Comfortable, good size room, value for money, close to town, dog allowed

Car park area unsuitable for bigger cars. Didn't like the street facing room as too noisy, next time would like to be on the inner side of the building, as although the view onto the street was great while getting ready to go out for dinner and having breakfast in morning it was too noisy for sleep during the night with loud party going pedestrians on their way home yelling etc Cleaning was not quite spotless in bathroom and kitchen but not unsatisfactory...dining not clean, and shower & basin had hair

The one bedroom apartment was huge and very clean. Well set up and comfortable. We could walk into town within twenty minutes and even managed to find a large supermarket. Staff were polite and attentive. Onsite parking was fine. There is a 24 hour convenience store two minutes away.

Nothing about the accommodation was unsatisfactory but we did leave a day earlier, forfeiting the fee, because the weather was awful and we found Dunedin dirty and run down. The fact that the whole centre of town was being dug up only added to the ugliness. Not the fault of Owen Motel, but it did spoil our impression of what I remembered as an attractive university city.

A really lovely Dunedin style motel. We loved the Villa look of it, and the old fashioned feel. The beds were comfy, everything was well set out, and the rooms were VERY clean. The kitchen was good, and the bathroom lovely. The guy that welcomed us and gave us the key was very nice and friendly. We were glad we stayed at Owens Motel because it gave us the real 'Dunedin' feel. Great location.

Everything was perfect except for very noisy squeaky floor boards in the hallway. There were drunk university students walking past all night, (which is out of the motels control, but was very disappointing as they woke us at least 3 times.)

The owner was very welcoming. I had a ground floor room which was like an apartment,very roomy,separate kitchen,large bathroom and separate bedroom with a very comfy bed. It was spotless. Perfect for a single or couple. I also had my show pup with me in a dog crate. Near the motorway and a Night and Day store is about 5 min away. Loved that I had a dedicated patk right outside the room. I had a great sleep.

No downsides, although I could hear the people walking upstairs over the roof when I was in the lounge

fantastic location within easy walking distance to University and CBD. really spacious units with super roomy kitchenette and lounge area. it felt more like staying in a small house than a motel unit. large tv and modern sofa - large kitchen table and extra beds that were also super comfortable. great shower and roomy bathroom. Amazing value for money.

This was our third time staying here and in general, the service is always exceptional and the value for money is really good considering the location of this motel. We would happily stay again, any problems we had were quickly sorted and the owners as so lovely.

If you want a quiet room, I recommend getting a 2nd floor room. We have never had a problem previously, but a noisy guest above us meant we did not get much sleep the first night. This isn't the motel's issue and when I mentioned it, the owner was very quick to offer us a quieter room so I have nothing bad to say about how it was handled.

Very handy to city and bus links. Surprisingly quiet despite being on a busy road. Very friendly hosts. Thank you for letting us have a late check out. Liked the separate bedroom and large bathroon, good water pressure of shower, plenty of kitchen space and equipment for light meal prep.

Bed and pillows a bit too soft for us but we were able to borrow smaller pillows from family to have very comfortable sleeps

a cutting knife would have been useful. It was difficult to wash dishes in and basin and I found doing it where we washed our teeth a little uncomfortable. Maybe a large plastic tub which people could use instead would be appreciated.

Was not sure about the motel as I drove up however was pleasantly surprised. The room was large and well equipped and was very clean and comfortable. Definitely a little dated but had a separate large bedroom, a kitchenette and dining and seating area. Smart TV. Would stay again.

Wifi was patchy and kept dropping.

The accommodation was very clean and the beds very comfortable. There was a good travel cot provided too. There was plenty of space. We also loved that there were laundry facilities...super helpful with a toddler and baby!

As the accommodation was upstairs, and we had a toddler and crawling baby with us, it would have been great if there was a stair gate...we had to improvise with a bed base but the owner was as helpful as he could be. It would also be good to have a high chair.
