Even though it's across the water it's easy to get to. Buzzing vibe. Right on top of a nice restaurant. Cool decor in the room

Had been eyeing this hotel for sometime for our family's European vacation. Initially had shortlisted (and booked) another hotel which looks excellent too but was away from the city a bit. Sir Adam was a bit out of our budget- as we wanted to 2 rooms for 3 nights. But thankfully the rates dropped and I was able to snag a booking at very good rates on Booking.com Check-in A bit delayed. There were not enough folks at the reception which made us wait- but eventually things were fine. The lady who checked us in was very polite and helpful. Rooms We were in the Sir Boutique. 2 rooms next to each other. View of the back of the building- overlooking the canal and a college. Room was just right sized- could have been larger. Beds and the pillows were very comfortable (they sell the pillows at least I think). The record player in the room is a nice touch- one could call it gimmicky (as some reviewers have mentioned)- but we enjoyed it. We listened to some nice music and also picked up a record from the "bank" next to the reception. Plug points were enough- though I have to say the number of books on the night stand next to the bed is way too many - one needs that space for the phones, watches etc to charge. Location I can't say perfect, but very near that. You are in the city center and then not. One takes a ferry to the other side to the Centraal Station- which yes does add a few minutes to your journey every time, but then even the ferry is an experience. And it keeps you away from the madness of the Dam etc while still keeping you near. One tip- on the way back make sure to check which ferry you board- we ended up at NDSM Wharf once - which was another experience: at that time we were hassled (it was hot) but when we look back at it- it was funny Food The restaurant downstairs The Butcher Social is very good. Had some good burgers there (Ugly Chicken, Veggie Delight). Breakfast is also very good.

Honestly, everything was beautiful, the stay was very pleasant, and the food in the restaurant was delicious ( THE BUTCHER Social Club )

Everything, I took the Corner room with the city and river view on the 7th floor. The View was spectacular even from the bathroom, the room itself was spacious, clean, and comfy, and the decorations were unique. everyone of the staff that I've met and/or dealt with was Polite, helpful, smiling, and professional, especially Tom the receptionist, the Main language has a Bar, an amazing restaurant and they even have Pool and Ping Pong tables and the Elevators were something Else 🎊😂 . I highly recommend this place and its praiseworthy and i’ll definitely stay there in my Future trips to Amsterdam

The Minibar prices were a bit high

Room was exactly as described and pictured. We were a bit disappointed with the view; our room overlooked a construction site at the back of the Eye Museum. Our bad.... we should have asked for a room with a better view. We were very impressed and pleased with the security provided. You have to badge with your room card at 3 different locations to get into your room. We felt very safe.

Signage! It took a while to finally get to the hotel. The first desk you come to isn't check in for the hotel; it's for the building itself. Sir Adam only has 7 floors of this large building. Would suggest something on the shower floor, such as grip strips. The floor is very slippery. There should also be grab bars in the shower as well.

The location of the hotel was perfect, was a bit apprehensive when booking about the ferry crossing, but it was so easy and added a little something to the journeys.From central to the hotel in less than 5 minutes and the ferry runs every few minutes 24 hours a day and it's free. The room was an amazing cross between vintage and modern decor, floor to ceiling windows and the most amazing blackout blinds, that had us not waking up before noon. The shower and toilet were separate great for individual use and the rainfall shower was amazing. One of our favourite attractions was The Look out a lovely addition on the roof top, you can also experience the virtual reality roller coaster around the city.

the hotel is very close to the city center yet its in a quite area, hotel rooms and the views from the windows are exceptional. there is also a very nice restaurant “the butcher” in the hotel, a sky bar and a night club, its 5 minuets walk to the city center and the ferry boat works 24 hours and its for free

housekeeping doesnt clean the rooms very well, so under the bed there was a baloon that didnt belong to me for example but house keeping never saw it, and the carpet under the bed was very dusty.

Rooms were amazing. Very comfortable with all facilities you might need. Great restaurant facilities within the hotel.

Only flaw in our room was the design of the shower. when you opened the door the lip of the shower would leak water everywhere and any splash on the door would run all over the bedroom floor. Very overpriced mini bar which wasn’t restocked everyday. we were unsure if it was included or charged for based on what you used. Despite visiting mid-week and expected the bar to close a little early, there was no information about the in building facilities within our room. This information would have been useful on arrival or in the room, including night entrance after a certain time and bar closing times for midweek.

A hotel with its own atmosphere. The design of both the lobby, the restaurant and the rooms is made in the original style. Even the elevators surprise with their design. We took a corner room overlooking the strait and Amsterdam. This is a very unusual view for Amsterdam. Given that the hotel is connected to the main Amsterdam by free ferries that run every 10 minutes 24 hours a day, the remoteness of the hotel from the main tourist routes does not matter. I recommend the hotel to anyone who loves design, art and rock & roll

If the price were a little lower I think the hotel would be more popular

Beautiful hotel and room, it was perfect for our anniversary break, probably the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in. Really great staff helpfulland friendly! Breakfast was fantastic really great range of options and being able to order one item each from the hot breakfast menu really set it apart and had us ready to go!

That we weren't there for longer! Honestly trying to find something I didn't like about the hotel is really hard, If nit picking the door from our shower didn't seal very well at the bottom so water leaked out into the bathroom area, not a real issue, was probably just our room and no doubt the hotel will have fixed it before long.
