The hotel is beautiful, well-maintained and a short walking-distance to several metro stations. The staff was friendly and communicates well in English. The room was spacious and nicely furnished, with all the utilities one can think of. I slept very well during the night as the room is soundproof.

The hotel is located on a hill, which I hiked several times until I found out there is an accessible entrance through the adjacent building, from the main street. Once I realized that, reaching the metro station was an easy 5 minutes walk.

I booked the upper floor king room with a bath view. The room was absolutely spectacular. It has amazing views of Tokyo and Tokyo Tower as well (you could even see Tokyo Tower when you were in the bath!). The staff were incredibly friendly and courteous and the room was very clean. They also did a turndown service each night where they will tidy up the room and leave origami on your bed and some chocolates - a wonderful touch. The location is good, taxis can take you wherever you want and they have many parked outside waiting for customers. Alternatively you can take the train which is a short 10 minute walk, but be prepared to walk uphill when you return if you get off at Toranomon station.

Nothing, the place was fantastic.

Beautiful interior and a real sense of calm. A luxurious and refined hotel with a strong Japanese identity whilst being utterly modern and up to date. A fabulous place to stay in Tokyo.

Location is sleepier than others but very well connected. So for those who want to be right in the midst of the bustle it won’t suit - but it’s so quick to get to those parts of the city it was a nice reprieve to be in quieter settings.

This hotel is exquisite. We stayed in a junior suite in the heritage section. The room was beautiful, there was a steam room that functioned well, large bed, beautiful views, extremely comfortable to spend the day in. The spa and gym were very good. Well equipped gym, very good steam and sauna, large pool and great shiatsu massage. The staff were helpful, housekeeping excellent, delicious chocolates at bedtime, free mini bar and it goes on.

I was disappointed in the quality of the restaurants for the exceptional standard of everything else. The breakfast was good but not compared to the Ritz in Fukuoka. The dinner buffet in the Orchid was expensive and fairly standard. We ate in the Japanese restaurant. Had the tempura, very bad batter, extremely small shrimp. Had some sashimi expensive and not top notch. Was unable to go to the Nouvelle Epoque as it had a set meal most of the time and the one night there was al a carte it was full! Also disappointed after an 8 day stay they couldn’t even give us an extra hour on the check out.

Beautiful, sleek, stylish hotel that combines traditional and modern Japanese design aesthetics. Staff are amazing. Swift, unobtrusive service. Nothing is too much effort. Location is great. V near to several Metro stations. It only took us 25 mins by taxi to get to Haneda airport on a Saturday morning from the Okura.

Location was in a very quiet part of Tokyo, somewhat far from railway stations, and the entrance to the hotel was difficult to find when on foot - clearly most guests are driven here... The staff were exceptional, helpful, always available, and did what they said they would. Clearly a great asset to the hotel. Our room on L35 was beautiful, tranquil and very highly specced. A haven from the busy city.

The cocktails served on L41 were very small - could be at least double the size we were served and still be within normal sizing. We never tried the breakfast buffet, due to somewhat negative feedback online, but also the price ($36 per person) - it would have to be an exceptional breakfast to justify this, and there was no evidence online that it was exceptional.

We had a family room/suite overlooking the Tokyo Tower and it was well worth it. The view from the bath and the room was spectacular! We felt welcome from start to finish. The staff were very polite and happy to accommodate us at breakfast with our 1.5 year old son, including traditional Japanese breakfast restaurant. Nothing was too much trouble. We loved the electric black out or shade blind which made our 1.5 old son sleep way longer and helped with the time zone adjustment. It’s worth mentioning that the hotel looks impeccable, every picture we took of the lobby could be on a magazine cover. I can vouch for the cleanliness, as our little one was literally trying to go everywhere learning to walk and crawling around and the floors passed the test of being super clean! :) Also, I liked that the atmosphere wasn’t too uptight, despite being very courteous, which made us feel welcome at the start.

The spa was well equipped but a bit bare. Some plants or gentle music would add some ambience.

The Okura is our favorite hotel in Tokyo, a city of many great hotels. The location is in a quite upscale area near the US embassy. The facilities are wonderful with a classic lobby and always beautiful flower arrangements. The service is exceptional. The rooms are very spacious and extremely comfortable.

Nothing.

The Okura was a magical experience from beginning to end . Stepping out of time for the duration of stay . We tried the restaurants and the 2 bars . The one on the top floor was deceiving in terms of cocktails quality but the one downstairs totally recoup the losses with an amazing nightcap vibe and extraordinary staff . The staff was amazing for the full stay with exception of the check out concierge that honestly tainted the goodbye experience.

The concierge at the check out was very rude . We have noticed that the payment already has been done and we requested her to verify. Despite our patience and understanding she acted really annoyed and displayed a displeased and rude attitude that i honestly have never seen before in costumer service in Japan, that really came across as “just pay and stop taking my time” It really damaged our experience that has been flawless until the end.
