Don’t be put off by the outside of the building or that it is next to the fruit & veg/ fish market barely can tell your next to it or hear any noises. Highly recommend this b&b the host, Alessandro, could not be more welcoming and accommodating. He messaged us before our visit with the check in information and how best to get to the B&B from the airport, recommendations during our trip and was always available to help. This b&b only has 3 rooms and all have a very Venezia/historical feel to them and very tidy spacious and clean. Location was perfect- 3min walk to the Rialto bridge which in my opinion is the best location as close to tourist and restaurants however not too close to the hustle of san Marco which is only a 10min walk. We could even get a water taxi pretty much outside our b&b to the train station on the way back so didn’t even need to cross the Rialto bridge. Breakfast was a light option however this is normal for Venice and there was plenty of choice down to crossiants, meats & cheese and yoghurts etc. there was also a coffee machine in the kitchen we can help ourselves to. We would high recommend the Antico Mercato to anyone planning a trip to Venice!

We loved everything!! The location of the appartment was close to all the important points, right next to Rialto. The room was stylish and elegant. Everything was spotless, it was the first hotel I have ever been to (and I've travelled a lot) that had perfectly white walls - no stains, no scratches, no cracks! Breakfast was delicious! Although we had the same for 3 days, we did not get tired of it and we had so many options!! The room was cleaned daily, the consumed snacks were replaced, the coffee machine made good espresso and cappucino, perfect for a new energy boost in the afternoon and for saving some money. The water dispenser was a blessing: not having to worry about buying water for the room, to have overnight, PLUS it gave cold sparkling water as well as still! Amazing! The heating works great, we were quite cold after walking along the canals in the evening, but the room heated up in minutes. The mattress was wonderful and the orthopedic pillows were a great surprise for us! The TV with Netflix was great to chill in the evenings. Alessandro was very kind an helpful and he prepared a surprise for us, since we were there on our honeymoon. It was absolutely great value for money!!

If I had to say something, it would be that the TV was a bit outdated, but it did not matter to us - one does not go to Venice to watch TV. 😊

Lovely B&B in a great location near the Grand Canal, markets & Rialto Bridge. Our room was spotless, spacious & the bed was really comfortable, with quality linen. Good choice of tea & coffee in the room, alongside some of the breakfast items. Chilled breakfast was in the lovely, clean kitchen & we were able to make our own hot drinks & fresh toast. Manager, Alessandro, was welcoming & friendly. He gave us lots of useful advice on where to eat & areas to visit, away from the tourist hot spots. Great value property, would highly recommend. Wish we could have stayed longer.

The apartment was spotless and in a fabulous location, 2 mins from Rialto Bridge, 1 min from Mercato de Pesce which is wonderful. The breakfast facilities and free food/drink offerings were extremely thoughtful and generous even home made cakes! Alessandro couldn’t have been any more pleasant or helpful with tips and restaurant recommendations and ideas for sightseeing. I really enjoyed having a sauna everyday, it sounds a bit whacky but it was brilliant and relaxing for the sore feet after miles of walking! The apartment was beautiful and furnished tastefully with Netflix available for rainy afternoons and the bathroom was very luxurious if a bit on the small side. I’ll definitely be returning! Nice rooms at a great location. Alessandro gave us a warm welcome and gave us all practical information we needed. For Italy it had a very nice breakfast in quite an original formula (every room had its personal tray with local products in a little fridge). Also important: great coffee!

The silicone of our shower could use a little make-over. Since the B&B was next to the fish market the smell of fish was really present in the narrow street. So opening the windows would not be a good idea :-). But inside the B&B and the rooms there was no problem at all.

The location is great, easy access to Rialto bridge. The breakfast, kitchen are well equipped and very good organized. The room size is bigger that we expected and very clean, and offer a 5 star flavor (beauty, slippers) Alessandro the host is magic! We liked him so much: he is very involved to recommend the best things to do for the city itinerary, restaurants and has all the tips and tricks of Venice. He is very careful with the guests.

The pillows were a little to big and uncomfortable for our taste, but this could be our subjective point of view.

A real treat in the heart of Venice, just a minute from the Rialto bridge and the waterbus, surrounded by cafes and shops, but so quiet and restful. The room was huge, with its own en suite and a breakfast corner with mini fridge and kettle, and additional access to a shared sauna and Jacuzzi, just right after a hard day's walking round Venice. Coffee, fruit and snacks available any time in the shared kitchen. Alessandro is a great host, with lots of tips for where to eat and what to do.

If you are looking for a nice place to stay in Venice, close to all the sights (round the corner from the Rialto Bridge), that won't cost a fortune - take a look at the Antico Mercato. It was very nice, very clean and very convenient. Alessandro was extremely helpful. He was very friendly and gave us many excellent tips on places to go and things to see. We had an excellent time.

We caught the wrong vaporetto by mistake, so read the directions carefully as I didn't. We liked the area, but some people might not. The Antico Mercato is clean, spacious and remarkably quiet, but it is in an old area. The alleys are perfectly safe, but they are quiet narrow and this might put some people off.

Alessandro is a wonderful host, his inside information and recommendations shaped our 3 night stay in Venice. The location is easily accessible from Santa Lucia station and Alessandro sent instructions well in advance. A breakfast tray is provided each day and it is well stocked with fruit, yoghurts, cold meat, cheeses etc. Breads, pastries and cakes are available in the dining area. We particularly liked the ground coffee and chilled water machines.....accessible at any time of the day.
