The staff were amazing, pleasant, knowledgeable, and professional. Allan, the Manager, is exceptional; a veritable fountain of knowledge, super personality, someone with whom you want to deal when staying in any accommodation away from home; 5 stars to you Allan ! Mikele, and Denisa, prepared wonderful breakfast each day; thanks to both of you, great getting to know you, 5 stars to each of you for such a great and nutritious start to each day; The bed was super comfortable, amazing soft yet firm pillows x 4, great canal view from my room, everything superb; I look forward to my next stay, and highly recommend this Hotel; the staff are super, location was perfect for me, near Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, walkable to City Center, Central Train Station, Joordan neighborhood, etc. Thank you again to everyone ..! BTW the WiFi was like lightning speed, kudos for that..!

The hotel is tiny, I think there are one possibly two rooms on each floor connected by a small staircase. It's right on the canal and you can sit canal side to enjoy your breakfast. The room was beautifully decorated and very clean. Quite romantic with large French style doors opening up on to a little balconette. Just what I'd imagined for a romantic city break.

It's a good walk of about half an hour to the main attractions and bars, a little further than it appears to be on the site. You can flag down a tuck tuck quite easily though which is really good fun.

Excellent location with an easy access to the local transport and places of interest. Very friendly staff. Lovely breakfast with a variety of healthy options to choose from. Happy hour(s) every day from 4-8pm with free drinks and nibbles: a lovely little treat, and really great for pre-dinner preparations before hitting the town later in the evening.

We stayed in a fairly pricey room on the top floor, and throughout our stay there was a rather unpleasant smell coming from the drains, mainly the hand wash basin in the bathroom. We reported the issue during our stay and on our departure - the smell was persistent and we were not sure what was done to fix the problem whilst we were stsying the room as the smell was getting progressively worse….

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Amsterdam Canal Hotel! We had a deluxe double room overlooking the canal. Apart from the balcony we found the hotel clean and well appointed. We loved the bathroom although the bath did take a long time to empty. Complimentary hot and cold drinks in the room were appreciated and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast provided was one of the best we have had on the continent - the fresh cooked omelettes were delicious. We arrived too late for the complimentary cheese in the lounge on 2 evenings but we enjoyed it on the third evening along with complimentary drinks . All staff were friendly and helpful and we felt safe at the location. Baggage storage on departure day was a huge help. The hotel is in a great location for easy access to the city centre sights and restaurants and also for the metro to access out of town visits such as Keukenhof gardens. The area is quiet at night - surprising for a city centre location but much appreciated by us for a good nights sleep. Would definitely return.

The view could be improved with a bit of maintenance on the boats moored below ( not in the remit of the hotel of course!) and a tidy up of the rooms balcony which needed a spring clean. There is a narrow, spiralling staircase and no lift but that was not an issue for us and the hotel is at pains to point this out when you book.

I booked the Deluxe room with canal view and it was lovely overlooking the canal. It also had a balcony where we could sit and have our morning coffee. The staff were lovely and the room was clean. They also offered a daily open bar from 4PM to 8PM in their downstairs main area where guests could help themselves to free wine. We enjoyed this on one of our days and drank wine on their outside terrace also overlooking the canal. The location was perfect too.

I didn't like that the bathroom had glass doors, meaning there was no privacy if anyone else was in the room. Also, the bed was nice, but the pillows weren't the most comfortable. Still a great experience overall though.

Excellent location in a quiet part of the city. Easy to get to by public transport and within convenient walking distance from all the sites. We had a room overlooking the canal which was so beautiful. Very spacious and comfortable. Very reasonably priced for Amsterdam and we would definitely stay again.

The floors were a bit dirty and old. Be aware that there is no lift, so if you are on the upper floors, you will need to carry your luggage up the stairs! Thankfully we were on the ground floor.

This hotel is located in the heart of Amsterdam, really great for all local attractions. The hotel is also so close to the airport by taxi or car and also convenient by public transport. The staff was very helpful at all times. The room was very clean and comfortable despite being too small and lacking any sitting space. It offered basic refreshments facilities and a minibar which was great. The hotel has no lifts which are ok if you are on a lower floor. The hotel has no air conditioning which for us was a plus as it was very quiet. The bed was comfortable and we had lots of extra pillows. The bathroom was of a good size with a shower and good water pressure. We did not try the breakfast but you can smell it all the way from the basement restaurant kitchen. The view was ok too but the only way to enjoy it was to either lie down or stand up as the windows were hexagon shaped and located on 3 levels in the room. Overall pleasing stay and I recommend the location of the hotel.

Room size, no sitting relaxing area in the room

Breakfast was excellent! Eggs cooked to order and plenty of other options from 7-10am daily. Staff was great and assisted us by arranging a taxi as well as storing our luggage for a few hours after we checked out. Very good location with Fredrickplein tram stop, Albert Cuyp market, and several restaurants nearby. Room was small, but we had opted for a canal house with character over a more modern accommodation. Although facing the busy Weteringschans, it was not too noisy. We were not deterred by the typical steep Amsterdam stairs to our room on the first floor above ground level, (luggage was a challenge) but asked for it via a message to the property. If you cannot handle stairs (no elevator), this is not the place for you. Rooms have a small refrigerator and the property stocks (and restocks daily) it with beer, water, and soft drinks at no extra charge. Quite unexpected and appreciated.

There is no air conditioning (which we knew) but it wasn't really a big issue in September. I would not book here during the warmest months, however. Space in the bathroom was also very tight and the shower floor was quite slippery. Ice and coffee seemed to be available in the breakfast area at all times, but that was yet another set of stairs to the lowest level.

Very friendly staff. And a welcoming multilingual cook for breakfast. The location is great: at a 10-minute walk from the main museums, in a nice area of canals (the way to go to the city center is beautiful). Comfortable room and bathroom with bubble bath. I also liked the afternoon happy hours with free access to quality tea, coffee and fresh beverage. Also easy to reach, even if coming to Amsterdam by car (park at P+R Bijlmeer Arena for cheap tariff, take metro M54 to Weesperplein, walk 10 minutes to the hotel).

The property is a charming ancient house. Although completely renovated and with double doors against noise from the staircase, you may hear other guests if they impolitely shout or tap feet. ;-)

Location was excellent and the breakfast was a special treat. Easy walking to wherever we wanted to go. We asked a LOT of questions about the city and we were never made to feel like an inconvenience. Super nice and very very helpful.

I didn't like that the bed faced the room top to bottom so I had to scootch to get in and out of it. It was super comfortable though and the view of the canal was very peaceful. No elevator. We had help getting our luggage up the stairs, but I love an elevator.
