For a 2 star hotel, we were very happy with our stay. Our room was small, but had everything you needed for a few nights stay. We didn't spend much time in the room during the day, so the size was not an issue for us. It was clean, with comfortable beds, a safe, a desk, wardrobe, chair and bedside tables. The air conditioning was hugely appreciated! The ensuite bathroom was very small, but had everything you needed - and the shower pressure was great, with a rainfall shower head and hand held shower head. The location was great, very close to the canal. There were plenty of restaurants nearby, as well as a small supermarket to grab things from. Staff at the reception were very friendly and helpful. They gave us advice and answered any queries we had, even helping us to book a taxi for an early morning flight.

One thing that could be helpful in future would be another mirror in the room - there was one in the bathroom but not in the bedroom.

- Good location, right at the gateway to the main island of Venice, only 2-3 minutes walk from Ferrovia waterbus station - Friendly and supportive reception staff (I stayed in the spring but encountered cold weather, the city's policy did not allow the heating system to be turned on, but the hotel provided me with a mini heat lamp) - There is staff to clean the room every day

- The hotel is an old building (most houses on the island are like that), there is no elevator, but the ground floor has many rooms (you can contact the hotel in advance to get a room on the ground floor) - The reception desk is located at a nearby hotel (1 minute walk), but does not cause any inconvenience. - The furniture is quite old, the bed is not very comfortable.

Excellent 2 star hotel. Fantastic value for money. The hotel is in the perfect location. Can walk to main tourist attractions easily within 30 minutes or take the water bus and there's an Alilaguna stop nearby too if that's how you choose to travel from the airport. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned, beds were made and fresh towels every day.

The hairdryer wasn't very powerful but still did the job just took a little longer. The windows were slightly overlooked so had to keep the curtains closed whilst changing but rather than that not having windows.

The location: 2 minutes walk to the train station and to the vaporetto stop "Ferrovia" from where there are lines to piazza San Marco and another line to Murano/Burano/Torcello; another to isola di San Giorgio Maggiore. The bathroom was perfect, with hot water; and was very clean. The lady at the reception helped a lot and did not hesitate to answer my all questions.

I do not need TV on my holiday and I could have changed it to a better reading light and a chair or an electric kettle, but I understand that it is not possible to satisfy everyone's needs.

The room was ready much earlier than check in time and they allowed me to enter then. Friendly staff ready to help all the time. The location is just perfect! 5 min walking from Sant Lucia train station, 10 min from the bus station in Piazzale Roma. Just meter away from a nice local restaurant with very tasty food, on the way to the reception in Hotel Locanda Carettoni there is a great patisserie. The room size was good and the bathroom had everything from radiator to hang the towels to bidet, free toiletries and hair dryer. There is a desk with a chair to seat and TV. I would definitely come back.

The bed wasn´t very comfy, mainly the pillow. It´s not a luxury place but it´s very okay to stay several days in a quiet but well located area.

Location was good, though fair bit of travelling in an out of venice, which can take a bit long. Room was decent. Slightly small but workable. Staff friendly. Window opened into a bit of a storage area which wasnt necessarily great. For the price, found it valuable. Bed was comfortable.

Air conditioning heating not really controllable in the middle of winter. Room slightly small. Environment can feel claustrohpobic, but much of Venice may be, and our intention wasnt to really spend to much time indoors. Not necessarily romantic room, more utilitarian.

Great location. Just about 6 mins from train station. Easy check-in. Clean. Room is spacious. Bathroom is the usual small and minimalistic European bathroom. No elevator so if you have baggage ask for a ground floor because chivalry is dead and buried wherein the young man who works there will not even help you if you were to fall into the earth's core.

No elevator. You have to walk through a dark and lonely alley to get to venue. Looks like a place in a murder movie.

You won't find a kinder, more helpful host! The hotel is near the station, and the boat departure point. Great location .

The room was so small there was no space to circulate, even alone. It's very basic, the bed cover was damaged and the view was on a garden turned building site. Tiny tv, no kettle although the host kindly gave us one with 2 cups when we asked.

This hotel is certainly not the most modern one in Venice, but the pictures that you can see here on Booking are realistic: what you see is what you get. The room and bathroom were small, but very clean and quiet and gave out on a garden, so in the morning opening the window, you could here the birds whistle, which I found quite a privilege in Venice. The air conditioning worked well and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is just two minutes from the train station and that is such a huge advantage in a city like Venice, where you see plenty of tourists dragging their luggage for long distances through small streets and up and down bridges. Finally, the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming.

The location is easy to get to from the train station and easy to navigate from to other sites. I was upgraded to a room with a private bathroom which was great. While a tight room, it served the purpose of my brief two night stay. Nice and quiet. The staff were exceptional! Very kind and provided valuable information.

My room was very dark as the shutters needed to be remained closed. The window faced a concrete side entrance. It didn’t bother me so much as I was not there during the day much anyway. But it did make it feel a little somber.
