It's very difficult for me to say what exactly I liked. I probably only liked the interior of the hotel; as for the room, the room also had a fairly beautiful interior, but in terms of sleeping it was very uncomfortable, the pillows were very bad and it was quite cold.

I initially wanted to have one bed, but the hotel gave me a bed that was separate, that is, for two people. Although the reservation was for one person, the pillows were impossible to sleep on, the blanket was very small and the air conditioning did not work. in general, that is, it was impossible to turn it on so that it was warm, it was cold enough if you got out of the shower, so I was not satisfied.

The hotel is perfectly located in the old town (actually part of a block of buildings including the cathedral) but also close to bus/tram stops connecting to the airport and other areas. The 22 bus from the airport stops about 5 mins walk away (11.novembra krastmala). The room had plenty of character and (unlike some) had plenty of electrical sockets and good-sized bedside tables. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.

I felt a little exposed in the bathroom with only a thin veil over the window! The paving at the hotel entrance was damaged and could be quite hazardous.

The hotel has an amazing location, right next to the main square and Riga Cathedral. Almost all major tourist attractions are within 5-15 minutes of walking distance. Our room was spacious and clean, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was renovated and spotless. The breakfast did not have endless options (which is such a waste) but all the available things were tasty and more than enough to feel full and satisfied. The hotel staff is kind, professional and helpful. There was someone working at the reception even 04:00 am in the morning and helped us check out smoothly.

The bedroom was a bit cold but we visited Riga in January and the outside temperature is -5 to -10 degrees therefore it was expected. If you are visiting from a warmer country, bring warm clothes and socks with you!

* Location is 11/10, you can walk to every sight in Riga Old Town * Even the Zeppelin Halls and Origo are within a walking distance.. * There are 3x Rimis very near the hotel and one big shopping center (with Rimi Super) within 0.5km * Literally everything is within walking distance * There is Michelin star restaurant 10 meters from the hotel and Lido in about 50-100 meters * Bus 22 from the airport stops very near * Rooms were clean and stylish * There was a lot of brick and cast iron in furniture + old chairs * .. but the bathroom was modern and nice and clean * Also stairs were a bit retro, but there was an elevator build in 2008 * Breakfast was good , not the best, but above average * The room/hotel really was worth 4 stars

* We received some unsolicited messages from the hotel in chat, leading to a scam (we didn't fall for it) * The floor was carpeted (it was clean, but full floor carpet is not so good) * There was renovation done across the street, so view had construction things, no noise during weekend * We could hear people speaking in next room * It was kinda cold outside, so we did not test air conditioning, but it was there * Television was 4:3 aspect ratio, maybe because of common retro style

We have just returned for a 4 day break in Riga and this hotel is a gem. It is almost boutique with comfortable period furniture, exposed brick and plaster walls, subtle décor, wooden staircases , but also modern facilities. It is also so central to everything in the old city, 5 mins at most from the House of the Blackheads, St Peters Church and the Cathedral, in fact part of the hotel was originally part of the Cathedral cloisters. At night time you can hear the chime on the hour from the House of The Blackheads, which was very nice and calming. The street was quiet at night and the hotel is only 5 mins from the airport bus stop (no 22), just over the bridge. Breakfast is extensive with hot, cold, cereal etc, more than enough choice for three days and it is constantly refreshed by the attentive but not imposing staff. Highly recommend this beautiful hotel for a stay and will certainly look to return in the near future. They also provided us with a kettle for that very important English tradition, a cup of tea first thing, brilliant.

Maybe slightly larger room, but then I could have booked that myself so minor.

The hotel is in a fantastic location in the Old Town. It is within walking distance to many of the main sites and there are lots of lovely places to eat and drink nearby. The building itself is beautiful and full of character. The decor is really nice. Breakfast is very good, there is lots of variety and we saw it being refilled regularly. We'd definitely stay here again if we were in Riga, I think the price for what you get is excellent.

- The air conditioning did not work and it was incredibly hot in the room (it was 28/29 degrees outside during our stay). - We had a room facing the street and because it was so hot, we had the windows open. It was incredibly loud due to music and shouting from nearby bars, so it was difficult to sleep. This was more of a problem on Saturday and Sunday evening, not so much weekdays. - Not a problem for us but there was no kettle in the room, worth noting if that's important to you.

The location is amazing, right in the city centre, you can go everywhere by foot. Also, breakfast was great with lots of options and everything you could want. Staff was helpful and friendly. I personally loved the shower as it was quite big and had an unlimited amount of really hot water. But the best thing is the design. There's so many beautiful details over the hotel that you can just enjoy wandering around and looking at the decor

Unfortunately the windows aren't completely isolated so there was a bit of a cold draft from outside. However, the blankets were really thick and warm and the bed was very cozy so the room was very comfortable.

This our second stay at this boutique hotel in Riga. We stayed for a week in a junior suite which was very spacious and warm and included a mini bar. The location meant everything was in walking distance. Even though we travelled on 5 January 2024 we delighted to discover that the Christmas market was still going strong. We arranged to go on the bobsleigh run, only available on a weekend, husky sledding, a visit to Riga Motor Museum on the bus and the central market. Breakfast was included with a wide buffet selection. Reception is manned 24/7 and there is a bar in the hotel.

It would have been nice to have extra pillows and a couple of cushions in the room, but not a major issue.

Location was everything!! Direct bus (number 22) from airport to city centre and short walk to hotel. Beautiful hotel, good and consistent style, mattress on bed was firm - which is always good. The choice at breakfast was great and the staff very helpful. Thank you

As I’m tall the small bathroom and shower cubicle was a bit of issue but everything was clean and it was only for the weekend.

The staff were extremely polite and helpful across the board. I really couldn’t fault them at all. The hotel is quirky and beautifully laid out, with immaculate rooms throughout. It was -21 degrees C outside but we never felt the cold. There was a TV which probably could do with updating, but other than that all other features were great (loads of plugs, hairdryer, safe etc). The breakfast was absolutely amazing every day, it was the highlight of our stay at hotel Justus. The location is perfect also for all the tourist spots and restaurants in the old town.

The biggest issue was sleep sadly. There was only 1 pillow provided per person initially but a kind member of staff on reception did provide another when I enquired. The bed itself was also quite unforgiving, but that is a personal preference. I completely understand the building is old, so not much can be done about noise, but you can hear everything (and I mean everything?!) coming from other guests. Even with earplugs, it was still possible to hear snoring amongst other things throughout the night. Again, there isn’t much anyone can do about this so I guess we were just unlucky.
