We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The location is excellent, making it easy to explore the area and access everything we needed. The staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained. I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again!

Nothing major, but if I were to point out a few areas for improvement: the elevator was quite slow, and the shampoo and soap bottles were too small. I found them a bit inconvenient and eventually ended up buying shampoo at a store. We didn’t use the TV much, but it was quite small and a leaflet with a TV channel guide would have been helpful.

Great location

We had a great time and was comfortable at the hotel. However, it was a bit more expensive that some of the other hotels iv used in the city, we decided to spend more money this time to get a bigger room but the room was just as small and compact as the cheaper locations. The pictures look bigger than they are, when you have two suitcases it’s hard to move around the room.

Great location with great staff who were very helpful. room was very clean and the facilities were to a good standard.

Ongoing works inside and outside the property with dated decor make you feel like you are staying at a construction site, this will go over time I am sure. One morning I had to get permission from the workers who were outside the hotel door to cross the work zone as they had cut off all access to pavements while they were doing work which was a bit inconvenient.

Excellent location. Reception and restaurant high standard and very modern. Staff all friendly and very helpful, helped with restaurant suggestions and booking. Lovely breakfast, good variety and quality, had a brilliant service at breakfast.

Bedroom somewhat dated compared to rest of hotel. Corridor leading to room and strange layout of going out onto unattractive stairwell to get to room. Dark room and furniture. Needs refurbishment to bring up to standard of ground floor. But room was comfortable and had everything we needed.

It's a lovely hotel and everything was great with one exception

we were allocated a room (room 118) with an entrance of its own at the back of the hotel. There was a route through the inside to the hotel but it was up a dangerously steep and narrow staircase which was unfit for people of our age. The room was only just adequate but the entrance to it was shocking - through a dirty door with weeds growing next to it in a back street strewn with rubbish. It was adjacent to the back utility entrance to the hotel and we were kept awake on our 3rd (and last) night by staff dragging rubbish bins up the basement stairs and emptying them into the street. To their credit, the hotel management responded very well but the room should not be let to full price paying customers

Historic hotel. Nice lounge areas in the lobby. Great bar with wooden wainscoting floor to ceiling. Restaurant had nice wines and excellent oysters Rockefeller and filet mignon. Our final room had an excellent comfy bed, room darkening drapes and a nice modern bath with shower. A safe for valuables, coffee maker that brewed an excellent cup. Close to Anne Frank House.

Our first room was in an annex. The bed was concave. The linens were stained. I had to complain and ask to be moved. They did so with no complaint. Classy & professional. I gave up a lovely bathtub to move, but everything else about the 2nd room was superior. A/C was not very powerful. Room was barely comfortable. Many European hotels have this problem. Location was close to the Amsterdam Centraal station, but not right in the thick of the good restaurants and bars.

We love staying in historic places. The minibar is located close to the floor, so it was hard to reach. There is a tub / shower with ample hot water. As I am short and getting arthritis, I find that the tub was too high for getting in and out easily. Our room also had 3 steps down from the hall/bathroom/closet level to the bedroom level—it might be a problem for some one who is unsure of their balance in the dark. It is in a great location, walking distance to train station and lovely walks to the nearby canals/cafes. Staff speaks good English. There is an elevator.Breakfast was a bit pricy, so we have no opinion about that. There are two lounges where one can read or study in peace. the room was big and the bed was very comfortable.

The only problem which we didn’t find out until the hotel messaged us a few days before was that there is extensive tram construction in front the hotel, which will be continuing until 2024. We had expected the tram to stop in front of the hotel, but this line was not working. It’s a bit dusty walking on paths that go across the road and up and down the street. You can catch trams 2 1/2 blocks from the hotel at the Dam Square stop. The double glazed windows kept out all of the street noise, so it was very quiet. You cannot open the windows as they are sealed shut, but ac works fine. Considering the inconvenience, the hotel felt a little pricier than we would have liked.

We had an amazing stay at Die Port Van Cleve! The staff were all so friendly, especially Karim who was just amazing. They all really made us feel welcome. The hotel itself is such a cool historical building. The location was perfect, right in the center of everything. If you go make sure you stop in to the bar and check out the blue tiles. We stayed in a room down on the ground floor which was a bit of an adventure to get to down some narrow stairs but it was all part of the fun, and as a result we got breakfast included and it was one of the best hotel breakfasts Ive had. Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam who wants an ecclectic and historic experience right in the city center.

Great location with Central Station only a 10-minute walk away and all major attractions also within walking distance. Even though it is in the middle of the city we found it quiet at night on the higher floor (we were on the 4th floor). Good security at night as you have to interact with the hotel manager to enter the hotel. Restaurant attached to the hotel is nice but way overpriced

Beds were very uncomfortable and it took repeated interaction with reception to get the cleaning team to clean our room (it was like they came by at 9:00am and if you werent out of the room then they just didnt come back).

Excellent service from all staff members who are quick to anticipate customers' needs . Good location close to tram services. A lot of history to the building which we didn't know about prior to our stay. Very good bar and well set out common areas. Comfortable large bed. Breakfast option is good value and breakfast staff are very friendly and professional.

Restaurant was closed on the 2 days we were there, so didn't have a chance to dine in the evening, but staff provided us with a list of other nearby restaurants we could try. Room could have been larger but next time we would book a larger room.
