Nice to be out of the busy town , but close to all the amazing attractions of Sintra. Great communication with Alberto and Lena

More check in directions would be helpful. The room description of a Private Kitchen is misleading - there is just one common shared kitchen for all 9 rooms. If the place is booked fully, using the common kitchen would be a challenge. A second coffee maker, and toaster would help. Parking on the street is a challenge, but doable.

We booked the place last minute, and the staff was really understanding and helpful considering our urgency and delay of arrival. The place has beautiful outdoor spaces, so during warmer periods of the year it absolutely gorgeous. Bed was comfortable, shower absolutely perfect. And there's a common kitchen with all necessary tools to have quick breakfasts or lunches. Make sure to buy your own spices though. Free parking outside also available, which was one of our biggest needs.

I don't have any complaints, everything we needed, we got, and for a short trip we couldn't have asked for more. There nothing else I can add.

Our arrival experience was not as expected. The host was rude when we arrived and were ringing the bell to get in. We were spoken to in a very rude manner that we should not be ringing the bell more than once. As a customer/guest I expected to be greeted and welcomed in a friendly manner and not spoken to like we were not welcomed. I will not stay here again just because of this experience. The place itself is very charming, clean and spacious

Close enough to the historical centre 15min by taxi. Spacious house with beautiful interior, comfy bed. Well appointed communal kitchen, dining room and living room. Less than 1km to mini market and restaurants. Very friendly reception and great service even if she struggled with English, she made us feel welcome

No washing machine facilities - it would be a bonus to add this. Sadly the neighbours dog barked a lot during the day.

A charming place. We enjoyed the warm welcome. A place to stay for a few days while discovering the area. Everything is thought about to make a longer stay enjoyable. A nice and clean kitchen, a comfortable lounge and terrace. The family rooms are large and nicely decorated. The bathroom is clean and modern. It had the most comfortable bed of our stay in Portugal. Everything was perfect. A bakery is 3 min walk away.

Clean room, nice shower, good storage for clothes and suitcases. A bit musty, but good when you open the windows and air it out. Decent lodging for the price.

Dog barking a lot outside. Staff could be more friendly. Location is very difficult to find and to access main attractions in town. Bolt and Uber drivers had a hard time picking us up there and dropping us off. You need a car if staying there for sure.

The guesthouse was absolutely lovely! Very clean, beautifully decorated, lovely common spaces, friendly and helpful staff. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was spacious, loved that I had a whole suite with my own private balcony.

Nothing... everything was perfect. One small suggestion, it would be great to have a plug for the bathtub. I couldn't find it.

This place is beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable. It was immaculate. The owner was warm and welcoming. Thoughtful things in the room that were much appreciated, such as a bottle of water. Beautiful communal terrace overlooking the castles of Sintra. Lovely Portuguese cafe only a couple of minutes walk away with good coffee, pastries and friendly staff.

Nothing, I wanted to stay longer

The beds were huge, the room was clean with air con! Easy to lock and open, behind an outside gate for extra protection. Lena was an amazing host,even though her English wasn't very good she helped us in every way. Private balcony was a plus.

Lovation was hard to get to unless you drive or use taxi's / uber The shower is in the bedroom, which was unique.

Feeling at home away from home describes best our experience at Casa das Hortênsiaswe!! Although we stayed only for a single night It was the best hospitality we received during our stay in Portugal. This guest house was surprisingly brilliant. We booked the family rooms and It has everything needed. It was clean and cosy. the garden was a real bonus for the kids and the shared kitchen and dining area were very welcoming as well. The place is well located for quickly reaching all Sintra has to offer. But the real highlight of this place is the amazing warm and friendly service beyond any expectation by Alberto, the host. He did everything to make sure that we have absolutely everything we need to the last detail and even beyond our stay. His personal recommendations were priceless and thanks to it and for his hospitality we saved a lot of time and enjoyed our short stay to Sintra way beyond our expectations.
