 minutes walking from city centre. I would love to return to Siena and stay once again in this lovely place.

The check-in process was extremely well-organized, with clear communication and updates provided via WhatsApp. The breakfast was excellent — you order it the day before, and the quality was top. The host also offered great insider information, which really enhanced my stay. The location is perfect: it’s not directly in the city center, but close enough to easily access everything while still being quiet and peaceful. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay!

Niccolò is the ideal host! He made us feel very welcome in Siena. He gave us a city map and information brochure and spent time talking with us after our first breakfast to ensure we had the best experience during our short time in this beautiful town. The room we stayed in is one of several beautifully appointed apartments in an historic mansion. The shower is larger than most, and we found the bed comfortable. Our view from our window out over the rooftops toward the cathedral was glorious. This accommodation is ideally situated for exploring Siena on foot, or going further afield from the nearby bus and train stations. It has every comfort required for a delightful stay. It's quiet, yet also very convenient to Siena's many attractions and excellent restaurants. This was definitely one of the favorite apartments we've stayed in during our time in Italy. The breakfast deserves a special mention. There is a generous breakfast menu. Niccolò catered without hesitation for my gluten allergy. He delivered breakfast to our room and very kindly arranged an early breakfast on the morning of our departure. Not only was our breakfast absolutely delicious but the presentation is a work of art. Thank you Niccolò and family, for a wonderful stay!

We loved our stay! Our only regret is that we were en-route to a wedding and unable to stay for longer. Another time... Thank you again!

The accommodation was impeccably clean, and the host was exceptionally welcoming, kind, and professional. He provided excellent recommendations for local restaurants, wine tasting venues, and weekly farmers' markets. The apartment was well-equipped with both air conditioning and Wi-Fi, and featured a large dining table that comfortably seats four. The bed was comfortable, complemented by spacious closets. Conveniently located near a bus station, it offers easy access to the SF train station. Lastly, the breakfast was truly AMAZING! I wholeheartedly recommend this place and look forward to returning on my next visit.

Perfect location, excellent facilities, just a lovely welcoming place to stay. The staff are excellent with communication before arrival and answering questions quickly. Breakfast was one of the best that we have had and we travel extensively so have experienced all sorts of offerings. The only thing they could improve is to provide a corkscrew as we travel with hand luggage only nowadays so cannot bring our own, this in itself is not a criticism but an opportunity to improve an already excellent experience

Very nice 2-etage room with a small "living room" with TV upstairs. Bedroom and bathroom on the first floor. Walking distance to places of interest, still very quiet rooms toward backside of house. About 1km from train station, easy to walk or bus. Piazza Gramschi with bus station (e.g. bus to Rome) is 5min away. Very good breakfast (many choices) delivered to room. Very helpful host helps with directions to hotel, sights and restaurants.

Our host Niccolo was amazing. The communication in person and via WhatsApp was second to none. We had a great room and a freshly made breakfast that was brought to us each morning. Facilities were perfect, and restaurant recommendations were spot on. Niccolo also organised breakfast early for us on the day we were leaving and a taxi to the train station. Highly recommend.

The host, Niccolo, was amazing and accommodating. We missed our train into town and were an hour and a half later than anticipated and he was very understanding. The neighborhood was quiet, the room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was amazing and brought right to our rooms! Niccolo even sat down with us the next morning and gave us some tips for touring the city. If we ever come back to Siena, we will definitely be staying here again!

The location was excellent if you have rented a car, being very close to a road where you can park, and the historic centre was starting right outside the rooms, so you couldn't get more far by car even if you wanted to. It was only a 10-minute walk to the central square. The room was modern, very clean and comfortable, exactly as it is shown in the photos. The host was the highlight of the accomodation, being super friendly and helpful and he was giving a menu of breakfast options out of which you could select whatever you wanted and he brought the breakfast to your room at a time you requested! The breakfast was very tasty and home-made.

Almost nothing. Perhaps the WiFi was not the fastest, but I think that's pretty much the story with the whole Tuscany area towns.
