Staff were soooo friendly and helpful - Glenn, Gabriela, Manuel, Dirk, Hans, Pietr and by chance we met the Owner and manager - a lovely woman whose parents formerly owned the hotel, so warm and welcoming. The staff was too nice and assisted with directions, taxis, dinner suggestions, looking things up on the web for us, etc. etc. Breakfast was convenient, simple, all you needed and a great expresso coffee machine! More vegan options (plant based milk and cheese would have made it all perfect).
A bit lower price?

First that i wanted to highlight is the staff named Stefi, she’s really really helpful, approachable and very friendly. She help me a lot whenever i am asking her. I hope that the management noticed how dedicated she is at her work. It is not easy to find a staff like her though i always go and check in to other hotel she’s really the best! secondly, im so inlove with the location it is so closed to everywhere specially to dam square, canals, church, city centre etc. thirdly, the hotel is very artistic and comfortable room, and the housekeeping always keep on cleaning everyday and and giving more towels. they are refilling all the coffees. and cleaning so much. Fourth, is the breakfast is very nice everyday and very affordable. They will let you to feel you are home. I celebrated my first Christmas here in this hotel and I really really enjoyed. I will definitely will come back here again especially to say hi to the staff there Stefi and Gigi. can’t wait to come back here again although I stayed for 7days here i feel home and had a very nice days here.

Lovely hotel that gives you a typical Amsterdam home vibe, located at one of the best parts of the city, in the old town on a famous canal. The room (we booked the quadruple) has huge windows which overlook the canal (they do have good drapes to blackout the light if you want that). The room has a proper bathroom with shower on the top floor and a small toilet on the bottom floor. There is no door separating the two floors - it’s open plan separated by stairs. There is also a good sized safe.
Everything was great- wish there was an elevator… but understandably there isn’t one. My only complaint is that there were not enough photos to help you understand what kind of room you were getting before we booked it. I was pleasantly surprised when we actually arrived at the room but it would have been better to not leave things to our imagination before arrival .

The hotel is perfectly situated in a central but quiet location and is run by friendly and helpful staff. We paid extra for a canal view room which was a little small but had comfortable beds and pillows and a poweful very hot shower which was lovely. There was a small fridge, although this was not stocked, and a plentiful supply of tea and coffee. There were also bedside plug sockets plus usb's, which is always an advantage. There is a freshly prepared continental breakfast available in a beautiful well maintained public area which also serves drinks during the rest of the day if you wish, with a nice seating area in reception
There were only a couple of things that could be improved on, although they in no way spoiled our experience. Firstly, it would have been good to have a wider choice of cereal, pastries and bread for breakfast. However, everything that was available was fresh, tasty and filling. Secondly our room was a little shabby in parts with a large number of white patches on the walls where the paint had been knocked off/plaster had been left unpainted, plus mould in the shower. This was at odds with the rest of the hotel, which was very well maintained, and if these details had been addressed would have increased our rating from a 9 to a 10 as everything else was perfect

Excellent location, was basically within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. Comfortable bed and bedding, and plenty of hot water. Gorgeous canal view from our room. Very effective AC which was important, as it was 30 degrees every day we were there.
very small room to maneuver around, didn’t really have anywhere to put our suitcases and kept tripping over them. We were in room 372 and whoever was above us was so loud early in the morning for such a long time. Very not soundproof. I was wearing earplugs and the thumping sound still woke me up in the morning.

Room was clean and quiet, nice view of the canal. The staff was very nice. I especially appreciated the efforts of the staff to accommodate my wife's food allergy ( gluten) at breakfast.
The bathroom is a little cramped, like a lot of European bathrooms. But perfectly acceptable. Just not a lot of counter space. It was an expensive room, but we had a good location not far from a tram stop, a nice view of the canal, and places to eat/drink nearby.

Lovely newly renovated hotel in a great location. Some of the rooms are incredible and look out onto the canal however some are not as nice as the other.
The staff are not the most friendly, especially the night manager. When i checked in at 1am after a long delayed journey he gave me a card to a room that was already occupied. After clearing out the mysterious belongings i did not feel safe or confident the mystery guest would not reappear in the middle of the night. As i was travelling alone i asked to switch rooms which which seemed to disgruntle and annoy him. Such a shame for such a lovely hotel.

excellent location and really happy your bathrooms have conditioner. all hotels have shampoo but very few provide conditioner! important for ladies with long hair…also like the smell of it. Berry and black pepper??
there was a pretty noisy generator on the other side of the canal with workers starting early. I could easily hear it from my 5th floor room. which wouldn’t have been such a problem if the chimes from the nearby clock tower hadn’t kept me awake. if lockdown hadn’t closed the bars and restaurants early perhaps I would have been less alert to notice!!!

I love the location of this hotel. Such a great area and you can walk everywhere. Our room was small but had everything, including a kettle to make tea. The sitting area at the front is super nice where you can look out over the canal. The staff were all helpful.
It was pretty perfect. I'd only like the opportunity to buy food/drinks all day...if that downstairs was a cafe would be fab! But there are lots of great places around. So it's not really a big problem.
