My whole experience was great from check in to check out. Front desk staff was amazing at being able to communicate with me in English. They were also very thorough in explaining the amenities offered on this property. Once I got to my room I was so happy to see how clean and spacious the room was. The bathroom was spotless, the room was sound proof and the bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. Additionally the breakfast staff was so friendly and the food tasted amazing. I would highly recommend staying here.

The staff were extremely helpful, the room had all the amenities, the location was insane! We loved Kobe and Luminous is right at the heart of Sannomiya.

The breakfast was pretty lame. Very meager selection for a breakfast. Rice and soup for breakfast? No good. Also, the room could've been a bit cleaner. The TV cabinet was full of dust bunnies.

Location is very close to the main station (but not the Shinkansen station), many shops and facilities. There is a 7/11 convenience store almost opposite. Our De Luxe twin room was large and very pleasant, with a large window and natural light. Worth the extra payment if you have a longer stay to get the space.comfy hote

The breakfast is more suited to Japanese travellers - generous and lots of variety but not many choices for western tastes. There is no bar at the hotel, and no restaurant for lunch or dinner, though there are plenty of restaurants nearby.

Good location 3 blocks from main station, 3 blocks from Chinatown, across the street from a large 7-Eleven. Everything in room worked perfectly. Front desk was friendly and helpful, but little English. Room was super clean and nicely refreshed daily.

Bed was too hard. Breakfast was not good for most foreigners. The one western item, besides corn flakes, was watery, undercooked scrambled eggs . Bread was tasteless. We lived in Japan for 8 years and ordinarily we like Japanese breakfasts. But not this one. Service was good.

Stylish hotel, lovely staff, fantastic view over Kobe from 17th floor

Extremely noisy building sites directly alongside and opposite. Work began at 8 am and finished at 5pm and the soundproofing did not block out the constant banging. Luckily we only had 2 nights and a full itinerary but be warned, this is not the place to relax during the day.

Everything felt luxurious. Staff was very helpful even when we arrived late at night. Room was very spacious, beds really comfortable, bathroom super big. The view spectacular. Big TV. Check-in really smooth. After having to cancel a booking in another place it was amazing to find this place at the last minute. It exceeded my expectations.

Rooms were clean and comfortable with plenty of appliances. Good shower.

Although it is clear the rooms were ready when we arrived at the hotel, we were not allowed to check in until the advertised check-in time. Seemed a bit inflexible.

I booked this hotel based on the other reviews: nice breakfast, quiet room, good location. All of those ended up being perfect for our stay. We were all very happy with the Luminous hotel and I would stay here again if I ever come back to Kobe. The staff were friendly, too.

We found the location was excellent, the parking facilities were good, the room was very pleasing, and the staff were very helpful.

For the cost of our room and parking, there was nothing that we felt could be improved.
