I was absolutely amazed by the motel's fantastic location and its close proximity to both the city and the water. Although I must admit that being of Ngati Awa whakapapa, I wanted to ensure I remained impartial in my assessment. However, I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of pride in the exceptional level of hospitality extended to guests, truly embodying the spirit of manaaki. Additionally, having a delightful café conveniently located on-site was a definite treat.

While we understand that achieving excellence can be challenging, there were a couple of aspects that didn't quite meet our preferences during our stay. Firstly, the bed was too firm for both my husband and me, as we typically enjoy the added comfort of a foam gel topper on our mattress. Secondly, considering our experience, we would likely opt for a ground-level room in the future to avoid the inconvenience of carrying heavy bags up a staircase, especially in inclement weather.

The location is awesome and close to town, playground, and the beach 🌞😎 The staff are customer friendly when checking in at reception and checking out 👌🏽 'The Apartment' was exceptionally clean and tidy. It's very spacious for the kids to relax and entertain themselves. They really enjoyed the spa bath 👍🏽😃 Would definitely come back again 💯👍🏽

The tv in the main room was not working. A suggestion; have a stool for entering and exiting the bath/shower/spa, and a non-slip shower/bath mat.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment which was very spacious with a full sized kitchen and spa bath. The living area was huge. Everything was really clean. Staff are friendly and helpful and the on site cafe is great. Awesome location, can walk to the water and to town

Living area was sparsely furnished so didn’t feel homely . Some areas are in need of renovation and a few more extras like bedside lights in the second bed room and a mirror in the bedrooms would be great

Lovely motel! The lady who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. Straightforward check in and check out. We got parking right outside our room! The room was very spacious, with a fridge, microwave and kettle. Beds were comfortable, we slept very well. Nice bathroom (wet room), good pressure from the shower. Good location, short stroll to restaurants (the area seems to close quite early), and short drive to Ōhope beach.

That we only stayed one night. Would definitely stay again, if travelling back to the area!

Communication with this accomodation has been excellent right from my booking I had to request a few things due to my disability they were more than happy to help I really appreciated it the room was just right for me the bed was very comfy the accomodation was ideally located close to town

There seemed to be a shortage of parking spaces there were also noisy children running around outside but once safely put inside they were nice n quiet

Very nice layout, bed was huge and very comfortable. Shower pressure was also lovely and nice layout with body wash, shampoo and conditioner provided. Also the TV had sky channels which was great so we could watch the rugby games over the weekend. Would definately stay again.

Not enough toilet paper rolls provided, and bathroom door didnt have a lock which my partner didnt like. Fridge was not turned on when we arrived so milk was a bit warm.

Was fortunate have a room which is quiet and private for rest. Glad to be here, because it's been fully booked at times. My room is spotlessly cleaned each day. The lemon trees are loaded with fruit, every motel should have these.

I got cold. Does the air conditioner have heat, if so i didn't know how to use it. Could you put a help guide out on how to get the heat going. However, will come with more woollies next time.

The accommodation was spacious and had all we required. We were able to book a trip to Moutuhora Island in the reception area and the tour effectively departed from there. Reception staff were friendly and helpful and there is a lovely cafe on site serving delicious food. We were there four nights in all. Three were booked as part of our original itinerary and the additional (first) day was booked when we had to change our plans due to Gisborne being inaccessible after Cyclone Gabrielle.

Staff, reception, Cafe, acceptance were very good and I felt comfortable. The people and surroundings were great, clean and ready. My husband and I have stayed here several times. We prefer and enjoy the privacy of the microcabins, Cabin 39 most.

I get back to the motel after course, the Cafe is closed. Their scones after course would be wonderful, any of their food for that matter. Its obviously popular place to stay Ive tried to book a month ahead this time, missed a cabin.

Location and nice and clean. Male receptionist was very helpful and professional.

The bed was too hard for us and both woke up with sore backs and hips. There was a baby staying above us who cried alot during the night, and family were up walking around alot trying to settle it. Had about 3 hours sleep in total Friday night. Saturday night was slightly better. I realize that is out of your control and I would request an upstairs room or separate cabin next time. Did expect someone from establishment when fire alarm went off to come along and ensure all residents were out of room. Didn't happen while we were there. Policy and procedures?
