Very comfortable bed. Spa and pool nice and warm. Buffet breakfast was good

Got an upgrade to a great room with awesome view on Whakarewarewa. However very thin windows so could hear everything from the swimming pool area. Great block out curtains to sleep in in the morning :) Comfy bed, good room layout, shower was fine. Loved the hot pools. Good location for Whakarewarewa, Te Puia, Wai-o-Tapu, Redwoods, Blue/Green Lake, Tarawera...

Room Service - Paid $24 for what was supposed to be a mud cake (gooey center), only to get a very dry and bland chocolate cake. Check in and check out is very minimal - literally no information provided at the check in, and there is also no information booklet in the room. Check out - The receptionist would have just taken my key and not said anything - wasn't even asked the simple question of how was my stay, so wasn't given a chance to talk about the room service. I did it anyway and was kindly refunded for it. Loved the pool and hot pool, however one of the hot pools jets wasn't working

Our room had a great view although I did have to pay extra for the upgrade. Our first room had a view of the roof which I did not think was good particularly as I had paid for four nights which already was quite alot. The Newly refurbished room was perfect. we liked everything about our room. Pillows and beds were very comfortable. Lovely lights. The black out curtain was great. Places to put your luggage. Gowns and slippers a nice touch. Having a safe and coffee making facility and a fridge was ideal. I liked the green idea but I kept forgetting to put up my green sign. Perhaps it could be the other way around- have a sign put up only if you want new towels etc. Great pool area and clean towels for swimming. My son liked using the gym

The only thing I recommend is cleaning around our bathroom sink is already looking tired around the drain and tap area. Also on the floor around the floor drain is dirty. Both spa pools were not working well but we still enjoyed them. We had noisy neighbours in and out constantly and heard the rooms around us banging doors till late after 11 pm. Could the doors be tightened more so that they just click shut quietly. I noticed the prawns are not cleaned ie de veined or the heads cleaned. I could not eat them and someone might get sick. I often could not find parking only near Whakarewarewa. Was worried my car would get broken in as deserted at night.

Nestled on the outskirts of town, with hot springs in the backyard, there was nothing not to love about this property. We only wish we had a longer stay! The pool looked amazing, there was plenty of carparking, and the bathroom was spotless. Its a short drive into the city centre for delicious food options on Eat Streat. There are also many bike paths around the hotel giving another option to exploring Rotorua, and I'm pretty sure a place across the road with bikes available for hire.

Like most hotels, bathroom lighting could be improved. But that's just trying to find something to complain about!

Our stay at Rydges Hotel was quite enjoyable. The room was fully equipped with thoughtful amenities, such as plenty of electrical sockets and convenient bedside lights, which made our stay smooth and hassle-free. The attention to detail in the room’s setup greatly enhanced our comfort. Additionally, the receptionist was exceptional - she was welcoming, helpful and professional, which added a personal touch to our experience.

The room itself was on the smaller side. Also we booked a room for three, the setup was prepared for two, which was a bit uncomfortable. Nonetheless, given the short duration of our stay, these were minor inconveniences in an otherwise comfortable experience.

Nice rooms and big communal spaces. Enjoyed the outside heated pool in the evening (we stayed on a quiet Sunday night when hotel was not busy and full of coach parties). Convenient location for Māori village etc. staff friendly. Ate the dinner buffet ($60 a head) which was decent value if not spectacular

Property itself was great. Rotorua itself has become a commercial monster where none of the geological features hasn’t been monetised. If I stayed in Rotorua again, I’d happily stay here, but would personally stay in eg Taupō and just come to Rotorua for the day. Just my preference and still a 9/10 hotel.

Staff were friendly and room was comfortable.

We opted to pay extra for a pool view room. In hindsight this was a mistake as I was travelling with my 8 year old son and the noise from the pool which is open until very late made it very difficult for him (and me) to get to sleep. It was no-ones fault as the pool was open so people were perfectly allowed to be there however, it was very noisy so may be worth noting on the website(s) that the pool is open until 10:30pm and the noise travels into the rooms. That way people can make an informed decision about booking the room.

- The pool was amazing, great for all ages ! - The game room, great ! - Beds were comfortable - Buffet breaky, yum ! - The desserts at dinner buffet were delish, great variety always coming out - LOVE that kids under 13 eat for free ! LOVE that. - Free parking - No security deposit taken ! - LOVE the coupons the reception gives you for activities to do with your children, used a few of those !

- There were loads of ants crawling all over the bathroom !! Not very nice to have. - Body wash in shower was empty (no biggie) - The buffet dinner. Hmm i just feel like it lacked flavour, it was either suler spicy, or just semi bland. There was no hot food that i went back for seconds for. 65 is quite pricey too. - The room also needs a bit of TLC. There was a massive squished bug in the corner of the roof. Yuck ! Old lollie under the bed. Wall paper ripped off wall near light switch, also the state of the roof by the door, the railing ? Can see the mechanics of the air con im assuming, very dirty looking. - The amount parking when there is an event happening, was scared to leave and come back to no park (which is what happened) had to wait until someone left.

Bed is comfy, heated pool and spa are the bonus.

It was a brief stay and everything was great until the next morning. I was queuing up and two guys were friendly greeted with a big smile, when it came to mine the smile was retreated. I said “ Good morning” and handed over my room card, the lady lifted her head up and took the key and done. I was first confused, did I say it wrong or has the checking out routine changed? Or she is just not a morning person, I mean after all we are all Asian faces and we stick together don’t we?

A very comfortable room and bed with all the amenities you would expect - toiletries, towels, fridge, kettle etc. The staff were very helpful with any requests. The on-site bar and restaurant were excellent. The all-you-can-eat buffet dinner was delicious with a good selection of food. The geothermally-heated pool and hot tubs were wonderfully relaxing, not too crowded and just the right temperature to soothe away any aches after a days sight-seeing! The Whakarawa Maori Geothermal Village was only about 100m away, well worth a visit. Other tourist places and the town were about 2km - a short drive - away.

The fire alarms went off one morning as a practice, but there was no notification or announcement that it was just a test. The car-parking is not allocated, you have to share it with restaurant and conferenece guests too on a first-come, first-served basis, although we were always able to find a spot somewhere.
