Fantastic location and I like the vibe. Bed was comfy and we enjoyed the bar and restaurant areas.

We were upgraded to a better room for no extra charge - thanks - but unfortunately the two story room was cold downstairs and we couldn’t get the temperature to change with the control.

This hotel is centrally located with a boutique vibe. The location is terrific and only a block or two from Brittomart, and the great shopping area at the bottom of Queen Street. The room was very nicely decorated with funky, colourful art-deco furniture. The bathroom was also quite upmarket with lots of space. Everything was there that we needed, the usual hotel room niceties and a high standard of cleanliness. The bed was also very comfortable. We had a delicious cooked breakfast (off a menu, not buffet) as part of our package. The staff were very kind and helpful. We enjoyed great service throughout our stay. Highly recommend as something special in downtown Auckland.

There's no doubt that DeBrett's is an expensive option. It is well outside our usual budget but we had limited options this weekend where prices had be hiked up everywhere. Car parking is well off-site and costs $30/day - just so you know, it's not unusual for the CBD though. The only other thing that could have been a bit better was the breakfast offered with the room rate - even though it was delicious, it was a bit limited ie a meal and a drink (eg coffee). It is pretty standard to be able to also have a juice with breakfast and maybe another coffee. It just doesn't give that luxury, boutique vibe when there are constraints like this, and maybe the management could rethink their breakfast package.

My recent 2-night stay at Hotel DeBrett was nothing short of delightful. The hotel's prime location near Queen Street, coupled with its proximity to charming cafes and bookstores, made it the perfect base for exploring the city. The spaciousness, cleanliness, and comfort of my room were truly impressive. The abundance of natural light from my corner room, which was exactly what I had requested, created a serene and inviting atmosphere. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, going above and beyond to ensure a smooth and enjoyable stay. From booking airport transfers to accommodating my luggage storage needs after check-out, their service was impeccable. Without a doubt, I would highly recommend Hotel DeBrett to anyone visiting Auckland. Its ideal location, comfortable accommodations, and exceptional staff make it a fantastic choice for travellers seeking a memorable stay.

Our room backed onto the elevator which went all night and day, the noise wasn’t loud but it was very disruptive and annoying. The door which people’s used to enter the hallway to all the rooms was next to our front door, it was so annoying! Our under floor heating didn’t work in the bathroom either. I think we just lucked out with our room location. I booked two rooms one for us and one for another couple. They got complimentary drink vouchers and we didn’t.. but their room was great!

The bath in the room was lovely and the bed was comfortable. The staff were all nice enough. It’s fairly central location.

It’s quite dated, there’s nothing special in the room not even water, the room is very small and weirdly people can see into your room. I had been wanting to stay here for a while but now I’m not sure why. high street is pretty run down now. I didn’t feel very safe walking around at night.

Great hotel Great central location close to attractions, bars and restaurants. The hotel restaurant is very good. Good Wifi and minibar too. Cozy and comfortable room. The hotel does not have a gym but has an agreement with a great one a block from the hotel. I didn't have breakfast but considering the quality of the restaurant it must be good.

The only problem was the very soft mattress, which is bad for those with back problems. But they removed the mattress cover and put a board underneath and it was reasonable.

The room is very well designed and comfortable . There is a huge bath to soak in and lots of generous thoughtful touches in the room e.g bath salts, great toiletries, free drink bar voucher, a wide selection of teas. I was also given a room upgrade.

You have to request milk from room service. It would be better to be asked if you want it when you check in. I spent time looking for the milk before I read that I had to request it. This is a small thing. Everything else about this hotel was thoughtful.

Decor of the room and bathroom is exceptional. Furniture is carefully chosen - refined, tasteful. High quality of toiletries and bar food selection. Attention to a detail. Well groomed reception staff. Special thanks to Alvaro. He dealt with a car parking issue with utmost professionalism. Chef at the restaurant prepared delicious 5 star breakfast. Bed is very comfortable. Bedding is superb. Quiet room, no noises from the busy City Business District. A similar experience like in the best boutique hotels in the heart of Milan, Florence and Paris. I finally found a European experience in New Zealand. I will book this hotel again if I have a need to escape from boredom of absolute tastelessness of modern living.

Car parking is not available. Booking.com didn't warned me about it while booking. It's your oversighr! If Alvaro didn't find a working solution for me I would have canceled the booking and went to a different hotel with a parking option.

Decor was very nice and luxurious, very clean and pleasant ambience, bed was comfortable, massive luxurious bathroom with bath and shower facilities, great water pressure, adjustable temperature (silent/no noise), relatively quiet at night for being in the city. Nice staff that responded promptly. Good wifi. Separate space to work from.

Big spiral staircase leading up to bedroom - no problem for me but perhaps ask for a room without if you can’t do stairs. TV channels didn’t really work aside from 4 or 5 random channels that I hadn’t seen before - unless I didn’t know how to work it out (not a huge problem for me as I didn’t need to watch anything but in case it’s important for some)

Room was comfy and clean. Breakfast was great although we had dietary requirements that only allowed for 1 option ("Yes, vegan") it was delicious and well worth popping down to the house kitchen. Bed was comfy and it was surprisingly quiet over a weekend despite being on a busy street with a concert playing near by.

Very small note but the layout of the bathroom was a bit tight. if you're using the bathtub there's no grip floor mat so stepping out on the bath mat was slippery and bit of a hazard.
