Breakfast was good with a mix of Japanese food and also things like croissants and bread rolls. It was constantly restocked. The WiFi was good and there was a fridge and a kettle in the room. In reception there were free toiletries and tea bags. It was very close to the train station and quiet at night. It was easy to change the temperature of the room using the remote. All the staff were very helpful and friendly.
It would have been nice to have coffee available in reception as well as tea. Fresh coffee is only available in the morning. The remotes were a little confusing at first because there was no English explanations.

The hotel was a bit close to Nagano station, on the side where you take the buses that take you out of the city. It's generally more quiet than the other side of the station. The room I was given is spacious for single occupancy so it didn't feel cramped. The room I had did not have a closet but they do provide a clothes rod with multiple hangers available to put your coats or jackets on. Housekeeping only happens after your 4th night stay with them. Since I was usually out the whole day, I did not mind this. But some people may opt for it to happen more often so it's best to ask the staff about this. I really liked that they give you the option to bring your breakfast with you into your room- they provided take out containers you can fill up if you don't want to spend time eating with the others on the 14th floor. They had a lot of options for food. For my last day, since I was catching the earlier shinkansen schedules to Tokyo, I was able to bring my breakfast and coffee with me into the train.
Only 7Eleven was the closest convenience store to the hotel. The nearest grocery was around 20mins walk from the hotel. But there's a nearby Hotto Motto for a quick meal fix.

The location is great, the breakfast was varied and good (and on the top floor with beautiful views), they had a lounge area on the top floor of the hotel as well, where you could hangout. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and there was a park right across the street where our 7 year old could run around a bit. We took the Shinkansen in and easily walked to the hotel with luggage despite it snowing.
Nothing! Just an observation that the breakfast area is a bit small, however, they allow you to take to-go containers back to your room.

The breakfast in the morning was the highlight! They provide takeaway or dine in options for breakfast and the spread is a mix of western and japanese food. Really enjoyed the meal especially the soba! Staff were friendly and used translator devices to converse with us. Room was spacious and hotel located near nagano station, not much food options nearby but there’s a convenience store & takeaway place (hotto motto).
Hotel have rule they don’t change bedsheets daily so no housekeeping was provided during my stay. Only towels were hanged outside the door everyday.

Amazing view (my room was on the 12th floor) so I could enjoy the view and didn't even use the TV - this was much better. Breakfast was good but after 8.30 am is fewer things to offer.
Check-in on booking is wrong - it is written 00:00 to 00:00 but it is from 4 pm.

Took the triple room and it was very spacious. Was also pleasantly surprised that one of the beds was even a small double bed. WiFi was good and fast, and there were 3 washing machines and 2 dryers available for laundry. Washing machine needed ¥200 per 30-min wash (with extra ¥30 needed for a detergent packet at the detergent dispenser next to it) and dryer needed ¥100 per 12-min drying. The staff were also very helpful and friendly, and able to help in English. The toilet was also very clean, though it didn’t have a lock on the door.

Perfect for solo travelers on a budget. Location is close to the station and there's a nearby convenience store too. Room is cozy enough and bed is big for 1 person. Breakfast buffet is also good and you can take it down your room if you don't like crowds. They also do luggage transfers (Yamato TaQbin) if you need.
Nothing in particular. This place is recommendable for solo travelers and would also probably be good for families/couples too since the hotel room is spacious enough.

Location is very convenient but not crowded. Midori store and Nagano station are within approx 700 m by foot. The room is super clean! The design and its color make the room looking larger than it is which is very advantage. The parking is also available with affordable fee, even cheaper than another places. Breakfast is good and fresh with a view of mountains. The staff is super helpful. Compared to the price, this hotel is valued every penny.

I heard many stories about Toyoko Inn hotels being very basic and tiny. Well, I just want to say that I got a triple room and it was fabulously large! We had 3 beds, 2 super single and 1 queen sized bed. We were able to push the 3 beds together to form a super large bed. My children were overjoyed at a humongous playground and could do 2 consecutive cartwheels from end to end. There was enough space for a nice sofa and large dressing table/console. Overall, the room was super comfortable, and we were very happy to have booked such a room. Not all Toyoko Inn hotels have such a room unfortunately, so this was a real bonus! Breakfast comes with the tariff and to fair, while some of the staples didn't change, there was definitely rotation of some dishes every day for the 4 nights we were there. The food was good, and the variety although not too wide, was sufficiently wide enough to keep your interest every morning. The breakfast room had a very nice touch where the windows facing the surrounding mountains were etched with a graphic giving the names of all the peaks in the distance - what a lovely touch! Location was good. We were fairly near the Nagano train station and the accompanying food streets and shops. We took a longer time to cover the distance as we had 2 little kids on strollers and we had to use multiple lifts to get down to street level. But if you can use the escalators, the hotel is within 5-7 min walk from the Nagano train station. While we were there, there was a Nagano Christmas Market just across the road from the hotel lobby. The staff were superb and helped us forward our luggage to the next stop despite hardly speaking a word of English. The use of the translation device (that all hotels in Japan have them now) was very useful and we managed to get by quite easily.
Nothing really!

The breakfast food is good, but the room is a little bit small, it takes some time to find a table to sit at. The location is not in the central area, and I didn't find the shops and restaurants nearby. It's located in a residential area, and it's very quiet. The room is bigger than other place.
