The staff are lovely, very helpful and take the initiative in helping visitors. Their English language skills are fluent. The location is excellent, right in the middle of the Old Town, hence the hotel name. It's quiet at night. The weather was chilly but the rooms were delightfully warm. The breakfast if it's included in your deal is very good without being excessive, with a choice of hot and cold food. Many Latvian food restaurants are nearby to try. The food in Riga is generally very good especially if you like Central/ Eastern European /Nordic type food which we do. But there are other ethnic and fast food choices in the area too. We took the 22 bus from the airport, 1.50 euros and a short walk from drop off to the hotel.

No lifts for two fit 70 year old friends who found the stairs, in addition to the cobble stone roads, a bit hard on older joints but it didn't spoil our visit. ( The Receptionist helped me take my case downstairs and had we not been such old stoics and had asked them to help I'm sure they would have done it upstairs). My friend's room was in a different section and had so many stairs and such a low dormer ceiling she was unhappy and complained about the room, but the staff graciously changed her room to one more like mine on the second floor ( which is the first floor in British terms), so had fewer stairs and a normal height room.

Excellent Stay in the Heart of Riga’s Old Town I recently stayed at this hotel in the center of Riga’s Old Town and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. The location is unbeatable – you’re right in the middle of everything, with all the major attractions, restaurants, and shops just a short walk away. It’s the perfect base for exploring the city. The hotel itself offers outstanding conditions. My room was clean and very comfortable, with all the amenities you could need for a pleasant stay. What stood out the most was the staff. They were incredibly friendly and helpful, always available to provide recommendations, assist with any requests, or simply greet you with a warm smile. Their professionalism and kindness truly made my stay even more enjoyable. In summary, if you’re looking for a hotel that combines comfort, excellent service, and an ideal location in the heart of Riga, this is the perfect choice. Highly recommended!

The location of this hotel is great; its in the middle of the old town. The room was spacious and even though the furniture looked a little old it was quite comfortable. The bathroom was also very spacious. The staff was very anxious to meet our needs. Breakfast had a good choice of cold cuts, cheese, cereal and the staff made fresh egg dishes for us. Our flight left in the afternoon and it was possible to leave our luggage for a couple of hours at the hotel so we could take another stroll through old town before we had to go to the airport. We only stayed one night and it was absolutely perfect!

Great location - right in centre of old town. Easy bus ride from airport. Staff were friendly and spoke English. Hotel is quaint, comfortable and very clean. Good size room and comfortable bed. Good wifi.

We paid for breakfast but were only able to get hot options on one day out of three - staffing? Apart from that breakfast was good quality continental cold fare. Although there was a radiator in the room we were unable to get any heat.

Exceptionally good location, beautiful building, very friendly staff members at reception

Breakfast: only cold food was served (e.g. boiled eggs that were taken out from the fridge) without pre-information that you can actually ask for warm/fresh food and there are options to choose. I am not sure whether it was related to the hotel's saving policy or with the restaurant's staff member who was reluctant to inform this without the visitors needing to ask about addditional warm options (many of guests that did not ask, did not have warm/fresh options). Also, this is not a drawback but something to keep in mind, if you come by car, you may pay up to 20 eur. for the spot in the hotel's parking area for a single night.

Small and comfortable hotel in the centre of Riga. It is very close to the main attractions of the old town. Breakfasts are served in the hotel restaurant with a respectable interior. Surprisingly, the main course is prepared individually a la carte. The rest of the dishes are presented at the buffet. The hotel rooms are clean and have a "vintage feel". Of particular note is the huge guest book on the table in the lobby. Don't miss it!=)

I had the pleasure of staying at the Old Riga Boutique Hotel "Vecriga" from July 17 to July 20, and it was an outstanding experience that I heartily recommend to anyone planning a trip to Rīga. The hotel sits in a prime location, making it an excellent base for exploring the city. Tucked amidst the historic charm of Rīga, it's a convenient starting point for numerous sightseeing adventures. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the hotel's modern aesthetics, which seamlessly blend with the historical ambiance of Old Riga. It's clear that careful thought has been put into the design and decor, and it strikes the perfect balance between comfort and sophistication. Every aspect of the service was up to the standard you would expect from a 4-star hotel. The staff was professional, courteous, and always eager to help, making my stay hassle-free. The rooms were impeccably clean and well-appointed, providing all the necessities and luxuries for a comfortable stay. The tranquility of the surroundings ensured a good night's sleep after long days exploring the city. In conclusion, the Old Riga Boutique Hotel "Vecriga" exceeded my expectations, providing a comfortable and enjoyable stay that truly enhanced my visit to Rīga. With its great location, modern looks, and high-level service, it truly deserves its 4-star rating. I look forward to returning on my next visit.

Great location!

It's difficult to call it Boutique hotel. I guess in a sense it is boutique that it's small but the photos are either old or airbrushed. It's tidy, but not cozy. Popcorn walls, 90s bathroom with fresh caulk over moldy seams. A modern bathroom mirror with backlight just makes the whole thing look even more dated. I guess my main complaint is that it's rather misrepresented in the listing. If it's vintage, own it and maintain it - there's nothing wrong with vintage.

Excellent location, walking distance to the heart of Riga and to many places of interest. Nice old house, well renovated, but still a bit old-fashioned. The staff was super nice, friendly and always willing to arrange everything. Breakfast was excellent, very tasty and again a perfect service. When arriving by car, there is a parking lot, but you will need unload on the street, carry luggage in one direction and drive the car in the other direction. Just a few steps to walk finally, but be prepared, tight streets in an old town.

All good, in fact, just details to be aware of: Some rooms have windows facing less nice backsides, interior of the average rooms has a style according to the age of the hotel, not modern, but rather old-fashioned. Doors have real keys.

When you stay longer then 1 day and have always one plate with breakfast. This is realy not a standart from a 4 star Hotel. At least you should ask what people want to eat at breakfast what they pay extra. Exactly same breakfast 6 days long on one plate cant be a serious offer. But the only disapointing thing in this good Hotel.
