The best motel I’ve ever stayed. This is my honest review!This property is very wide, very clean, and all the staffs are really welcoming and very nice. I even end up being friends with all of the staffs cause they’re so kind and respectful. I even force them to take my tips whenever they clean my room but they really don’t want to accept it. They always tell me that as long as I’m comfortable at their motel, they’re happy already. And I’m just very amazed! And apart from that they’re really hands on at everything. So definitely highly recommended for a place to stay here at Rotorua! No joke!

I found my stay very comfortable and enjoyable. Some reviews commented that there was no AC, however no AC is common for older NZ motels. Summer heat during the day can be a problem, but the hosts went out of their way to keep the room cool by closing the curtains and running two electric fans. It was most appreciated! At night, the room was naturally cool and didn't need the fans. The WIFI was excellent. Parking was fine. I barely heard the noise of the logging trucks next door when they left in the morning. It appeared they went out of their way to keep the noise down. The hosts provided ear plugs but I didn't need it. The room wasn't fancy, but it was very clean and comfortable. Certainly value for money. I would stay there again.

Friendly staff, easy check in, very clean, family friendly! There was a park for a 2 year old to play on across the road and just a little drive to the town center, also its off the main road so there wasnt any road noise!

Had to switch rooms, the first room we had one of the power outlets wasnt working at all and the other one on the other side of the bed was constantly on, we didnt feel safe with a 2 year old but the staff changed our rooms straight away!

Room was clean & comfortable, and the spa bath relaxing. Owner had opened windows and turned on fans in room prior to our arrival. this was appreciated as it was a hot and relatively windless summer's day. Room had a small balcony and outdoor furniture.

Single bed mattress was pretty soft, but this isn't a huge issue. Like most motels in Rotorua, the property is rather old and some bathroom fittings are showing discolouration due to geothermal atmosphere. Having lived in Rotorua we know that this is unavoidable. The room had been updated so not really an issue. room does not have air conditioning, some people may find it difficult to sleep on hot nights. There was a sign warning of flying insects entering room at night, perhaps insect screens might be a useful addition? Also there was a logging truck parking area next door, it wasn't an issue for us as we stayed on a Saturday, but this might be busy on working days.

Everything. Staff were exceptional and accepted our early time of arrival and left keys so we could let ourselves in. Exceptional customer service. Definitely the reason we will always stay here. Cheap close and easy going.

Nothing. But next time I know to ask for the room to be heated before we arrive. Fans were going and it's winter time. Lol otherwise was a beautiful stay.

My husband and I loved the facilities. They were exceptionally clean and comfortable. We had the spa bath, shower lovely and relaxing. Staff were accommodating cleaned the room daily if you required that service. Highly recommend New Castle Motor Lodge 👍👍👍😃😃😃 .

Carpark has limited spaces first in. Otherwise, park out on the street apart from that everything is great 👍👍

Hot and humid room. There were fans but was rotating the heat through the room more than cooling it down. Wouldn't want to hang in the room during the day it would be extremely hot. I kept trying to book for one but the only had bookings for two which meant there was an unused bed
