For me this was was available short notice 30+ euros cheaper per night than anything else nearby. It was actually cheaper per night than some of the private rooms at the hostels at the time i stayed. It's on a quiet street and right next to the green tram line that gets you to the touristy central bits in 10 mins, and it's near one of the parks which was beautiful. If you're out in the city after hours, the night buses get you back with only a short 5 min walk from the door. The rooms are similar to your typical British Travelodge in style and quality. I felt like i discovered a little gem with this place as I usually stay in the hostels when visiting Dam, and I will probably use this place for all future visits if the pricing stays as competitive.

The staff were very welcoming, the breakfasts were excellent,( freshly squeezed orange juice every morning) the hotel is next to beautiful Vondel park and on the no 2 tram line which takes you to central city in about 15 minutes.. The beds were very comfortable but the rooms were a little stuffy because it was warm and the windows don't open very much.
There was no bedroom light by my bed only a gaping hole where there used to be one. The carpets were old and rather stained and in general the room needed a bit of TLC. The light byy friends bed was in need of repair.

Very friendly staff, always going the extra mile to help out. We stayed for 9 nights, during New Year’s, and of course, things happened, but the staff was always willing to solve any issue promptly. We found breakfast to be perfect (not included in the nightly fee); enough choices, healthy, tasty and fresh. The location is wonderful; very close to the tram that takes you almost everywhere in Amsterdam; also, sometimes we walked instead of taking the tram. Just 1.5 km. or so from Van Gogh Museum, etc. The facility, like most buildings in Amsterdam, is an old (and beautiful) building, therefore there’s no elevator and you’ll find the typical Dutch staircases; also, it can be noisy. Not the hotel’s fault although a kind reminder to guests to keep this in mind could be helpful. The tram just outside the building is under construction, therefore access to the hotel by car is closed for the time being. Not an issue for us though. Just two blocks away, there are many nice restaurants, supermarket, bakeries, coffees … Water pressure and temperature in the shower was surprisingly nice! We loved our stay there and we will certainly stay there again next time we visit Amsterdam. There’s a small coffee machine in the room, coffee bags, tea bags, etc.
A kind reminder to guests that - since it’s an old building, everyone needs to be respectful and mind other guests’ sleep- would probably be helpful.

LOCATION Loved the location on Koninginneweg as well as the general neighborhood near the southwest end of Vondelpark, which I got to experience during a 2 hr. late morning stroll. At the time of our stay, Koninginneweg was being repaired so there was some construction noise (drilling, hammering, engine noise, crashing of metal plates). On the other hand, the Line 2 trams which normally circulate in front of the hotel were diverted to De Lairessestraat/Valeriusplein, making it very quiet at night. Your experience may therefore be different than ours. STAFF The staff, Titi and Leticia, were cheery, friendly and efficient. Our train was departing late in the afternoon and Titi let us leave our luggage at the hotel, which gave us the freedom to wander around the city without backpacks and suitcases in tow. We also want to thank Jose, who was in charge of cleaning our room & bathroom. Everything was spotless. BREAKFAST Excellent selection of feta/gouda/blue cheeses, various cereals, breads, olives, tomatoes, orange juice. The omelettes prepared by Titi and Leticia were delicious.
There was nothing we didn't like, but the building is a bit old, the stairs to the second and third floors are narrow and steep, which may make it difficult for people who have mobility issues or who are physically challenged. There is no elevator (lift, Aufzug). The bathroom was immaculate but it was not new. I don't remember if the toilet had a slow close/quiet close cover. We did hear one or two other guests who had a loud conversation or were carrying heavy bags to their room. Otherwise, it was very quiet and pleasant.

Cozy place with great and nice workers. The room was cozy and really comfortable with a great bathroom. The lights beside the bed is also a great feature for those who like to read or those who enjoy some light but not the main light turned on.
The rooms could have a little more sound isolation and the door on my room (ground floor) could be bigger/fill the whole space so that there isn't light coming in from reception during the night (nothing too big but something to solve on that room) other than that it was really good.

This hotel is moderately priced and good for young folks (stairs)who just need a place to crash. Very quiet neighborhood, the locals are friendly and happy to answer questions, Around the corner is a bus stop that will whisk you to Schipol in about the time it takes just to get to central station. Snacks and fruit and other things are sold nearby. One benefit of the location being in the boonies as that you that you familiarize yourself of more parts of town you might not have heard of if you stay nearer the centrum. I did not get a chance to jog in the huge park, but there is one, Vondelpark, steps away.
a few more tea bags?( I stayed 4 daysbut i did not ask)

The staff at Wilhelmina is kind and lovely, very caring for customers and ready to accommodate any request. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable! The hotel is in a quiet area yet very well connected or just a nice and short walk away from the museums area. I would totally recommend it if you want to avoid the more busy/loud/touristy areas.
Being an old building, as most places in Amsterdam, you have to literally climb stairs that look like a ladder to get to the room, but it's really something peculiar of the city. Just not suitable for everyone.

I like the neighborhood in general. I like that its far away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas but still near public transport so its still easy to move out and about. There is a tram line a few meters away that gets you everywhere and there is grocery store that you can get all necessities you can think of.
Unfortunately I got lost at first in locating the Hotel and the Receptionist wasn't versed in English so we couldn't understand each other through the phone call when I wanted instructions. But a local woman saw my predicament and helped me reached the Hotel hehe. There was also road closures as there was a construction going on in the area so walking on the sidewalk was quite limited. This was 2nd week of October 2022 so hopefully it will finish soon.

Staff were very friendly, our room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Felt very safe in the hotel.
There was a lot of building noise going on in the building next door which we were not told about and started at 8am every morning. It was okay for us as we were up early but for some people it may have been disturbing

Extremely clean, the most lovely and caring reception staff I’ve ever met, location was exceptional, the tram was only just down the road which takes you all over Amsterdam. Our room was huge.
The only minor issues were that the beds were a tiny bit bad on my back and the stairs to our room were an absolute hike, no problem if you don’t have big bags, but If you’re like us, good luck. The stairs are pretty much unavoidable in Amsterdam though, you’ll be lucky to find a hotel without similar to these.
