I really enjoyed the room : it was quite spacious and well laid out. The mattresses were very comfortable, and I appreciated having a shower instead of a bathtub; it’s much more practical. Bonus points for the separate toilet and bathroom. The large window was also a great feature. Housekeeping was impeccable (thank you to the lady we met for taking such good care of our room). At reception, we were able to check in early, and the hostess was absolutely lovely and patient.

On the downside, there was no mini fridge, the pillows were too firm, I also noticed a stain on my duvet (but really small) and there wasn’t enough counter space in the bathroom for our belongings

This elegant building is in a quiet residential area about 20 mins walk from the centre. 3 mins walk to tram stop for the centre. There is a lift. Our room was spacious with a modern bathroom featuring a walk-in shower. Comfortable beds & pillows. Usable plug sockets near the beds. Air-conditioning. Friendly staff. Pre check-in/post check-out baggage storage is convenient.

The baggage storage seemed a bit haphazard compared to the other hotels we stayed at during our trip. Although they operate a label tag system, the bags are simply stored in the customer area of reception. The desk is manned all the time, but when we returned to collect our bags, the receptionist was engaged with a customer. We weren't asked for our tag counterfoils and simply helped ourselves to our bags. In both of the other hotels we stayed at during our trip, there was a separate, secure, room accessed only by staff

The Alfred staff was friendly and helpful. We arrived early and were able to leave before checking in which was very convenient. Transportation was very easy as well. Multiple bus stops within a three block walk, city tram was 3 blocks away and they rent bicycles if you wan to try that out. The museum district is 7 or 8 blocks away and the city is about a 15 min tram ride away. It is located in a quiet area of town with many small shops, restaurants, bakeries, etc within a block or two. The room was compact, but very nice. The entire bathroom was tiled and the shower was not separated so the entire bathroom floor got wet. Other than that the room was great! There was an espresso machine in the room which was also an added bonus. This was the most expensive hotel in our European trip, but seemed consistent with other hotels in the area.

The room had a good size with a desk and safe. I requested a kettle and right away, I got one. The room was also warm and could easily adjust the temperature. Staff was very helpful when I couldn't make the safe work, and they fixed it. You can also order pizza to your room, which was tasty and arrived super fast. Very convenient.

The staff didn't clean well the cups on the desk one day. They left the tea spoon and mug I used in the morning with marks of coffee. They could pay more attention to it. It's nothing major as it was only one day, but it was a day they did room service, so no excuse.

Hotel is great and the room was really good - clean, comfortable and warm. Staff was kind of a hit-and-miss - some of them were great (specially during the day) and some of them were meh. The location is not perfect, but the public transport is very effective so you can go anywhere in the city (or to other cities) really fast. Airport bus is 2-minutes walk and get to the airport in 30 minutes and the train to downtown is 3~4 blocks away and gets there in 10~15min. There's a beautiful park with a grocery store and Van Gogh's museum (not related) a walking distance.

We actually miss the bus in the night because the night shift guy wasn't at the desk and the exit door was locked when we tried to leave - we had to wait 10 minutes in -4 degree at 3:30am... not cool man (actually freezing cool). The shower is great but there's no cover so the bathroom get all wet every time you take a shower.

Location is walkable to tram stop and not too far away from central train station.

The room toilet. The floor got very wet after each shower cos no curb to block water from flowing onto the toilet bowl side. The sink is also positioned at an awkward position directly facing the shower hence everything gets wet after each use. Also, floor then becomes very slippery . Was skeptical of using the hairdryer ..worried being electrocuted cos floor wet after shower ! As such the carpet outside the bathroom tend to be damp… perhaps provide rubber slippers?

The room was clean and spacious. It also had a pod coffee machine which was handy. The location was convenient (could walk to Vondelpark and Museumplein, and close to tram stops to Amsterdam Central) and it is located in a really nice part of Amsterdam. Staff were helpful and they upgraded our room, which was nice of them. Would stay here again.

Small thing - but it would be good to have a second mirror in the room. Bike hire was also a bit inconvenient from the hotel directly. Easier to hire from a nearby bike shop.

Our room was quite big, family suite, and we even had a nice view with a beautiful sunrise in the morning. We had everything we needed for our 1 night stay. We drove with a car and used a nearby longstay parking ( booked before we arrived) at Olympic Stadion, so that it tool us less than 10 min to get to the hotel. The location itself is very beautiful, Suid, many rich houses and totally different vibe of the city.

We had a nice stay and it was clean enough, but I would not be the first one saying that some renovation would make a change.

Location was great. Trams nearby and airport bus across the road. Reasonable price. Upgrade to superior delux room - although the only difference must have been in the size of the room. Safe in the room.

Paper thin doors and walls. Lots of noise from 07:00 when the cleaning starts including hoovering... Didn't expect it that early! Cleaning crew talking loudly, slamming doors. We had a view of the yard - or a row of windows. Very dark. Heating took long time to work, cold on checking in. Coffee maker in the room, no kettle to make tea so guests better like coffee! No extra blankets.

Staff were amazing and friendly. Breakfast was basic but nice we enjoyed it each morning. You are able to make takeaway tea and coffee after breakfast when you are leaving which was great. Very clean, housekeeping each day, fresh towels each day. 2 mins walk to tram to get to center. But also a really nice walk if you prefer as we did.

Only something small but the view was over looking other back gardens so had to keep the blinds closed for privacy. But nothing major we really enjoyed our stay and will be back.
