The owner is absolutely gorgeous & so helpful! He went out his way to offer us a lift to the station once for our Fuji climb and once for our train to Kyoto, he printed out the bus instructions for us, He let us in slightly early after our climb for check in too! We loved how authentic and cosy it was - additionally he let us leave our bags with him whilst we slept overnight on the mountain. Views of Fuji from our balcony too! Aircon works lovely & he offered a free drink to everyone per night in the fridge. He goes out of his way which was just spectacular. Would definitely recommend to a friend.
There is only one toilet which could be tricky at times & the station is 30 mins away (things I know he can’t change but just so you’re aware before you arrive)

Great stay in Fujikawaguchiko! The staff are very responsive both online and in person (you can call staff using a button within the accommodation). Our room was spacious and the futons were comfortable. I liked the shared bath (you can lock the doors for privacy), which has 2 showers, faucets in the middle that you can fill a bucket with (very hot and cold water), and a big bath with hot water. The price was also excellent given that we went in mid-November when the foliage was beautiful. We especially liked that we could rent bikes from the property- 2 regular (500 yen each) and 2 electric (2,000 yen each) for the whole day. The owner personally informed us about each of the features on the property and was kind enough to give us a ride back to Kawaguchico station before our bus left. The location is good, in a residential area not too far from a pretty area of the lake, 7 min walk from 7/11 and some of the most local restaurants I've been to (the owner will inform you about them when you get there). Overall, the attention to detail and making us feel welcome was fantastic- I'd stay here again!
Nothing, all around great experience!

Accessible from the bus line (Green line). Owners are very nice and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Ac worked great and loved all the windows in the room I had. There are screens on all the windows! Mt Fuji is visible and great to see and admire. It’s not a full view. Other homes are in the way but you see the peak. Shared fridge and shared bathrooms. Showers are Not separate for men and women. Close to the park which has wonderful views of Mt Fuji during breaks in the weather. Some restaurants near by but most are 10-15mins walk away. Bus lines do stop running early (4ish depending on the bus stop). Very quiet neighborhood. Do your research if you’re climbing the mountain, the rules and climbing visitation has changed in 2024.
The distance from everything and that most places closed fairly early. Out of their control. No kettle for tea or coffee. I did get locked in the home on my last day. The owners were quick to come and unlock the door for me to leave but it was a quick thought of safety if it was an emergency. Maybe an electric button lock for the door would be best for securing overnight? Especially if someone wants to be out late or need to leave early. Just a thought. Overall, I had a great stay and had no issues or concerns. Would recommend.

This place is pretty typical of a ryokan, but the hosts are incredible people that make it extra special. They unexpectedly upgraded my room to a bigger one with a Fuji view, invited me to join them for dinner at a sushi place, and drove me to the bus station for my departure. Phenomenal service. It's easy to access from the Green Line (Saiko Sightseeing Bus), but is not close to all the shops, restaurants, etc. I love to walk, and the hosts rent bikes and e-bikes, so for me the location was not an issue, but something to consider if you'd rather be closer to the action.

Had a wonderful stay here. Lovely, friendly and helpful couple run this traditional Japanese style house. I arrived early but they switched rooms around so I could check in early. The onsen style bath is such a bonus to relax in after a long day exploring. Perfect location to explore the area, especially useful to be able to rent a bicycle from here directly and ride around the entire lake. Some amazing views of Mount Fuji. Special mention for Yagizaki park which is just a few minutes away, very peaceful place to relax. Shops/cafes nearby and the station itself is walkable. Like others I also got a lift to the station when checking out which was a special touch and way to end the stay. Highly recommend.

One of the best stays you could find in Lake Kawaguchiko. Overall, the place is reachable by bus (if you know which line to take), other than you could just walk from Kawaguchiko Station. It was a traditional Japanese house. The room and facilities were exactly same as the pictures. The room was spacious and clean, the WiFi connection was good, overall I was very satisfied. The host was friendly and helpful, he even offered to take me to Kawaguchiko Station too!

Everything about this stay was amazing! The owner is very friendly and helpful, the room is spacious and awesome with good facilities like a heater which we definitely needed! Such a beautiful area which is very local, but still pretty easy to get around from here! Renting bikes was the highlight for us as we saw all of lake kawaguchiko so so easily and had an awesome day, when we got back we were treated by the large onsen style bath to enjoy and warm up! We had large suitcase and the owner happily took us to the station when we checked out which is so kind. Amazing place to stay!!
Only hard thing is finding places to food if you are just walking everywhere, although the owner recommends two great restaurants so try them!! Would be so easy if you had a car!

Wonderful hospitable owner who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. The property has a bicycle rental where you can rent either electric or regular bicycles to explore the surrounding area. WiFi worked well. Futons were cozy and the place itself was cozy in Japanese style. Despite the heat, we stayed nice in cool as the air conditioning worked wonderfully.
Everything was wonderful!

The property is well placed next to Lake Kawaguchi, less than 10 minutes cycle away. The property is a short bus journey or taxi from Kawaguchi station. The property is extremely well managed and very clean. The staff were exceptional, not only did they allow me an early check-in, they gave me a free room upgrade, and also gave me a tour of the area and took me to some restaurants for lunch and dinner! I couldn’t believe how brilliant they were. I can’t recommend this place more!

It was an excellent experience to spend some time in the real Japanese house. It's different a lot from our European or American houses. In the room, which was very specious, there was only a small table and a couple of pillows on which we sit, instead of a bed there a was a matress with a duvet and a pillow. The full floor is covered with "Tatami" which are traditional mats. There are some extendable Japanese screens. The house is made only with wood and has a wonderful atmosphere and smell. Owner of the house was extremely nice and helpful, at the end of my stay he gave me a lift to the train station with no extra fee.
