I chose this hotel because of it's location - about 5 minute walk from the bus station - and because it had rooms with bathtubs available. I loved the excellent soundproofing they had done to the rooms, couldn't hear anyone talking, watching TV or snoring. Both the room and bathroom were spacious and tastefully simple. The amenities in the bathroom included a really good hair conditioner and body lotion. The coffee and tea making facilities in the room were in good working order and equipped with good quality tea selection. The mini bar was also well stocked, although I didn't actually use anything from there. The staff is very helpful and professional, very fluent in English, too. The buffet-style breakfast had everything a frequent traveler has become accustomed to when staying in hotels - hot options like scrambled and boiled eggs, sausages and bacon, pancakes and oatmeal, everything you need to make a sandwich (including a toaster), hot and cold drinks. It also had steamed vegetables and roasted potatoes. I was very pleasantly surprised to find a well stocked salad counter full of fresh vegetables, various dressings and even pickles - I thought I had taken an elevator to Italy :)

If you're looking for a room with a view, this is not a place for you, the street is rather narrow and even the rooms on higher floors and with balconies don't give anything more to look at than a slice of a cobbled stone street and the spa hotel across the street. The hair dryer in my room was working alright, but seemed rather old and for a moment I thought if it was safe to use it. I also didn't find any stationery to take notes - hotels usually have those, even when it's just a few pages of paper and a pencil.

Bath is very high and there is no shower - could be a problem for elder or limited people to get in and out Beds are comfortable but very low Balcony is quite small no furniture and is facing main street - not for morning or afternoon coffee, but for smokers like us it was a prefect solution But all the above are really minor things, overall - its a great place to stay.

We recently stayed at a hotel in Riga and were generally satisfied with our experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. The room was fine, offering what we needed, though nothing particularly stood out. What really made our stay enjoyable was the location—right in the heart of the city center, making it incredibly convenient for exploring Riga's attractions. Another highlight was the breakfast, which was quite decent, and we particularly appreciated that it was served until 11:00 AM, allowing us to sleep in a bit longer than usual. The check-out time of 12:00 PM was also a pleasant surprise, as it's a rarity and gave us a relaxed morning on our departure day. Overall, while everything met our expectations, we didn’t feel there was anything extraordinary that would merit a score higher than an 8. However, it’s a solid choice for anyone looking to stay in the center of Riga with good service and reasonable amenities.

However, we did notice that the hotel shows signs of age, and at times, it felt quite outdated. Additionally, the cleanliness in our room could have been better, which detracted somewhat from our overall comfort.

We got a very big, nice and clean room, breakfast was tasty, with the everything you need, the hotel is in a great location, not overcrowded, close to the main points of interest and the train station. The room and the hotel itself is on a quiet street, and the beds were comfy.

We communicated with the hotel through the booking regarding the early check in a few days before the trip, and we were promised that they will try to arrange it at no cost. On the day of the check in I received another message, asking us again when we will be checking in, even though everything was discussed earlier. When we arrived to the hotel, the receptionist just said that "The check in is at 14:00", without offering us to leave our luggage at the storage room, until I have asked for it.

Hotel was centrally located for the Old Town and other amenities. Receptionist was very welcoming upon arrival. Reception area was itself quirky and interesting. The Room was as expected and more than comfortable enough for the stay. Took up the option of breakfast which, although basic, had more than sufficient options to satisfy most needs.

There was, and still is, ongoing work on the building's facade. However, this will enhance the charm and beauty of the exterior when completed. This did not present a problem to myself but may to other guests.

The hotel met expectations: close to the train station, right next to the old town of Riga. The administrator was kind, we arrived early enough, but she allowed us to keep things in the luggage room, offered to reserve a table in the desired restaurant. The room was warm, clean, cozy, the bed and pillows were comfortable. A pleasant surprise - earplugs for guests who sleep more sensitively, we didn't need them, because it was quiet enough both in the hotel and from the street. Breakfast was very good: a large selection of hot and cold dishes, delicious vegetables, perfectly cooked eggs, delicious coffee, pleasant staff.

The location!!! Just perfect, a stone's throw from everything. So central yet quiet. There was a lovely restaurant just behind where we had such a delicious meal. The staff!!!! The girls at the reception are so lovely and smiley, but especially one - I am so sorry I cannot remember your name (we've now been back for a Month), but I do remember your blonde hair and deep blue/green eyes! You were so amazing with us with all our questions - thank you. We really appreciated the suggestions on what to see, explore, where to eat, the coolest places, and the little map where you marked these spots for us! We went to the beach one day, following your suggestions of where to go, and couldn't have loved it more! It made our holiday! Again thank you for everything - my sister loved the magnet I brought her!

I thought there wasn't too much choice for breakfast - the setting's lovely, but the service could definitely benefit from a couple other things especially cold cuts or jams

It is very good location and you can arrive every important places by walking in Old Town area.It is also not far away from the airport.We arrived to the hotel by bus in 33 minutes.The breakfast is varied, you are satisfied with the breakfast.The staff is friendly and helpful.They help you abiut everyhing with a friendly smile.That's why we didn't feel like strangers.The price is reasonable for a couple.You can stay in the hotel with a peace of mind.Thank you to the all staff.

We were travelling through Scandinavia and the Baltic States, with light general aviation aircraft, and had planned to land in Riga and stay at the Rixwell Old Riga Palace too visit Riga. However, on sunday 23 june, while flying from Estonia, we encoutered poor weather, and had to divert to land and spend the night in Kuresaare. We contacted the hotel in Riga and they kindly waived the no-show fee. The weather was unfortunately still very bad on Monday 24, thus we flew directly from Kuresaare to Kaunas, Lithuania, without landing in Latvia. Let's hop we can return to Riga inthe future, and we would definitely stay at the Rixwell Old Riga Palace !
