All the bar and reception staff where lovely and always cheerful a special shout to the tall slim man with long hair up in a bun (sorry i didn't catch your name) working the bar most nights he was always making conversation, welcoming and made our experience that extra bit special. the pool was great for relaxation as was the suna in our room and the location was amazing with such a quirky beautiful atmosphere and wonderful shops cafes extra. Our room was clean every day not a speck anywhere, beds where made and so comfy 😌 😴 Couldn't recommended enough only wish we could stay longer 🥰

On our last night we decided to eat at the restaurant, again staff where all awesome 😀 but the total cost of our meal was 59 euros for 2 bowls of tomato soup that wasn't overly flavourful and a cheese pizza that again wasn't particularly special compared to the options right outside the hotel it was quite overpriced for what it was however as our stay had been so good it wasn't a huge deal for us Ps Just noticed it is showing my negative reviews first Booking.com please change this our stay couldn't have been better this was a minor thing

Very quiet close to the train station only two stops from Amsterdam centre

Very basic room we had an issue on arrival as we had paid for breakfast but we were told there would be an extra fee. The room cleaning was not consistent. One day we were out of our room for 8 hours when we returned our room had not been cleaned. We wanted to rest so they just knocked on the door and gave us clean towels. Tea and coffee was not replaced. Only 2 paper cups were provided for our entire 10 day stay. Floors were dirty and bathroom wasn’t cleaned every day. Need to lift your game.

The ladies working at the hotel are all very dedicated , professional, helpful and hardworking. The hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the station, and is very well located to explore Zaanse Schans and surrounding areas. They have bikes you can rent, which is handy. There are also many local high street shops and good restaurants within walking distance. The wellness centre(pool, sauna, steam room) were also lovely after a long day of cycling. I also liked that my room had AC that I could control - this was necessary as had to keep the windows closed to block out the noise from the street. The beds were also very comfy!

Have stayed here previously (pre-Covid) and requested our group stay here again. Beds and rooms are unique and comfortable. Super easy to get to from the train and so much to do and see in the area. Great shopping. AH right by hotel for necessities. I stayed 8 days and could have stayed longer.

Unfortunately, the week we were there, there was a lot of construction in hotel. The restaurant was closed, which was very disappointing as no place to gather in the evening. (And actually in my previous experience had pretty good food.) This also meant breakfast was a little difficult to get to, but it was a nice location. The construction also meant that the entrance to the hotel from the train station was blocked. Very awkward to figure out how to get in and out, especially with luggage. Biggest issue for me was the soaking marijuana smell in the hallway. It was overwhelming at times. I know it's Holland, but I opt to stay outside of the touristy AMS areas so I don't have to put up with the pot smell.

The room size was great and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good.

The car park, although subsidised, was very expensive and not part of the hotel. Tourist tax in Zaandam is amongst the highest in the Netherlands, I wonder if NL would have far more tourists if there was no such tax. Bizarrely, a socket outlet is placed immediately above the bath tub. In the UK, where I'm from, outlets are strictly prohibited in bathrooms due to the danger of death by a live object falling into a tubful of water. The ground floor restaurant menu is very limited. There is a rooftop restaurant, but it was fully booked well in advance on each of the four days of my stay. Additional hours beyond 1100h on day of checkout are charged at €20 per hour.

Nice choice for breakfast, travelling abroad alone for the first time it was lovely to have a safe and comfortable place to stay with people around if I needed anything and the restaurant downstairs meant that I didn’t have to go out alone in the evenings in the dark for dinner which was one less thing to worry about. I also really enjoyed the wellness facilities; the pool and sauna were really relaxing after a busy day in the city. The room was lovely with everything I needed and a nice view, also liked that there was a fridge in my room. Very close to the train station which is good for getting about Amsterdam, also some little shops nearby.

My only criticisms really would be that on the first night it took me a while to adapt to the sound of the trains outside but I soon got used to that, and unfortunately I did see a couple of bugs (wood lice I think?) in my room which was a bit of a shock but maybe it’s because of the materials the building is made from. It didn’t ruin my stay.

Excellent location, 2 stations from Amsterdam Centraal & the hotel was 2 minutes walk from Zaandam Station. Plenty of shops, restaurants & coffee shops within easy walking distance. The exterior design of the hotel is fantastic & quirky & was the reason I chose this hotel. Really comfortable bed & pillows.

I'm not a great fan of disposable cups & stirrer sticks for coffee or tea in the room. Fortunately, I always travel with my own mug, jar of coffee & I had some bamboo teaspoons this time. The room was a little too warm,so we had the air-conditioning on at night.

Loved the spaciousness of the room (416) with an excellent shower and bath. The room has a kettle and a fridge, which are great and the beds were comfortable. The swimming pool on the 2nd floor is fab, I love it and it is often empty, open really long hours and clean. The location of the hotel is brilliant, right on for the train and bus station, just 20mins and you're in Amsterdam Centraal. The staff at the hotel are friendly and professional. Lovely touch that they celebrated my significant birthday with a personalised message and sweeties. In Zaandam itself, the shopping street is packed with high street brands plus some eateries and ice cream parlours. At the end of the shops, turn right into the main restaurant and bar area which comes alive at nighttime. Very close to the hotel is an Albert Heijn supermarket which is super handy plus a tourist information shop nearer the station. Great place to see Amsterdam and the coastal villages of Voldendam, Maarken and Edam, plus the open air museum of Zaans Schans - check out the buses, there's so much more to see than Amsterdam from here.

In room 416 there is a huge TV at the end of the bed - some would love this, me not so much! Blocked the view! Also, there are 2 dormer windows which attracted pigeons (noisy) and dripped loudly when it rained. Otherwise, this is a fine room. For us, the cost of eating in the hotel was too expensive but it was popular with many others.

Zaandam station is just 2 stops away from Amsterdam Central station. Hotel is just right outside the station and its really convenient. Primark and mc donalds are also next to hotel along with other food places to eat. Be sure to check out Zaanse Schans for it is also 2 stops away from Zaandam station. Room was comfortable and bed was a tad soft but still good.

Would have been nice if room service is available since restaurants are closed by 8 or 9pm. But bars are opened till 10 and mc donalds is just next to hotel so i guess it didnt make sense to keep hotel kitchen available 24/7?

I love Zaandam area and this hotel completes this area the most. First, who can ignore the vibrant and quirky building structure of this hotel? Too cute to be missed. Swimming pool and wellness area is clean. Room size and outdoor lighting is great. Bedding is comfortable. Staffs are polite and nice. Location is just few steps from the train station and short distance to everything, I mean literally everything. Restaurants (Zaandam centrum even have Indonesian restaurant in walking distance), fashion stores, 2 big supermarkets (Albert Hein and Vomar), skin care stores, leather bags stores around the canal. I love to stroll this area over and over again or just sit there doing nothing.
