Our hosts were so welcoming. We loved the inroom private spa with soothing jets, that was ready when we arrived, and you bet we hopped in straight away!! It is constantly heated from a thermal bore situated nearby. We spent most of our stay in it. And it wasnt so noisy. Our unit was nice and clean. Loved the pressure in the shower, and the bathroom amenities smelt sooo good. Towels were soft and clean. Spa had some gorgeous red towels (dont see those in some decent hotels/motels) Kitchenette utilities were great also, I didnt want to put this comment in the 'Didnt like' section as it doesnt relect on our great overnight stay here. And I forgot to let the host know when we checked out, that the microwave didnt heat our food after 10-20mins in there. It wasnt a big deal to us, as it was our breakfast on the day of checking out. TV's were in good working order, clear picture and easy to log into Netflix etc

This is our personal exlerience as everyone is different. The bed was a bit too firm for us BUT lucky we had the spa which sorted our backs out real quick.

We liked how clean everything was and smelled fresh. I liked the easy parking right next to your room. The heated pool was great but if they had a separate little pool for younger children to paddle in would make it perfect. Staff were awesome easy to talk to makes much more pleasant environment. We also liked it's location and the street was very quiet at the time of our stay hardly any road noise. Rooms also sold concrete walls so only faintly hear other guests.

Not really anything to say because overall we were very happy with everything thing.

Loved the service and people, nothing was a bother. We have a hybrid vehicle and could charge our vehicle, there are designated spaces for this as well. This was so great and would book here again just for that reason. The rooms had almost everything a family needed, full kitchen, comfy beds and bonus with the hot tub, I used it so many times. Having a heated pool was another extra bonus and our daughter loved it. If there was air conditioning it would've topped things off.

We visited in summer, struggled to sleep without air conditioning. A little spruce up to the rooms would be great.

Room as big enough. Was warm. The in-room spa pool was amazing. Used it every day. The kitchen had everything - includng a full sized oven, a microwave and fridge. There was a TV in both rooms. Comfy recliner chairs in the lounge. It was in a central location, close to the city centre and lake. We were really happy with the stay here.

The suflur smell was a bit overwhelming. I didn't sleep the first night as I had difficulty breathing. I adapted over a couple of days and by the time we left I barely noticed it. We were there for 5 days.

Liked the overall cleanliness, and the shower having amenities was excellent as we forgot our body wash! It was great to have television in both rooms. Loved the thick quality of the carpet considering the cold winter weather, and the heaters were more than enough for heating.

There was base music coming from one or two rooms late at night. A few bamboo or firm pillows would have been great for the master.

Really really helpful and nice staff. Helped with washing and providing a plug adapter which we could keep. Useful to have a kitchen but couldn’t cook much in the room. Was good for popcorn and tea and coffee (provided on arrival!) Plenty of parking.

Slightly unclear location wise as the property next door almost has almost same name and is run by same people. Had to move the car 3 times! Not really walking distance to centre of Rotorua but good breakfast place nearby. Room was cleaned during the day but not locked by staff once they were done. Returning to find the room unlocked was a little disconcerting.

I had a fantastic stay at the Sports of Kings Motel. The room was clean, and having an in-room hot tub was a nice touch. After a long day, it was very enjoyable to relax in the hot tub and watch TV from there. The property had everything we needed for our stay. The staff was friendly, and the room was reasonably priced. I would stay at this property again, especially since my 8-year-old son also enjoyed it.

I suggest having the iron and ironing board in the room

Great location and comfortable bed. A little noisy as it is all ground level, hotel/motel. No air conditioning, which was not an issue for us and nowhere to put your case except on the floor, but once again not really an issue for us. Tristan was an absolute delight to deal with and very helpful with our sightseeing planning. There is an onsite laundry and clothes line or dryers available. Be warned you will get the strong Sulphur smells coming from the geothermal areas, but thats all part of the experience!

We loved the outdoor pool area. The pool was a wonderful temperature even in very cold blustery conditions. Having the pool noodles there to use was an added bonus too. The staff were friendly and helpful, and i loved that daily room services were optional. The motel was very comfortable and we would stay here again in a heart beat. We found the location very good too.

Upon arrival we found food in the groove in the top of the fridge door, where you put your fingers in to open it. It wasnt a good first impression. I think one of the first things that I did when we got there was to open the fridge to put the milk away and it was a little off putting. The rest of the motel seemed to be clean though.

Tristan was an excellent hostess with the mostest, she was attentive to our needs, with no questions asked, top notch service, highly recommend this place for accommodation. Parking is a bit tight with a larger vehicle but you make it work.

It wasnt a didnt like but more of an observation that the private in room spa's couldve done with a touch up of paint especially if they are emptied on a regular basis. Parking was a bit tight to with a larger vehicle.
