Excellent location. Lovely views from our 5th floor superior room across the harbour & sea. Welcoming staff. Comfy room. Easy walking distance to shops, cafes, museums & Tromso cathedral. Good & easily accessible bus routes to cable-car & Arctic Cathedral.

Rather basic breakfast & dinner. FIKA became somewhat repetitive. Arctic Cathedral disappointed & was outshone by the Tromso Cathedral. Aurora cruise dinner was poor, not to our palate, but seeing the "Northern Lights" made up for that.

The location was perfect and the view from our room was fantastic. The meals, which were included, were adequate, but we had to go to the hotel across the road for this. The room was spotless clean and the hotel was nice and quiet.

There was nothing in the room to put your clothes into. We were there for 4 days, so we didn't have a great deal of luggage, but still, some drawers or a box cupboard would have been welcolm to put our cloth in to. All there was, was 4 hangers hanging on a rail just inside the door. There was a small vanity style desk with a chair but only one drawer on it. This definitely lets the hotel down.

I had a really great stay and Clarion Collection Hotel With. I was able to upgrade my room so I could have a view of the harbour, Artic Cathedral and beyond. The staff is very friendly, helpful and very willing to spend extra time with you to answer any questions you may have. The room and bed were excellent. The hotel is in the middle of upgrading their kitchen so all guests had their breakfast and dinner at Clarion Hotel Aurora across the road. This was no problem at all. The food was great - well cooked, varied and with great attention to detail. It's a great place to stay.

The location is great. The hotel is very comfortable and has everything you need. The fact that half board is included is an added bonus. It was great knowing I had breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner all sorted. The team were very helpful and the rooms very spacious.

It is an older hotel. Dust does build up in older places, but it wasn’t too bad. If you’re looking for something new and sleek then it won’t be for you, but if you’re looking for somewhere that you can use as a “home” on your adventures then this is a great place.

Stayed here for another four nights in November, 2nd visit this year, we were there on a package tour in March to see the Northern lights. Great location right by the harbour and less than 5 mins walk from airport bus drop off point. Friendly and helpful staff with great continental style buffet breakfast which includes some hot items as well, eggs, bacon, brilliant scrambled egg, if you want that choice. "Fika" in the afternoon and a buffet style evening meal, with a "Hot" course option as well. Coffee/tea available 24/7. Upgraded harbour view room was good, beds comfortable and better than other places we've stayed, room and hotel was good temperature and good to return to when it was cold/wet outside, bathroom had a good shower and was a good size. This trip was to see some whales and a local fjord trip and we managed to see Orca’s and Humpbacks. Little snow on this trip, but thoroughly enjoyed staying in Tromso. If we ever go back to Tromso, this will be first choice for a place to stay.

Nothing to not like at the hotel. Only issue was the weather for our November trip, little snow and warmer than expected. Lack of snow made walking around Tromso easier, but wasn't quite what we were expecting for a visit in November.

The ethos of the place is chilled out but highly efficient. I liked the fact it was in the very centre of Tromso by the marina and mixed the relaxed town vibe with international travellers. There we're people from all over the world and no dominant group a genuine global mix. Excellent breakfast and for the price excellent value for money. It was fun and quirky boutique feel and accessible by bus from the airport very easily. The floating Pust Sauna is a quick dash up the jetty and I highly recommend this experience and the hotel is superbly located for this. I'll admit it does look a little odd coming in to dinner after a dip in the pristinely clean Artic Ocean after a very hot sauna but go for it. I think the hotel is missing a trick by not promoting this on their doorstep. Hyggeleg was great of cake and coffee in the afternoon included in the price and it was so nice to just grab a hot drink whenever you liked.

More choice in the evening meal, however if you eat salad and potato you'll get a meal even if you don't like the main meal. We ate well but my wife didn't eat much in the evening. Such a good price we didn't mind.

Spent 3 nights. Check-in was great, very welcoming. The room 211 was small, but manageable for two, with two comfortable chairs and one large ottoman. Lovely view of water, boats and mountains. Terrycloth robes much appreciated. Complimentary hot breakfast buffet was varied and very good. Also ate our evening meals at the hotel - also enjoyable - so much better than going out in the snow and ice on foot. Plus between 1500-1700 there was complimentary gingerbread (scrumptious) and hot tea/etc. in the dining area.

The cost of staying here was high for a couple of middle-class retirees, but Norway was that way all around.

We arrived 15 minutes before the end of the (included) buffet dinner which the receptionist reminded us of ensuring we could get something to eat. The dinner eat night consisted of a hot soup, main course and several salads with bread rolls. The breakfast was good, buffet style. Fika was a great addition (coffee and cake in the afternoon). The reception staff were friendly and helpful. There is a coffee machine and tea available 24 hours a day. Great location, walking distance to all the sights and tour pick up spots.

The location was perfect! The hotel is right on the water with excellent views. It's central to all the shops and restaurants, making it easy to explore Tromso on foot. It's also a couple of blocks from the meeting points for several Northern Lights tours. We even saw some faint Northern lights from our room one night! The rooms weren't anything fancy, but they met all our needs and even had a tiny fridge. The staff was very friendly and even scheduled us a taxi for early in the morning to get to the airport. The breakfast ends kind of early after doing late night northern lights exploring, but it's a delicious and convenient buffet.

The dinner was included, but it was only 1 dish per night. If you don't like the selection, you need to have a reservation for dinner nearby or eat early (before 6pm) if you want to be spontaneous.
