Breakfast was delicious, the bread comes from an excellent bakery (Bertus). The room was comfy and spacious, the location near the center and railway station is very convenient. Tip: the Mabrouk Butchery two houses further on sells Iranian saffron and pistachio ice-cream waffles.

Call me old fashioned but I prefer a personal reception over an electronic check-in (after 15:00). That said, they take care to call you before arrival, the instructions are on your phone and everything works well. There is a number you can call in the case of problem. It is efficient and well organised. So this dislike is a like but I regret the evolution in society.

The hotel is located very close to the bus and train station and easy to find . The room was quiet, clean comfortable and I felt very safe on my own. The bathroom was clean and large with all amenities. There is no staff in the evenings but you can borrow plates, cutlery, wine glasses , bottle openers etc from the breakfast room . The room also has a small fridge and a kettle and there is an elevator. The bed was extremely comfortable and there is access to Netflix and Prime on the TV. There are lots of restaurants, cafes and supermarkets close by. I used Leiden as a base for visiting Lisse, Delft, Rotterdam, The Hague, Hillegom and Keukenhof.

Shared a twin room with a friend. It was spacious, spotless, comfortable and well-equipped. We got the impression it had recently been decorated and everything was in excellent condition. The phone-based self check-in worked perfectly (we arrived after midnight) and was clearly explained. The purpose of our visit was an exhibition in Amsterdam, but we stayed in Leiden because it was so much cheaper. We recommend doing this - Amsterdam is just 20 mins on the train and Leiden is a great place - lots of canals, bars and restaurants but less frantic.

The only difficulty we encountered was with the bedside lights and sockets which, despite many attempts, we couldn't get to work the first night, but figured out for the second.

- The hotel is located in a beautiful house in the center and near the station, it is decorated in a quite playful style - The staff were very friendly and helpful - The room was cozy and had a modern bathroom with a nice big shower (and since this was not the case in several other hotels: with a shower door that did not let any water escape - so there was no puddle after taking a shower) - As advertised, there was a small kettle, some instant coffee and different types of tea in the room - The breakfast was really nice: soft boiled egg, fresh bread, mini croissants, small pastries, fresh orange juice, nice granola, fruit ...

There wasn't really anything I did not like. But here are a few things that were not "perfect" (and let's be honest, you will always find those when you look for them): - There was only one light in the bathroom - it would have been nice to have another one over the mirror - It was kind of noisy outside on the second night (Saturday night in the city center ...), but that really wasn't a big problem once we closed the window

Our rooms (2) were bright, nicely looking, basic, and modern; Newly remodeled I believe! Comfortable bed. Convenient location, within walking distance to all your needs. Smooth check-in. As we arrived after 15:00, we received beforehand all the details to self-check-in without issues. Wifi worked well during our stay. The hotel has a lift, which is extremely important when you have a lot of luggage.

I found the door of the bathroom a bit impractical! 🙈

The room was very nice, comfortable clean and stylish, and the hotel is right in the centre of Leiden. The staff were very helpful. Checking in was a bit strange at the start, as it was not fully clear how to use the automatic check-in, but after getting in it made sense and it was all ok. I did not have breakfast, but the breakfast area seemed quite ice.

Maybe the only things to remark about the room are: there is rather little space for luggage/clothing (although it was ok for me as I travelled alone and light). And the bathroom sink is out of the bathroom, in the actual bedroom; I have seen this before in other hotels, overall this ok, but personally I do not like it. Nonetheless, the toilet/shower were good and comfortable.

Loved our huge room, the hotel setting, the breakfast room and gathering areas were spacious, well decorated and pleasant. Once we connected with hotel staff they were very helpful.

Really poor check in. Check in begins at 3:00, but the front desk is not staffed from 3:00 PM on. Check in is digital, but you have to access the info via the internet. Due to travel and internet problems we couldn't connect to get check in info. Luckily spoke to someone by phone who gave us an alternative entry to the building. Once in the room, the internet access info was incomplete...a very frustrating arrival process overall.

Everything was fine. One thing to note as a UK citizen is that there are no USB ports in the electrical sockets. You need to take adaptors to charge up phones, iPads etc. The two staff members we met were excellent albeit rushed off their feet sometimes. A very pleasant stay. Breakfast is fine, even better when the boiled eggs are not too hard.

We liked the hotel for location, service, cleanliness and friendliness etc. It is quite quirky but it is just so much more characterful than chain hotels.

This small hotel is in an ideal location, a short walk from the station & close to a wide choice of restaurants. Reception is only manned until 15:00 but the Automated checkout worked very well. The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The room (101) was very quiet at night. Breakfast was good and the staff were charming.

A very good base for a short stay. The room was small but not cramped.

A very comfortable bed in a nice, spacious room - really appreciated the little table and desk space. The location is very central and convenient. The receptionist was very friendly and helped us to understand where the parking space was (it's a little confusing to follow the hotel's directions otherwise)!

As it is central, we could hear the sounds of people partying outside even at 2am as we were trying to sleep. It's also quite hard to get to the front door of the hotel - the hotel's own parking spot is a 5-minute walk away, no problem for us but would be hard for anyone with physical limitations.
