Good walking 15 mins. distance to free ferry across to central station. Convenient food market very close by where hot food can be purchased ie pizza, hamburger, street food We had a room with a view which was spectacular. Watching the ships and boats on the harbour.

Unclear instructions re housekeeping. You now need to book a service when you have breakfast. The housekeeping card to hang on the door was no longer relevant so they should not be in the room. No refrigerator in any room is very inconvenient for travellers and unexpected.

The hotel was really clean and nice

Maybe a little far if you are walking to the metro with lugagge but that's something we knew when we made the reservation

Location is easy and lovely, there are 2 ways of going to city centre and ferry option is free and nicer. There is a supermarket near hotel and it is quite cheap and good quality. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Hotel and room is very clean and beds are very comfortable. Bathroom design is easy to use. Breakfast is excellent, very satisfied and delicious. In conclusion it is a perfect choice, I would love to stay again in this hotel.

In my room, I couldn't find a direct way to reach the reception, so I wasn't able to call them. This information should be clearly provided. Additionally, I have an issue with the provision of disposable slippers. They are not provided in the room, and you have to ask for them at the reception. However, on my second request, I was asked unnecessary and odd questions about my previous ones. This is not a good way to provide better value to customers over a disposable slipper.

The room was very spacious and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful too! They helped us find a taxi to the airport fast after the uber cancelled on us twice. Great location, we had to take a ferry every day to get to the other side, but they're very frequent and were fun to ride. Overall, a great experience and would recommend it! The breakfast was tasty too.

The bed was a bit too soft for a comfortable sleep. Also, the hotel is located right next to the night club, so during weekends it was challenging to fall asleep cause of all the vibrations coming from the music.

The room was decent sized and the bed was great. Best hotel of the 3 we stayed at between UK & ND. The breakfast was good. The location was also good. A short 8-10min walk from the Metro line, from there you could be in the city center in minutes. On foot from hotel to city center was 20 min all things included. The view was very cool - you are on the other side of the water from the main city center but one of the few "sky scrapers" as it was across the water on solid ground. Price was good. Hotel staff was very helpful. Grocery store across the street with great food options. Several laundromats within walking distance. I liked how you had to walk through a local village to get from the train station to the hotel - you get to see the "regular" Dutch people and their neighborhood. Everyone spoke English. We will without a doubt be staying here again when we return.

The room was kind of hot. The walk from the train to the hotel was only a minor inconvenience. Really zero complaints at all. Americans like our air conditioning and we felt like we were burning up constantly. Next time we might buy a cheap room fan to use while we are there.

Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam - North Riverside is located on the banks of Ijplein looking over at Central train station. Location have good connection for pedestrians, some 10 minute walk gets you to free ferry boat service to Central train station. On other hand hotel is located near ring road which leads to airport in some 30 minute drive and its easy accessible for cars which is not the case always in old part of town. Near hotel you can find great supermarket with restaurant inside. Hotel is modern, staff is professional and helpful. Room had nice working desk and really comfortable chair for doing some remote work. Internet connection was good also. I would consider coming here again for sure.

I had one issue with bathroom, there wasnt really hot water in shower, while there was one at nearby bathroom sink. Water was warm, but not really hot which is needed in winter time after being out, walking the city, and coming in for a hot shower. As someone else pointed out, there is a techno-dance venue next door, and there are parties on Fridays and Saturdays, I did hear it, but I was at 8th floor so it didnt matter much to me, but I guess if you have room more closer to ground, and looking at that venue, at north-east corner, you probably wont get any sleep. So try to avoid that corner of hotel, and try to get higher floors (if you staying Fri/Sat).

The location is very good,not far from the metro,where you can reach really fast the center.Also,you can use the feribot line and to enjoy the short trip :) The area of the hotel feels calm and save.There are two supermarkets just near the hotel.The staff is very nice and helpful.The breakfast is rich enough in my opinion.The room was quiet,enough spacious,with coffee and tea provided.The TV has the chromecast option,which I find great.The temperature in the room was good too,ideal for sleep.There is a self-service option with some snaks and drinks,if you need to grab something to eat in the late hours of the night.

Overall all was really good.Probably the pillows and the bed were softer than I prefer,but this really depends on every single person's preferences.

I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast at the Holiday Inn Amsterdam! The buffet was a feast for the senses, offering an impressive array of options to suit all tastes. From freshly baked pastries and breads to a variety of cold meats, cheeses, and fresh fruits, everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The hot food section was equally satisfying, with perfectly cooked eggs, crispy bacon, and other savory delights. What stood out most was the quality and freshness of the ingredients. I also appreciated the inclusion of healthier options like yogurts, granolas, and fresh juices, making it easy to start the day on the right note.

The staff could have been more helpful, especially whilst I was travelling with my daughter and wife, the coffee machines during the nighttime was not working, and this was quite frustrating, as staff ignored the requests to refill the machines. I work 24/7 for a global company and needed a refill during my night shift which was quite frustrating.

Beautiful room, great bathroom and shower gel / shampoo. Comfortable bed and two types of pillows. Casting option for the tv so you don't have to login to your streaming accounts, just connect to the room wifi and cast. Amazing view of the canal and the skyline (9th floor) and top notch breakfast. There is a lot of lounge space with interesting furniture, convenient for remote work. One metro stop to Amsterdam Centraal - top connectivity with the whole city and other cities via intercity trains.There is a big supermarket across the street as well.

Some more space for clothes would be nice but it wasn't so important for us to ruin the vibe.

I was looking for a hotel in Amsterdam that would be relatively close to the center, with a comfortable, clean room, and at the same time relatively affordable. I chose Holiday Inn Express and I am satisfied. The hotel is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood. To be in the very center you need just a short walk or a minute's bike ride, and then a free ferry runs every few minutes in both directions ( 3 minutes to cross the water) This ferry transport has its own atmosphere. It is also close to the metro, about 700m, although we only used it when returning to the airport. Great location. The rooms are modern and clean. Comfortable bed. Breakfast is monotonous (basic - the same thing every day but plenty of it), you can generally eat enough. There are two nice markets right next to the hotel. Staff helpful. Wi-fi worked flawlessly. To sum up, it's a nice place to stay in the city, a real 3*. Nothing to complain about, but also nothing to really admire.

The room cleaning service could be improved and scrambled eggs should be made not from powder 😉
