I feel lucky to have found this place for my stay in Amsterdam. I wanted to stay within 3 km (1.8 miles) from Amsterdam Centraal, for I was traveling by train and I had planned to visit many of those "tourist" destinations. Meanwhile, I wanted to have some true "Amsterdam" feel of staying by the canal, and there we go I found A B&B Amsterdam! There was much more than the unbeatable location about A B&B Amsterdam. The place is located 5 stops (10 minutes) away by tram from Amsterdam Centraal on Line 4; 30-second walk from the Prinsengracht station on Line 4. Stayed on the first floor (European system), enjoyed the beautiful view of the canal day and night. Located by the main streets with nice restaurants, cafés and bars with a great vibe, meaning I had plenty of options to choose from, although it also meant I should expect some noise from the street until very late. I was able to go everywhere easily on foot or by tram from Dam Square, Rembrandt Square to Rijksmuseum Museum and Van Gogh Museum, to 9 Streets and the zoo during my 4-day stay. The owner Willem was super friendly and willing to help with anything I would need; plus, two kitties are adorable!
As some people have mentioned, the place has very steep stairs but was not a problem especially Willem helped with luggage.

The location was perfect, we were able to walk to all of the places we wanted to visit in less than 30 minutes. The only time we had to get public transport (there is a tram spot next to the hotel) was when we had to go to and from the airport. There was a very tasty Japanese restaurant (Ku) very close by as well as a lovely pub called Onder de Ooiewaar. The Rijksmuseum is a short walk away, about 10-15 mins, and the Jordaan area/Anne Frank house takes between 20 and 30 minutes to walk to. The best thing about the room was the view! We loved sitting in our little window seat and eating breakfast looking out over the canal. The staff were also really friendly and helpful and made our trip so comfortable.
Nothing! Our trip was perfect.

From Amsterdam Centraal, it’s just off #4 Tram stop, so super easy location . Once settled, any POI is easily walkable. Willem was a gracious and engaging host, offering restaurant suggestions and direction’s. Max the cat was the welcome committee, greeting us every time we walked in the door. The bed is super comfy, plenty of towels, toiletries and coffee! The only suggestion I have is to have more comfortable chairs by the window. We loved having a glass of wine and watching the boats travel along the canal and people watch the restaurants below

The location of the property was excellent in a lovely street on a canal. It was lovely to open the windows onto the lively, bustling street below. Willem was an excellent host and was there to greet me and show me around. I loved being in an authentic Amsterdam dwelling rather an impersonal hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable. Close to nice, local cafes and bars and far enough away from the tourists “hot spots”.
Nothing really. There was some noise from the bars below but it didn’t stop me from sleeping very soundly and it is expected in inner city areas.

Located on a lovely canal in a charming neighborhood. The room is well appointed with a little sitting area where you can open the window to allow the sounds of the cafes below to drift in. The owner is welcoming and helped us get our luggage to our room. The stairs are a little challenging but I found they made the property even more charming as they are truly the traditional Dutch staircase. The tram stop is just steps away so you have quick access to the rest of the city.
Nothing. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful, small, picturesque apartment in a central location, next to tram stop 4. It overlooks the Prinsengrach Canal. Around the apartment there is a bar cafe and a supermarket. It's not a hotel. It has the basics for a short day stay. It does not have daily cleaning.
It takes some small interventions in the apartment to make it more comfortable. The 2 wooden doors have holes and need repair and painting. The wall behind the clothes hanger has a lot of marks and needs repainting. Sleeping pillows definitely need replacement.

Great location walking distance to main part of town without being too close to all the tourist areas. Plenty of cafes and restaurants all around. Well appointed room with lovely view over the canal and all facilities. Hosts were fabulous, very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again!
Very narrow stairs would be difficult for less mobile travellers.

We had a lovely weekend away. The room and location was perfect right in the centre of everything, Views were amazing from our room. Bed was large and super comfy, TV with netflix etc in the room. Loved the friendly cats, kept coming to greet us. Big thank you to William for the warm reception on arrival, very friendly. Would definitely book here again.
A bit noisy at night from the underneath bars (that didn't bother us at all) and its to be expected in a city centre at a weekend. The stairs were challenging after a few drinks and caused a lot of laughter but we got used to them by the end of the trip.

Cute room with amazing view at one of Amsterdam's main canals. Great location - tram stop 20m away :) many good restaurants/bars/pubs just around the corner. Very helpful and kind host Willem ❤️ adorable cats keeping us company in our room 😀 super nice place in Amsterdam, if you are visiting for few days! Would stay there again when we come back to visit this amazing city!
Could be a little loud outside due to bars located nearby, but it really didn't bother us much :)

Location Location Location A b&b Amsterdam truly has the location it’s one of the reasons we chose this stay choice from booking.com We had all arrival information needed before hand provided by the owners simple key box for collection of room key directly at the front door. Typical Dutch staircase to first floor room. Now with a suitcase some may find this a little difficult but done slowly even I managed okay and I use a stick as well. First impressions was wow and to be honest that never really went away especially Sat in the bay window with cheese and wine or stroopwafels watching the people at the two cafe bars close by and of course the boats on the canal cruising down the Prinsengracht. Probably best to point out here you hear the chatter of the bars but it does go quiet over night even with the windows open and the dark drapes shut out most of the light as well so if you like a dark room for sleeping you will be fine here. Bed was very comfortable and bigger than we were expecting so that was a bonus as we are well not on the small side! Other room details were welcome a coffee machine with pods but we never used it as prefer tea so kettle was used a lot. Smart TV connected to a very good internet we were able to connect our own firestick so that gave us our own programs not that we were there for TV. The small en-suite bathroom was more than adequate for your needs with plenty of toiletries provided and indeed towels that were good in quality and size. The sink is only small and only has cold water but again not really a problem we still managed okay. The shower was okay and heres my first real negative it’s probably time to change the shower head and hose just a tiny bit worn out. Overall highly recommend staying here spot on location tram stop on the doorstep running tram 4 from Amsterdam Central Station to Station Rai. Cafe bars and restaurants. Albert Heijn supermarket all close by. We certainly intend to stay again!
Probably time to change the shower head and hose just a tiny bit worn out.
