The general area was good. 20 minute walk to most places. It was conveniently located to get from the airport, to the train station, and to Murano and Burano. I would pick something in this area if not a little closer to the centre again. Room looked exactly like the photo and was imacculate. The receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly. It really feels like a family business and the kind of place you would like to return to again.

The pin on booking.com does not reflect the actual location of the property. It is actually located on Ramo Barbaro next to Ca D'Oro. You check in at another hotel and then get shown there. This is well communicated. It would be better if the property pin location was accurate to help with finding your way back on google maps. The property is located between bridges on the grand canal so it is a little time consuming to get across to rialto unless you have a water bus pass. We didn't spend much time there so that wasn't a big deal.

Great attentive service from the family run hotel, helpful information and great personal touches. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was spacious, very clean and had the most amazing views, our own little Venice. Loved the location, the area is vibrant and interesting and not too far from the main sites of interest. We felt the location has a good balance between tourists and where the local, 'real' people live.

Pleased to have been able to book the continental breakfast while visiting but would have preferred local products such cold meats, breads, cheeses rather than processed and would have led to us booking more than once.

We really liked the hotel! The rooms are very authentic, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Venice. The room is clean. The hotel is in a perfect location, slightly away from the noisy streets, but still very close to all the attractions and good cafes. If we come again, we would be happy to stay at this hotel many more times.

We didn't like the hairdryer; it's just outdated. The mini-fridge wasn't working. It would be nice to have tea/coffee in the room. But these are all minor issues that didn't spoil our vacation.

Really good location. A much quieter area of Venice, but still lots of restaurants nearby and easy to get to all the main attractions from. The staff were exceptional. Really friendly and helpful and made us feel so welcome! The facilities were basic and slightly dated, but had everything we needed and was good value for money.

It would have been useful to have a kettle/tea/coffee in the room, but this wasn’t a huge issue as there are lots of cafes near by.

The room was nice and clean, perfect venetian style furniture, bed really comfortable. The location is perfect: 2 minutes from the vaporetto station that comes from the train station, 2 minutes from the vaporetto station that goes to Murano and Burano, 10 mins away from Rialto bridge and lots of stores around, but it’s on a side street so it’s really quiet. The receptionists were really friendly, polite and helpful.

the only “negative” thing that I can say is that a couple of hooks for the towels in the bathroom would have been nice

Basically everything but I'll try to summarize. One of the most beautifully decorated rooms I've ever been to. It has (almost) everything you need for your stay. It was also very clean with our towels changed daily. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The weather was colder than expected but the heating was working and the temperature in the room was perfect. The area is very quiet, yet very close to the main street from the station and on ~15 minutes walking distance to almost everything. I should say that for some people it might be a bit far away because it is 20+ minutes from the main station (we walked, not sure if you can take a boat and make it shorter). Carrying your luggage all the way might be tiresome for some people. We didn't mind it because you do it twice, when you come and when you leave. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were also allowed to leave our luggage in the hotel after our check-out.

Just a couple of tiny details that didn't influence our experience at all. There was no place to hang our towels, so we had to use the chairs for it. The reception is in the next hotel. Not a problem at all for us, but I guess if someone wants to talk to the people there in the evening, it might be a bit inconvenient to walk 3 minutes.

The view from our room was just amazing! We had lovely views over the canals, which had lovely sunsets at night. The bed was so comfortable, and we had such a good nights sleep. There are no lifts which was no trouble for us, but there was a stair lift to the rooms. Staff on check in were so attentive, and gave us a map with highlighted places to visit/ eat at. They helped us with advice on getting to Murano and Burano, and made the stay nice and easy.

Nothing.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The lady at check in gave us a map, told us where the main sites are, what route to take, recommended where to eat etc. She also offered to keep our baggage after check out while we strolled around the city on our last day. The place is very clean and comfy, in a quiet neighbourhood, far from the crowds so you get a lot of peace and quiet. The room has a big tv, comfy beds, a good little fridge, the bathroom is spacious. It's only a 15 min walk to San Marco square and only 5 min away from the Fondamente Nove vaporetto stop that takes you to Cimitero San Michele, Murano, Burano, Torcello.

The room was very quiet and in a great location- away from the really touristy area but close to lots of great cafes and restaurants and with easy access to two different water bus stops. The bed was firm and very comfortable, and the room was clean and everything worked great. Staff was extremely helpful, friendly, and welcoming- would recommend staying here on this point alone, as they will make every aspect of the stay easy and welcoming. Check in was easy, even though you have to check in at a different hotel nearby- they make finding it very easy and then walk you to your accommodation down the street. Would stay here again!

The room didn't look quite like the pictures shown- it was much simpler and plainer, which was a small disappointment.

Hotel At Leonard is more of an annexe to another hotel a short walk away. The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming, checked us in and walked us round to our hotel. Air conditioning was wonderful (arriving at Venice’s train station and walking on a very hot July afternoon was a sweaty affair). Our rooms were fine, very comfortable, mine more spacious than my daughters. The windows opened on to a quiet alley, shuttered with the heat, so don’t expect a view from the room. Bathroom was well equipped and spacious...NO noisy plumbing you might expect from an older building. The hotel was a very short walk to a small piazza, Campo Dei S Apostolic, with cafes, bars and a gelatteria. As it was Venice, a picturesque canal to be found in all directions from the hotel door. The Grand Canal water bus stop Ca’d’Oro was a few minutes walk from the hotel, giving a direct link to the train station. We walked from the station, and despite the heat, got to the hotel in around 20 minutes. The hotel is well placed to take a walk to Piazza San Marco, or water bus to anywhere! Venice’s main streets, and water buses, are noisy, often crowded and frenetic. The hotel was an oasis of calm, with wonderful air conditioning.

Nothing. Some visitors may find the idea of checking in at one hotel and being taken to another strange, but it wasn’t a problem for us. The main staircase had the strange addition of a chairlift, not sure if it was functional, but again, in a hotel without a lift....
