Really nice boutique hotel in the hip & trendy San Blas neighbourhood! It's literally 5-10mins walking distance from Plaza de Armas or Cusco main square and a bunch of nice restaurants, pubs and stores. We chose this as we didn't want to stay at chain hotels. We stayed in the Suite - which had a nice sofa/seating area and a little balcony overlooking at the city. Bed was super comfortable, loved the small touches like bringing us hot water bottle and night-time tea in the evening to wind down. The food at the restaurant within the hotel was fantastic too! Breakfast, lunch & dinner was fantastic - though after 7 days of stay with Antigua we thought the menu was slightly limited. However, when asked they were very willing to make something off the menu to satisfy your craving! The hotel also has good spa facility, though limited capacity so book early! Since I was suffering from altitude sickness, I took advantage of the hyperbaric chamber - very handy! The best of all were the staff - Oscar, Felix and others in the restaurant and honestly throughout the hotel - were super nice, warm and friendly! They made our stay even more awesome! Totally recommend Antigua Casona San Blas!

Our experience at Antigua Casona San Blas was nothing short of exceptional. The property is incredibly beautiful and well located, just a short walk away from the main plaza. The attention to detail is immaculate with local culture and history showcased around every corner, hot water bottles warming up the bed and local tea awaiting you in your room every evening, fresh filtered water available as you depart each day, and delicious homemade breakfast boxes if you are departing the hotel earlier than 6am (perfect for Machu Picchu excursions). We love their focus on sustainability and supporting local community organizations as well, I encourage any guest to read more about it on their website. The restaurant is also absolutely incredible and would be absolutely worth coming to even if we weren't guests at the hotel. The food was some of the best we had on our entire trip in Peru and we still can't believe breakfast was complementary for guests of the hotel, what a treat. All of this would already be a 10/10 stay but the thing we'll remember most about this hotel was the amazing staff. We cannot sing their praises enough - I wish I could remember all of their names but Mario and Victor especially. We arranged for pickup from the airport but experienced a flight delay and were able to communicate with the staff via WhatsApp. They made a stressful situation so pleasant and gave us peace of mind that a driver would be waiting for us when we arrived. They arranged taxis for us throughout our whole trip and simply added it to our bill and helped us with whatever we needed. Most of all every single staff member from the front desk to the restaurant to housekeeping were some of the kindest and most helpful folks we've met in our travels around the world. We cannot thank them enough for an unforgettable stay and we'll surely be back again!

This is probably one of my favourite hotels that I've ever stayed in, especially for the price. The staff were so friendly and helpful, loved the turn down of the room in the evening, offering complimentary tea and hot water bottles, breakfast was excellent, offering a buffet and a menu cooked to order. The room was spacious, and bed comfy. The building itself is beautiful; it showcases a small gallery, spa and a yoga studio - which was so nice to attend after a week of hiking! The location in San Blas is great, walking distance to many restaurants and local market stalls/handicrafts. It was a pleasure to stay here and would stay again when in Cusco.

There was nothing I could fault.

This hotel was absolutely exceptional. The staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, they were delightful and all seemed to love what they do. The restaurant is amazing. The food looks and tastes delicious. Huge portion sizes and so well presented. Excellent value for money. We stayed for three nights and planned to try restaurants in Cusco. The restaurant was so good we ate there every night. Beautiful fire pits in the Courtyard, together with an excellent Pisco Sour, what more could you ask for. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Nothing. Absolutely amazing place.

- The vibe throughout this hotel was very ZEN - The breakfast buffet and dinner options were amazing - The in-house yoga studio is the perfect way to stretch, breathe and to help you to acclimatise to the altitude (at a small fee paid directly to the class instructor) - Every night, the staff bring warm tea to help you acclimatise to the altitude and hot water bottles, in addition to the cleaning done throughout the day. - You can ask the front desk for a breakfast pack if you have an early morning pick-up for a tour that goes to Machu Picchu or Rainbow Mountain.

Soundproofing – however, I read a lot of feedback for other hotels when booking, and these also mentioned negative feedback around the soundproofing of rooms – so it sounds like it's not very commonplace to have soundproofing with the traditional buildings in Cusco, in general. Despite this, I really appreciated Antigua Casona's attempts to introduce white noise, such as running water via a fountain outside, and playing spa-like music in the hallways, to create a sense of calm and to reduce overhearing your neighbours chatting in bordering rooms. Also, the fact that we didn't spend more TIME here – this is such a great place to stay!!

This hotel is beautiful and the pictures posted by the hotel accurately reflect its beauty. We had two rooms that opened into an inner courtyard with small Juliette style balconies that included a cushioned seating area with pillows. The staff is amazing and we loved the extra touches (evening herbal tea, hot water bottles, and alpaca wraps) in our room. While it's uphill, it's close to the Plaza de Armas and surrounded by small shops. Breakfast was delicious. If you're tired in the evening and don't feel like going out, the restaurant and interior courtyard with seating and firepits is lovely and relaxing. Our girls enjoyed morning yoga at the hotel. We highly recommend Antigua Casona San Blas.

I can't think of anything that would have made it more enjoyable.

We’ll appointed furniture, excellent collection of ethnographic art with explanations, attention to native/water conscious plantings in courtyards, seamless blending of colonial architecture with contemporary amenities, great massage spa. Judy was an exceptional masseuse, and incredibly kind helpful staff at all hospitality services.

Though nicely designed, our bathroom’s tub was too deep to step in and out of. It lacked any support bars or grips. At times, I felt I could’ve fallen. Perhaps an additional, removable stepping stools would’ve truly helped me.

The location was central to everything. Our room was ready ahead of time. The room had a nice loft for our third person. Every night we had turn down service with hot mint tea and hot water bottles on the beds. Lovely. There was always filtered water in the bathroom with luxurious towels. There was also a tap for filtered water in the courtyard that saved us having to purchase. There is a spa on the premises that we booked hyperbaric treatments with and they helped tremendously with the altitude acclimization. The breakfast was excellent with to order hot items in addition to a small buffet. For our early departure day the hotel provided us with a wonderful breakfast of avocado and cheese sandwiches, bottled peach nectar, trail mix and dried fruit. Just what we needed. The hotel also stored our bags while we trekked to Machu Picchu before we returned for another night. What a wonderful experience!

Nothing. The staff is always present to meet your needs with a smiling face.

Staff was great, the facilities are beautiful. Nice courtyard. Room well equipped. Warm water bottle in our beds at night was a nice touch. One staff member (did not get his name) went out of his way to call our ride service when our ride failed to show up in time for our transfer to the airport. He then helped us flag down a taxi. Sushi place across the "road" was really good and saved us when we came in very late.

Issue with many hotels and single beds, they tend to be short if you happen to be a little taller than average. Hotels really should provide at minimum double beds for single travelers or those sharing a room. Restaurant was closed for what looked like renovations during our visit.

Homey and confortable boutique hotel in the historical centre of Cusco. San Blás is a great artsy neighbourhood to explore and many points of interests are at a 15/20min walking distance, so super convenient location. Very friendly and attentive staff. The complementary evening tea and hot-water bottle is such a pleasant touch at the end of a busy day. Varied and tasty breakfast/dinner. In summary, one of our accommodation highlights in Perú - definitely recommend!

Insonorisation is not the best, but it is a small price to pay for authenticity.
